44. Hubby, You Know What I Mean—I Don’t!

.

The next morning.

When Zhong Cheng woke up, his whole body felt awful. Every movement sent sharp aches through him.

Have you ever slept with your neck at a bad angle? If so, you might understand what Zhong Cheng was feeling now.

It was similar to a stiff neck, but far worse. The difference was like comparing a minor nuisance to a full-blown disaster.

The soreness had spread throughout his body. Even moving a finger hurt. One small motion affected everything.

On top of that came a numb, tingling sensation caused by poor circulation.

The aching and numbness combined into a perfect nightmare. It was pain on top of pain—the absolute pinnacle of suffering. He’d never felt anything so “refreshing” before.

This was the aftereffect of being pinned down by a ghost for an entire night.

Although the ghost oppression had ended and Zhong Cheng had awakened, he still couldn’t get out of bed. He could only lie there quietly like a salted fish and play the part of a beautiful man.

After lying there for a full hour, the unbearable soreness finally faded. He felt much better and was able to get out of bed.

Since he still hadn’t fully recovered, Zhong Cheng moved with trembling caution. He looked like an eighty-year-old grandpa who couldn’t straighten his back.

First, he went to the bathroom to brush his teeth and wash his face.

When he came out and entered the living room, Zhong Cheng witnessed a scene that filled him with intense envy.

On the living-room sofa, his little sister was hugging the Ghost Emperor. One of his sister’s small hands was covering the Ghost Emperor’s huge chest, though one hand couldn’t cover it completely.

His sister stared at the towering peaks before her with wide eyes, as if gazing up at a sacred mountain. She wore an awkward yet elegant smile, trying to hide her excitement.

The scene felt strangely familiar.

Right. Wasn’t this the sort of risqué fan art that those internet trolls posted all the time?

He had no idea what had happened to make the two women hug each other in such an ambiguous pose.

They were both girls, so a little physical intimacy was normal. Even so, Zhong Cheng couldn’t help feeling envious.

After all, as her husband, he could only touch the Ghost Emperor’s delicate hand. He wasn’t allowed anywhere near the rest of her body.

Yet this little brat of a sister could openly cover the Ghost Emperor’s enormous chest.

The difference in treatment was outrageous.

Hmph. It wasn’t like he was jealous.

Damn it!

“Little brat, let go of those breasts and let me take over!”

“Big Sis Weiwei, exactly how big is your bust? It’s so big and soft… Hehe, I wish mine were that big,” his sister asked.

“I don’t know. I’ve never measured it,” the Ghost Emperor replied.

“Then should I measure it for you?”

“There’s no need.”

“Don’t be shy!”

His sister had already stood up and excitedly headed toward the bedroom.

A moment later, she returned with a measuring tape in her hand.

She walked up to the sofa and, without another word, began measuring the Ghost Emperor’s bust. The tape winding around those towering peaks looked rather indecent.

Her movements were smooth and practiced. Anyone could tell she was an experienced player. Who knew how many times she had done this sort of thing?

It was truly enviable!

The measurement was soon finished.

His sister looked at the measuring tape in her hand, then at the Ghost Emperor’s massive chest. She became intensely focused. Suddenly, her eyes widened, as if she’d been utterly shocked.

“How big is it?”

When his sister was about to return the measuring tape to the bedroom, she passed by Zhong Cheng.

He lowered his voice and asked with a lecherous look, “How big is her bust?”

“You don’t know?” his sister asked.

“If I knew, would I need to ask?” Zhong Cheng snapped.

“Hmph. I’m not telling you. If you want to know, ask Big Sis Weiwei yourself.”

She sounded inexplicably annoyed.

Could she be on her period? He was pretty sure it wasn’t around this time of the month.

Why did he know his sister’s cycle?

Don’t misunderstand. Zhong Cheng absolutely wasn’t a siscon. He only happened to know.

Even though his sister always acted carefully during that time, like a ninja erasing every trace, she still couldn’t fool an attentive family member.

There was simply no need to expose her.

While Zhong Cheng was baffled by his sister’s sudden anger, she was silently grumbling about her brother.

She suspected that he was deliberately flaunting his wealth.

How could a man not know his own girlfriend’s bust size? He clearly knew and had asked anyway. It was a textbook example of showing off.

A well-fed man never understood the hunger of the starving. She hated people like that most.

His girlfriend was beautiful, elegant, and blessed with an amazing figure. She even had a huge chest.

Every day, he could touch her large, soft “conscience” and indulge in blissful self-satisfaction.

That enormous conscience was too big for one hand to cover. Its heavy, yielding feel was enough to make anyone fall completely in love after touching it once.

No wonder men liked them big. The sensation really was tempting. Even women couldn’t resist it.

Then she looked at her brother’s exhausted face.

It was nearly noon before he’d gotten out of bed. He walked with trembling steps and looked completely drained.

All the signs pointed to one conclusion.

The two of them had definitely worked hard together last night and enjoyed themselves thoroughly.

