"I need to run to the Hunter Guild. You’ll be fine here alone?" Chen Yan asked after a phone call, clearly dealing with something urgent.

After finishing their scallion pancakes, he and Su Yue spent the whole day in the alley. Most of the time, Su Yue dozed on her sleeping bag while Chen Yan sat on a cardboard box scrolling through his phone. Occasionally, when awake, she’d chat with him—asking quiet questions about this world. Naturally, she was most alert around lunchtime. Dusk was settling in; evening rush hour loomed.

"Got it. What could go wrong? Just move my stuff across the street before you leave—I’m setting up stall," Su Yue said without hesitation, bossing him around.

Chen Yan didn’t argue. He helped her reassemble the stall at the morning spot, then pulled some change from his pocket. "Take this. Don’t run out later."

Su Yue knew small change was vital for street business. She accepted it without refusal. "Add it to my tab. I’ll settle everything later."

Chen Yan gave a wry smile. Her tab with him was already long. Knowing she hated nagging, he stayed silent, hailed a taxi, and left.

"Taking a taxi just to go out… and still claims he’s not a rich second gen," Su Yue murmured softly, glancing back.

Bored, she propped her elbows on her knees, cupped her cheeks, and watched pedestrians swell on the street. Most office workers ignored her stall—understandable. Her sign read "Toys." Adults rarely bought them anyway.

"Su Yue! Su Yue!" Just as boredom set in, that soft, sweet voice from morning rang out again.

"Su Yue~" The black-haired Vampire Princess suddenly hugged her from the side. Thanks to her natural cushioning, Su Yue felt no pain—only something soft and bouncy pressing gently against her arm twice.

"Lucifer? School’s out already?" Su Yue turned, curious. In her worldview, high schoolers didn’t dismiss until after ten p.m.

"I’ve wanted to say this since morning—'Lucifer' sounds too formal. Call me Fei. That’s what my friends use," the black-haired Vampire Princess said, clinging tightly.

"Fei…" Su Yue tested the name.

"Mm, little Su Yue~" Lucifer nuzzled her cheek happily against Su Yue’s.

"Wait—no! People are staring!" Flustered, Su Yue tried to push her away. After 2,500 years, she’d never been this close to another girl.

Passersby paused, charmed by the cuddling pair. Who doesn’t love two gorgeous girls snuggling? Especially a black-haired and white-haired Vampire Princess pressed together—utterly adorable. A few perverts even wiped away nosebleeds.

"What’s wrong? You’re running a stall! This boosts popularity," Lucifer said innocently, blinking her big eyes at Su Yue.

"I lose… fine, hug away," Su Yue muttered, turning away. She’d never handled girly coquetry well.

"Yay! Su Yue’s the best~" Lucifer beamed victoriously.

*Ugh… I know she says this to everyone… but I’m still charmed.* Miss Su Yue surrendered in round one against Lucifer’s effortless cuteness.

Side by side on the cardboard box, the black-haired and white-haired Vampire Princesses sat pressed close, chatting idly.

"So schools here end at three?" Su Yue asked, surprised.

"Yep! Plus two hours of clubs. Wasn’t it like that at your old school, little Su Yue?" Lucifer countered.

"At mine? Wake at six, dismiss at ten," Su Yue recalled with a shudder.

"Such a school exists? Poor little Su Yue—come hug me~ Let me comfort you," Lucifer seized the chance, pulling her close again.

"You just want to hug…" Su Yue thought, but the warm softness against her cheek stole her refusal.

*No, Su Yue! Don’t drown in feminine tenderness!*

*Nuzzle… nuzzle…*

Just then, a brash voice cut through: "So this is where that fat third-grader buys weapons?"

"Yep, Brother Dao—right here," a familiar voice replied eagerly.

Su Yue lifted her head from Lucifer’s arms. A wall of burly figures in elementary uniforms loomed over her stall—except for a noticeably shorter gap in the middle. Xiaofu. The boy from morning.

"Su Yue… you’re smuggling weapons?!" Lucifer gasped, hand flying to her mouth.

"Impossible! I sell magical toys…" Talismans *could* be used in combat, but her modified versions were harmless. How was this "weapons"?

"Less talk. I’m buying your entire stock today!" Brother Dao barked, radiating impatience.

"All of it?" Su Yue jumped up, delighted. *An elementary student this rich?*

"Doubt me? Axe Gang’s not broke like that third-grade Black Dragon Society trash. Wrap it up," Brother Dao sneered.

"Truly Axe Gang style, big bro! 520 talismans—1,500 yuan is fine," Su Yue calculated fast, rounding down politely.

"Hmm. You’re sharp. I’ll give 1,600. But from now on—no selling to other factions at South City Elementary No. 1," Brother Dao said, pleased by her gesture.

"Um… deal." One hundred yuan clouded her judgment. *No.1? I can still sell to No.2, No.3…*

"Good. Scan the code." Brother Dao clapped. A lackey stepped forward with a smartphone.

"Sorry… cash only," Su Yue said awkwardly. *No phone here really is trouble.*

"Cash? Where do I pull 1,600 in cash? Anyone?" Brother Dao spread his hands, scanning his crew.

"No."

"See? Who uses cash now?" He turned back to Su Yue—then froze. A wicked smirk spread. He locked eyes with Xiaofu. "Third-grade kid. That wallet’s high-end. Plenty inside, right?"

Dread washed over Xiaofu.

"Pay 1,600 to the gang. Your initiation fee." Brother Dao curled four fingers toward him.

"Why… is it always me…"
