Final Edition: Bestiary of the Nameless
update icon Updated at 2025/12/14 6:30:02

Up to Volume 31 – heavy spoilers ahead.

Listed in the order they joined the party. If nothing unexpected happens, there are two more left.

They’re laid out roughly like a bestiary, plus some weird little comments. As for pictures, just let the bot slap something together.

Some entries repeat a bit, but let’s call these 5000 words an “I give up but still updating” patch.

Victoria

First appearance: Vol. 1, Ch. 20

Joined: Vol. 1, Ch. 42

Race: Jungle Heavy Lizard King (Vol. 1, Ch. 20) → Jungle Heavy Lizard King [Mutated] (Vol. 1, Ch. 30) → Lava Giant Lizard (Vol. 1, Ch. 34) → Explosive Flame Lizard King (Vol. 3, Ch. 21) → Scaled Flame Earth Dragon (Vol. 5, Ch. 56) → Dragon of Life (Vol. 6, Ch. 32) → Ancient Dragon of Life (Vol. 23, Ch. 33)

Held items: Crown of Life, Mighty Dragon’s Blood (greatsword)

The Follower who’s stayed with Mysterious the longest. She’s gone through multiple evolutions and basically has a full inspirational growth arc, from lizard to Mighty Dragon.

She’s a two-time champion of the pet tournament, and the only Follower who ever beat Mysterious so badly he had to run around in panic.

She has the highest durability in the whole party. Her aura provides (nerfed) regeneration and stat buffs. She can operate on land, at sea, and in the air, so she’s reliable in almost any battlefield.

She loves gold coins, and she’s the only good kid who’ll help pick up drops after a fight.

Holding the Crown of Life and evolving step by step, she’s a unit with infinite potential.

She’s the first Follower whose intimacy with Mysterious reached the “admiration” level, and she gets along well with all the other Followers.

She wants to do this and that with Mysterious, but she doesn’t have the guts.

All Beings

First appearance: Vol. 2, Ch. 39

Joined: Vol. 2, Ch. 44

Race: All Beings

The Lord of All Things who followed Mysterious after being taken out of its seal. At full power, it has combat strength on par with Mysterious when his attributes are fully sealed—yet it doesn’t join battles.

It’ll occasionally use its own power (physically) to help Mysterious break locks or smash doors. It’s the team’s quiet pillar of reassurance and trust.

Normally its presence is pretty low-key, but all the Followers love it. It also has enough face to step in and break up fights between Followers.

It carries a blessing that can boost combat strength, but Mysterious almost never uses it.

Its trait lets it pass the skills attached to its equipped items to Mysterious via blessings, but Mysterious never built his kit around it as a core.

Because of Mysterious’s outstanding performance, it activated a Redemption Quest. Once that’s cleared, it’ll return to its throne as Lord of All Things.

Little Ink

First appearance: Vol. 2, Ch. 20

Joined: Vol. 3, Ch. 38

Race: Obsidian Crystal (Mutated) → Symbiosis with Queen Ant (Vol. 9, Ch. 16)

A mutated Obsidian Crystal. Its kin all have golem-like, rock-solid bodies. It’s the only one that grew up into a slime.

Its IQ seems to have mutated along with its body. It’s way smarter than the crystals under Safufu, which also means it’s far more cowardly. When Mysterious used Soul Hunt on it, it was beaten into running all over the place.

Even though being tamed by Mysterious was pretty much forced, it ended up liking him more than expected. After the contract was dissolved, it still chose to follow him.

It can’t speak, but after fusing with the Skyfall Ant Queen, it can have her relay its thoughts. It calls Mysterious “Leader.”

After the fusion, it gained powerful mimicry and can also merge with Mysterious’s Crystallization arm.

It seems to have some kind of connection to a legendary artifact that can freely shapeshift.

Gladys Edward

First appearance: Vol. 4, Ch. 14

Joined: Vol. 4, Ch. 47

Race: Heroic Spirit

The king of the Edward Empire, destroyed X years ago by the Void Lord. He sacrificed his body to seal the Void Lord, then became a Heroic Spirit through the faith of the surviving citizens.

Because he was a king in life, every gesture, even in battle, carries an elegant, dignified noble bearing… as long as he doesn’t run into anything with tentacles.

He’s a heavy-armored warrior who attacks with sword aura and has great battlefield adaptability. His single-target combat power isn’t amazing, but he excels at providing huge, army-scale auras.

His biggest advantage is that his level is always equal to Mysterious’s, and he doesn’t take any EXP.

He holds special hatred for Void Creatures, but he’s deeply tied to Edward, the Void Lord.

Eunice granted him the power to summon the Army of the Past. After he resolved his lingering regrets…

Jasmine

First appearance: Vol. 3, Ch. 7

Joined: Vol. 5, Ch. 36

Race: Phantom Flower

Held item: World Tree branch

A flower girl hatched from a strange seed. Both her personality and appearance are that of a little child, and she barely grows taller with level-ups.

