Chapter 32: Student Council President Xi

Li Xiaoyao’s sharp nose was so close it nearly brushed my cheek. Nearby, a few girls pointed at us excitedly, their faces lit with knowing smiles.

Hey, hey—what on earth are they fantasizing about?!

Sure, on paper, Li Xiaoyao and I fit the classic couple trope: one tall, one short; one handsome and robust, the other delicate and slender; one sunny and outgoing, the other quiet and reserved—

But we are *not* like that!

I shoved him away firmly, arms crossed defensively. “Li Xiaoyao, don’t be so flamboyant, okay?”

“Hah, we’re both guys—what’s the big deal?” Ever oblivious, Li Xiaoyao waved a hand dismissively. “Anyway, watch yourself. The Student Council’s strict, but it’s not some man-eating place. I’m off to team practice. Catch you later.”

He left—but his words stuck with me.

*The scent of a girl…* He must’ve meant leftover makeup, right?

Before yesterday’s shoot, that makeup artist Tony slathered all sorts of stuff on my face. At home, I had no remover—just washed with soap. Of course it didn’t fully come off. Residue must remain.

Naturally, you’d need to be up close to smell it. With Li Xiaoyao’s thick-skulled nature, he probably wouldn’t notice anyway.

But what about later? If every weekend I dress as a girl for photoshoots and wear makeup… won’t it eventually give me away…?

Lost in anxious haze, I’d already stepped into the Student Council building, standing blankly in the vast hall. A grand crystal chandelier gleamed overhead. Students and teachers flowed in and out of the elevator—no one spared me a glance.

As a guy, I really had zero presence: skinny like an enoki mushroom, messy unkempt hair, delicate features half-hidden behind plain glasses. Like a tiny bean sprout squeezed among cabbages—easily overlooked.

Wait… which room was I even supposed to go to? No one told me.

Suddenly, a mysterious male voice whispered behind me: “Room 301.”

“Huh?”

“You’re Lin Xiaoxi, right? She’s waiting for you in 301.”

I heard it clearly—but saw no one. A single word flashed in my mind:

*Shadow Guard.*

Legend said the Student Council building was guarded by Shadow Guards: silent as darkness, traceless yet everywhere. Cross the line? They’d strike without mercy.

Haide Middle School’s Student Council… truly no ordinary place.

I took a shaky breath, nerves tightening. Elevator to the third floor. Found the door marked “301,” beneath five gilded characters:

PRESIDENT’S OFFICE

So… the Student Council President wanted to see me.

I’d only heard rumors: a sharp second-year upperclassman, stunningly beautiful. Beyond that? Nothing. I had zero ties to the Council.

Why would someone so lofty summon *me*? I’m not even a member…

Heart pounding, I gave a soft knock.

Knock, knock, knock…

“Come in.”

A cool, aloof girl’s voice—faintly familiar.

Hesitant, instincts prickling, I pushed the door open carefully.

Inside: an elegantly furnished office. Behind a polished rosewood desk sat a girl with long black hair and glasses.

She sat poised, porcelain skin like frost-kissed jade—noble, icy, untouchable. A flower atop a high peak. A lily in a secluded valley. Sacred. Pure. Even with her ample figure, not a single lewd thought dared surface.

She seemed an angel descended to earth. I nearly lost myself in her grace.

For a heartbeat, I mistook her for a princess of some ancient realm—radiating innate nobility that made men instinctively kneel, awaiting her mercy.

Gentle yet commanding. Proud. A chill beneath the elegance… strangely captivating.

But… why did she look so familiar?

Wait—*that cold aura*!

It hit me like lightning. This wasn’t just familiarity! Snapping back, I froze.

She… she was *her*—the devilish young CEO who humiliated and teased me endlessly yesterday?!

All she’d done was tie her hair and wear glasses—and the transformation was staggering! No wonder I couldn’t place her yesterday… yet felt that eerie déjà vu!

“You’re finally here,” the girl said coldly, lifting her gaze.

“W-why are *you* here?!” My finger trembled as I pointed, voice cracking with shock and fury.

She removed her glasses. A devilish smile curled her lips, sending ice down my spine. “What? One day apart, and you’ve forgotten the rules already… Xiaoxi-doggy?”

Unbelievable. The tormentor from yesterday… was Haide School’s Student Council President?!

My eyes dropped to the metal nameplate on her desk. For the first time, I saw her name:

Xiao Qingqing

I *had* heard it before.

Right—classmates in the Council once mentioned her: an ice queen, ruthlessly efficient, never warm to anyone. Rumor said she was the daughter of a corporate conglomerate’s chairman. A pampered daughter of heaven. The absolute cream of the crop.

I *had* seen her—during enrollment. Principal speaking onstage; she stood quietly among the faculty at the back. Even from the far rear of the field, she’d struck me as breathtaking. Months passed. She stayed behind the scenes. No wonder I didn’t recognize her.

Her voice? I’d caught it two or three times on school announcements—just fragments. A hazy memory.

Noticing my daze, the devilish girl’s lips curved into a cold, elegant smirk. “Xiaoxi-doggy… looks like you finally remember who I am?”

“P-president?” My voice wavered. I shrank back instinctively. “P-president… why did you call me here? What do you want?”

She didn’t answer. Her large eyes narrowed dangerously. Slowly, she flicked her delicate tongue over her rosy lips.

Wait—*that pleased look, like a predator before the feast?!* Is she gonna eat me right here?!
