Chapter 33: Bold Chivalry and Tender Com

The girl lay in bed, not moving an inch.

Back in middle school health class, the teacher had discreetly hinted: boys must practice moderation.

The whole class burst into laughter—even Qin Xin’s lips twitched into a faint smile.

Now? Qin Xin desperately wanted to track her down and ask:

Why didn’t you warn girls too?

This time, she was *really* in trouble.

Last night had been grueling.

Worse—she couldn’t even dwell on it. One fleeting image, and her heart would race again.

Senior Ningning was just… too flustering.

Resting was secondary. Her real mission: banish that graceful silhouette from her mind.

*Go away…*

“Junior Qin Xin, I heard you’re unwell,” Bai Ningning said, stepping inside. “Came to check on you.”

She’d borrowed the key from the dorm auntie—figuring her junior might be too weak to open the door.

Qin Xin slightly lifted her head. Saw that soft, delicate figure. Despair flooded her.

*Nope. Losing it. Hallucinating.*

“Junior? Junior?” Bai Ningning’s cool fingers brushed her forehead. “No fever.”

The warmth confirmed it—*real*. Senior Ningning was *here*.

*Even worse!*

If mental images wrecked her, how would she survive the real person? One slip-up… disaster.

“Senior Ningning… why’re you here?” Qin Xin rasped. “How’d you get the key?”

“Asked the auntie.”

“She… just *gave* it?”

“Said I was visiting a sick junior. She sized me up, nodded, handed it over.”

Of course she did. A sweet-faced girl braving the heat to care for her junior? Pure reliability.

(While handing the key, the auntie even admired Bai Ningning’s legs under those hot pants.

*What legs? Legs of chivalrous heroes and tender-hearted warriors!*)

A senior risking sweat to tend a junior? Utterly righteous.

Bai Ningning nearly teared up at her own kindness. *Today, I’ll nurse her back to health.*

She pictured Junior Qin Xin striding confidently in black thigh-highs.

*No wheelchairs. Never.*

“Senior Ningning, I’m… fine,” Qin Xin fidgeted. “Just tired. Can’t get up.”

Bai Ningning gasped. “Can’t *move* and you say fine? Where hurts?”

*Girls’ discomfort… usually lower abdomen.*

“Let me check.” Slender fingers slipped under the blanket.

Qin Xin jolted. Sucked in a sharp breath.

*Hiss—!*

“Here?” Bai Ningning pressed gently. *So reactive… even twitching.*

*Must be cramps. Period pain? Chills?*

She fetched water from the dispenser, set it bedside.

“Junior,” she murmured softly, “drink more hot water.”

Qin Xin barely whispered: “Senior Ningning… I need sleep.”

“Rest well,” Bai Ningning glanced at the pillow. *Should I offer my lap?*

But Junior looked too fragile. *Later.*

Last night, she’d filed Qin Xin under “ordinary girl”—so knee pillows felt normal. *She’s my junior, after all.*

Door closed. Key returned. Bai Ningning headed downstairs, scrolling her phone in the lounge.

Pre-freshman classes meant idle campus days.

*Ping.* A QQ message.

【President】: On campus? Free?

【Ningning Doesn't Know】: Yes.

*(But not free for otaku dances.)*

President Lingyin? *Suspicious.* Had been eyeing her for ages—wanted to see if she danced like an MMD model.

*Normal? Hardly.*

【President】: No dance. Club matter.

【President】: About your request.

Bai Ningning shot up.

【Ningning Doesn't Know】: Coming.

Since the Otaku Club’s founding—boosted by Lingyin’s connections—they’d scored multiple activity rooms. The old anime club hall now hosted management meetings.

Bai Ningning knocked.

“Who?” A boisterous guy yanked the door open. “Club business only—oh! *You.*”

He scrambled aside. “Please, come in!”

Bai Ningning blinked. “Brother Tian?”

“*Little* Brother Tian! Call me Little Brother!” he stammered.

*Jade Emperor? So he’s into asura games?*

She shook it off. “Where’s President Lingyin?”

“Arriving soon! Sit!” He rummaged the mini-fridge. “Coke? Sprite?”

“Ice Dew.”

He returned with water, beef jerky, Spicy Rabbit Snacks, lotus root cubes—snacks spilling over.

“Help yourself! Already opened.”

Bai Ningning hesitated, took a rabbit snack.

*Still… weird.*

*Tap-tap-tap.*

The door opened. President Lingyin glided in.
