Ruthless in action, sparing in words!

Han Xiangxue didn’t say a single word, but her aggression was on full display.

Yeah. She was clearly the type who excelled at pure damage output.

But third-tier shadow monsters were nothing like second-tier goblins. Their speed had been reduced, so they couldn’t dodge the bullets outright.

Even so, they kept swinging the shadow rods in their hands, knocking away the bullets aimed at their vital spots.

So after two full bursts, the shadow monsters were badly wounded, but their truly fatal weak points had all been protected.

Seeing that, Han Xiangxue immediately pulled out three more yellow talisman papers.

Fireball Spell!

Three massive fireballs shot straight at the three shadow monsters.

Han Xiangxue’s attacks chained together perfectly. They came so fast the enemy had no room to escape.

But the three shadow monsters charged forward with eerie coordination. Each one slashed out a Shadow Slash and split apart a fireball.

Then they all retreated at the same time, avoiding the follow-up explosion damage from the Fireball Spell.

Han Xiangxue could only frown slightly and slowly draw her slender sword.

She was only a third-tier Talisman Master. Casting six third-tier spells in such a short time was already impressive.

At this point, she had no choice but to wait for her mana to recover before using talisman papers again.

“Xue’er, be careful! They’re strong. Stronger than the third-tier monsters we fought before!”

“Mm!”

Han Xiangxue answered softly, then moved to Qu Yi’s side and faced off against the three shadow monsters with her.

The three shadow monsters gave them no chance at all. Taking advantage of Qu Yi’s Mana-Powered Armor being on cooldown and Han Xiangxue being out of mana, they charged straight in.

Close combat began. The shadow rods turned into shadow blades, clashing again and again against the Arcane Energy Longsword and the mana-forged rapier.

Qu Yi and Han Xiangxue stood back to back. All they could do was defend, then defend some more.

Ye Thirteen had no idea Qu Yi still had other teammates on the way. Watching Qu Yi and Han Xiangxue gradually fall into danger, he stopped planning to hide himself.

Besides, Qu Yi had long since known he was a Demonhunter.

He did hope Qu Yi and the others could be more independent. He wanted them to grow more through battle. But that didn’t mean Ye Thirteen would just stand there and watch them get hurt.

Ye Thirteen didn’t know any healing skills. If things reached a point of no return, he’d feel guilty for the rest of his life.

Just as Qu Yi and Han Xiangxue stood back to back, breathing hard with sweat glistening on them, they suddenly noticed the three shadow monsters had stopped attacking.

At that moment, Han Xiangxue seemed to read something in the eyes of the shadow monster in front of her—

Fear.

...Can monsters feel fear too?

Before Han Xiangxue could think further, Qu Yi’s voice rang out, full of shock and excitement.

“Uncle!?”

Han Xiangxue shot a quick glance from the corner of her eye, then froze on the spot.

A man in a black trench coat was standing on one shadow monster’s shoulder.

And that shadow monster showed no sign of resisting at all. It just stood there stiffly, like a wooden statue.

“You two taking on three third-tier shadow monsters was still too much.”

Qu Yi and the others were still young. They had only been Demonhunters for a few years.

If they had been seasoned third-tier Demonhunters, and still had Qu Yi and Han Xiangxue’s current spirit, they might’ve had a very good chance of winning.

But Qu Yi and Han Xiangxue were still too inexperienced. In combat and in energy reserves alike, they were both still immature.

Ye Thirteen looked at the overjoyed Qu Yi and continued with a smile,

“Alright. They can’t resist now. Kill them.”

Qu Yi and Han Xiangxue were deeply shaken by his words, but they still nodded and struck directly at the shadow monsters’ weak points.

After defeating the three shadow monsters in an unbelievably simple way, Qu Yi poked one on the ground with her Arcane Energy Longsword and asked in confusion,

“Uncle, how did you make them so obedient?”

Ye Thirteen fondly rubbed Qu Yi’s little head and said with a smile,

“That question’s still too early for you. Grow a little more. Maybe by then, even if I don’t say it, you’ll understand.”

Ye Thirteen hadn’t used any heaven-defying method. He had only locked onto the aura of those three shadow monsters.

That alone, combined with the overwhelming presence of a Royal-tier Demon Hunter and the godlike control he had just shown over their muscle memory, left the three shadow monsters not daring to move at all.

It was like a paramecium being stared down by a terrifying predator. Not even a trace of resistance could arise in it. It would only want a quick death.

But Ye Thirteen felt that if he explained it like that, Qu Yi and Han Xiangxue would probably think he was just showing off.

And that wouldn’t be good for their growth either.

After all, they were only rookie third-tier Demonhunters. Reaching his level was still far too early for them.

To keep them from aiming too high too soon, Ye Thirteen chose not to explain.

But when Qu Yi heard that, she puffed out her cheeks with an unhappy look.

“I’ve told you so many times already. I’m not little anymore!”

“Mm.”

Ye Thirteen didn’t argue. He only smiled and nodded slightly.

Just then, he suddenly felt an icy, piercing gaze from behind him.

Ye Thirteen turned around and saw Han Xiangxue staring at him dead-on, looking like she might pull out her phone and call the cops at any second, saying some shady uncle was luring little girls to go look at goldfish...

Ye Thirteen was feeling awkward when Qu Yi’s hands had already skillfully slipped through his arm, hooking onto it as she brought him over to Han Xiangxue.

“Let me introduce you. This is my best friend since childhood, and now one of my team members too—Han Xiangxue!

You can call her Xue’er too, just like I do~”

Before Ye Thirteen could say anything, Han Xiangxue fixed him with a cold stare.

And somehow, at that moment, Ye Thirteen actually understood exactly what the white-haired beauty’s eyes were saying.

Try it and I’ll kill you.

Ye Thirteen: “...”

Not wanting to provoke this iceberg beauty who seemed to have swallowed a barrel of gunpowder, Ye Thirteen changed the subject.

“Qu Yi, you said you had other teammates too, right?”

“Yeah, she—”

Before Qu Yi could finish, the familiar roar of a motorcycle engine sounded again.

With another stylish drift, a black-haired, long-straight beauty jumped off a black bike, carrying a dark heavy cannon on her shoulder as she ran over shouting,

“My foolish sisters, the cutest beautiful girl in the world has come to save you~”

Ye Thirteen: “...”

Qu Yi: “...”

Han Xiangxue: “...”

The flustered Lai Yingxin suddenly noticed the atmosphere was a little weird.

Way too quiet.

She lifted her little head from behind the sight of the mana cannon, only to see Qu Yi, Han Xiangxue, and a handsome uncle all staring at her with strange looks.

Then she remembered what she had just said, and her pretty face instantly turned red.

Aaaah, this is so embarrassing!

Tomorrow, I’m applying to immigrate to the moon!

...

Thanks to Qu Yi’s efforts as a socially anxious mediator, Lai Yingxin finally gave up on the idea of emigrating to the moon.

But this wasn’t the place to chat, so Qu Yi suggested they head back to the base in Sector 069 first.

They had just finished a fight, after all. It was the perfect time to go back, rest up, and resupply.