Her brother might already have nothing left to give.

Well, if she had such a beautiful girlfriend, she’d probably lose control too while touching that enormous conscience.

This was the world of adults.

It was wonderful and powerful.

His sister felt that she still had a long way to go.

She decided to touch Big Sis Weiwei’s magnificent conscience again later and pray that one day, she would possess one just as large.

His sister envied her brother, unaware that Zhong Cheng was actually envying her.

She could openly hold that conscience in her hands and live to tell the tale. No one was going to beat her to death.

As for him, he could touch the Ghost Emperor’s hand at most. Anything else was out of the question.

Otherwise, he’d either be beaten to death or drained dry.

At that moment, Zhong Cheng deeply understood the harm caused by the gap between the rich and the poor.

He also finally understood why Marx and Lenin, those great best friends, had devoted their entire lives to class struggle.

Workers of the world, rise up!

“You and Xiao Xi… what exactly is going on?” Zhong Cheng asked after his sister entered the bedroom. “Why were you hugging first thing in the morning? Don’t you know how envious that scene makes people?”

He walked over beside the Ghost Emperor as he spoke.

“You want to know?” the Ghost Emperor asked.

Wasn’t that obvious?

Zhong Cheng had noticed that she loved asking pointless questions. Every day, it was another question in response to a question.

He wanted to say, “Go ask your mother. From now on, I’ll call you the Questioning Ghost Emperor.”

Of course, he didn’t dare say that aloud.

Being brave for one moment was satisfying. Being beaten to death afterward was not.

He could only curse her silently in his heart.

In reality, Zhong Cheng humbly asked the Ghost Emperor for an explanation.

“What an energetic child. Her yang energy must taste wonderful too.”

The Ghost Emperor didn’t answer. Instead, she revealed a greedy, hungry expression.

“Don’t even think about touching my family,” Zhong Cheng said urgently. “Or you’ll deal with the consequences.”

“And what consequences would those be?” the Ghost Emperor asked with open disdain.

“...I can’t beat you, but don’t think I’m afraid of you! In any case, you’re not allowed to attack my family or my friends. No one around me is off-limits. Otherwise, we’re going to have a serious problem!”

Even though Zhong Cheng knew he couldn’t win, he spoke in an extremely forceful tone. He hoped his presence alone might intimidate the Ghost Emperor.

Zhong Cheng was most afraid of this unpredictable Ghost Emperor.

He feared she wouldn’t spare even his family. He also feared she’d go around sucking other people’s yang energy, causing trouble—or even leaving corpses behind.

He had to stop her.

The first step was ideological education. He had to turn her into a proper ghost of society—one who obeyed the law and didn’t harm others.

Hadn’t Lu Xun said that education had to begin when one was young?

If you didn’t treat someone like a person when they were young, they’d never become one when they grew up.

It made perfect sense.

If he didn’t teach the Ghost Emperor to be a good ghost now, she’d never become one later.

“I didn’t realize my husband’s possessiveness was so strong,” the Ghost Emperor said seductively. “You won’t even allow me to absorb someone else’s yang energy.”

Zhong Cheng’s face filled with a giant black question mark.

How was he being possessive? He simply didn’t want her to do bad things.

Still, when he imagined her drawing close to someone else’s lips while absorbing their yang energy, with such an intimate pose…

He did feel a little sour.

Zhong Cheng had no idea why he was having such a strange thought.

Was he jealous?

Being jealous of a ghost sounded embarrassingly pathetic.

“Don’t change the subject. You’re not allowed to attack anyone else. Do you understand?” Zhong Cheng continued firmly.

He couldn’t let her lead him around by the nose.

“Sit down first.”

“I won’t sit unless you promise me.”

“Sit down.”

The Ghost Emperor’s words were practically an incantation.

Zhong Cheng sat down against his will, back straight and posture rigid.

The Ghost Emperor reached out with her slender hand and seized his chin.

Her bright expression suddenly turned sinister and terrifying. Blood-colored light gleamed in her eyes.

Although Zhong Cheng felt uneasy, he still tried his best to appear calm.

He couldn’t lose in terms of presence.

Not that it was any use.

“Husband, it seems you still don’t understand the situation,” the Ghost Emperor said coldly. “You have no right to order me around.”

“Your life and death are in my hands. All you can do is obediently submit to me.”

“And yet you still have the leisure to worry about other people.”

“But you can rest assured, husband. I’m not an unreasonable ghost.”

“As long as you let me absorb yang energy and don’t allow me to go hungry, I can guarantee that I won’t harm anyone else.”

“Really…?” Zhong Cheng asked.

“Really,” the Ghost Emperor promised.

That was good.

Zhong Cheng could finally relax.

Given the Ghost Emperor’s status, she probably disdained lying. As long as he let her absorb yang energy, she wouldn’t harm anyone else.

“By the way, I was a little hungry this morning,” the Ghost Emperor said. “So, husband, you know what that means.”

“I don’t know…”
