21. The Essence of Solitary Craving

This world’s gone completely mad…

Jianglai’s mind went blank. Electric currents seemed to surge through her entire body as she trembled, stumbling backward. But with every step she retreated, Siyina pressed closer.

*Into girls?*

Jianglai had always liked girls—she couldn’t deny that. But she couldn’t let Siyina run wild like this. All she wanted now was to escape this shameless woman before her. “My life’s none of your business…”

“Really none of my business?”

Jianglai watched her own slender hand, guided by Siyina, slide over her narrow waist. Siyina’s fingers kept drifting upward, inch by inch.

Siyina had spent years suffocating under restraint, burying every desire deep inside. Now that she finally held control, she threw caution to the wind.

“I just touched that girl like this. But my body’s better than hers. Since you’ve touched me too… doesn’t that make us accomplices? Honestly, I don’t care if *you* take the lead or *I* do.”

Ever since becoming a woman, Jianglai had barely explored her own body—let alone endured such intimate, deliberate caresses. Siyina’s boldness left her breathless.

Jianglai’s favorable impression of Siyina had already shattered during that elevator incident. Now, this behavior only deepened her distrust. She yanked her hand back as if burned, her face draining of color. Her usual icy composure vanished, replaced by sheer panic.

She wanted to flee. She wanted someone to find them. But glancing around, she realized—*this was her own doing*.

Siyina blocked the only exit, trapping her in this corner. Every path seemed to lead back to Siyina’s grasp.

Siyina couldn’t suppress her grin. *Why does such a stunning beauty react so fiercely… just from a waist touch?*

She’d finally found someone who matched her taste perfectly. She wouldn’t let go.

Jianglai was like an untouchable butterfly—pure, ethereal, untouched by the world. That very purity made Siyina ache to corrupt it. To see that cold, composed face flush with shame. To watch her fall from her ivory tower into the mud. To drag her down into the same sin.

Pinned in the narrow corner, Jianglai’s back pressed against icy tile walls. Even through double layers of clothing, the cold seeped in. This was the company’s most abandoned spot—no foot traffic, no heating. Yet Siyina radiated warmth like a furnace, her heat washing over Jianglai.

Instinctively, Jianglai tightened her coat. But Siyina’s hands reached for her own buttons.

“Don’t you want to touch again?”

Siyina slowly unfastened her blazer, revealing black lace lingerie beneath. A wave of seductive fragrance hit Jianglai—warm, intoxicating, utterly unlike her sister-in-law’s scent.

*This is absurd.*

Trapped in a corner, she should be the victim about to be violated. Instead, she was the one *forced* to assault another. If *she’d* been the one taken advantage of, she’d have fought back instantly. But shouting now? Impossible. If anyone found them—her clothes intact, Siyina disheveled—everyone would assume *she* was the predator.

She was the one being coerced… yet Siyina looked like the victim. Her eyes shimmered like peach blossoms dipped in spring water, so pitifully beautiful Jianglai’s gaze darkened. Her thoughts wavered.

Before Jianglai could stammer a reply, hands pinned her shoulders. She was slammed against the wall, trapped.

She instinctively pushed back—but her palms met soft, feverish skin. She recoiled as if scalded.

*Men and women shouldn’t touch!*

Siyina’s bare skin, moments ago hidden under fabric, burned against Jianglai’s icy fingers. The heat flustered her.

Siyina’s flawless jade skin and black lace lingerie gleamed in the cool air—a feast for the eyes. Jianglai bit her lower lip but kept her face cold, her resistance weakening.

Just as she braced for surrender—

Siyina pulled out her phone and pressed it into Jianglai’s hand. “Unlock it.”

The abrupt anticlimax froze Jianglai’s racing heart.

“Can we exchange contacts? I’d love to be friends.” Siyina’s smile turned playful. “And if you ever want to be kept by me… just message me.”

Like a storm, Siyina had raged in—overwhelming, unstoppable—then vanished just as fast. Only emptiness remained.

*All that buildup… just for contacts?*

Jianglai numbly handed over her phone. She had two numbers: one for work, one personal. Since her work account already had Siyina, she added her to the personal one this time.

Her own obedient surrender confused her. Was she giving her number to end the harassment… or secretly hoping for another message?

She didn’t know herself. She’d always played the reserved, conservative role. But a truly cold, proper person wouldn’t drunkenly follow strangers to hotels for one-night stands after bar-hopping.

After the beautiful woman left, Siyina watched her slender back disappear. She’d always read people well. From this encounter alone, she’d glimpsed the truth beneath Jianglai’s icy mask: a lonely, starving soul.

Like a widow long deprived of warmth, every soft refusal had been mere pretense.