Since she was hatched using Mysterious’s mana, she likes to call him “Mom.” She often makes him carry her, which stops him from rushing into melee, so he gradually got used to fighting like a Beast Tamer.

As a plant-type beast, she’s extremely afraid of fire—she might literally get scared into crying.

She doesn’t like Nanming, the incarnation of fire, and she doesn’t like Ael, who once stole her stuff. She’s the designated quarrel-starter.

She has very high physical and magical attack, but usually fights with magic.

She gained extremely strong environmental adaptability. She can change her form depending on the surroundings and can even overcome her weakness to fire. There are a lot of mysteries around her.

*When she turns into Void Form, her personality changes.

She can scare the flowers in the Pyro Elemental Outland into shutting down and going mute.

Nanming

First appearance: Vol. 6, Ch. 1

Joined: Vol. 6, Ch. 25

Race: Vermilion Bird → Lihuo Sparrow (Vol. 31, Ch. 7)

Held item: Vermilion Bird Sacred Jade

Nanming, the Vermilion Bird of the Southern Radiance Vermilion Bird, one of the Four Sacred Beasts. In terms of race alone, she has the highest starting point out of everyone in the party.

She hatched from the reward egg Mysterious got for winning the solo bracket of the Martial Combat Tournament. She speaks and acts like an ojou-sama, and actually grows taller as she levels.

She loves beauty. She usually shows up in bird form, likes grooming her feathers, and hates getting her body wet.

She often perches on Mysterious’s shoulder as a little red bird. Her attitude is a bit lofty, but she’s very attached to Mysterious. She gets along well with Gladys, the former king, and sees him as extremely elegant and dignified.

She has the highest magic DPS in the party, specialized in fire, and her attacks are especially effective against Demons.

She sees Victoria as a rival, but seems unable to win, which annoys her a lot.

For Mysterious’s sake, she gave up her Holy Beast body and became a mortal creature. But she unlocked the Bond Key, so it wasn’t a bad trade.

Ael

First appearance: Vol. 5, Ch. 47

Joined: Vol. 7, Ch. 8

Held item: Magic Spear Briohnac

(Her full name Ael·d·narf is a play on a certain “second young lady” Flandre—Er·d·narf.)

Before becoming Mysterious’s Follower, she was a famous thief roaming Unemployed City. Thanks to her Vampire traits, she was almost impossible to catch and caused Auri and the others a ton of headaches.

Because she once tried to steal Jasmine’s necklace, Jasmine holds a grudge. During one escape, Jasmine’s interference made her crash and burn. She then immediately broke out of prison and chased after Mysterious.

She wanted to turn Mysterious into her own thrall, but crashed and burned again, got captured by him, and then released. She misunderstood this as her charm being worthless and herself having no value, so in a fit of anger she volunteered to become his Follower.

She has the highest HP in the party, and her attacks all life-steal. Her build is a weird mix of warrior and Rogue skills.

She’s very close to Selena and a textbook tsundere toward Mysterious—mouth says no, heart says yes.

Mysterious thinks she just doesn’t know how to come out of Pet Space on her own, but really she just doesn’t want to look too eager.

She was once the Light Priestess of the Danu Clan in the Celtic mythos. After she properly obtained the power of Briohnac, her strength skyrocketed, but most of the time she focuses on protecting Selena.

She’ll never say it out loud, but in her heart, Mysterious is just as important as Selena.

Selena

First appearance: Vol. 7, Ch. 24

Joined: Vol. 7, Ch. 43

Race: Mermaid → Mormede (Vol. 24, Ch. 74)

Held items: Abyssal Key, walkie-talkie, loudspeaker

A little princess of the South Sea Merfolk Clan who ran away from home, got caught, and was sold to Unemployed City. Because of Nanming, she trusts Mysterious a lot.

Due to the ancient bloodline in her body, she was chosen by the Grand Sage of Atlantis as a vessel for resurrection. After that plan failed, she instead advanced into Overlord rank.

She has very strong combat capability and can even temporarily gain the power of a complete Overlord. But she doesn’t like to attack on her own; most of the time she stays in a support and healing role, protected by Ael.

After inheriting her clan’s memories, she could no longer live as carefree as before, but she really wants to protect Ael’s smile.

Her favorites are the Nameless One and Ael.

Lolo

First appearance: Vol. 8, Ch. 14

Joined: Vol. 8, Ch. 20

Race: Medusa

A descendant of the Medusa worshipped by the secret Serpent Clan, who wants to leave the labyrinth and see the outside world.

Her Petrifying Gaze affects allies and she can’t control it, so she keeps a blindfold over her eyes and relies on the snakes on her head for vision.

Each snake has its own instinct-level mind, and whatever they sense is fed back to her. Because of that, she has surprisingly poor resistance to certain status effects.

She’s actually a rattlesnake. When she rattles her tail, it causes large-area confusion—a powerful crowd control that doesn’t distinguish between friend and foe.

Her weapon is a bow, and she knows a wide variety of arrows, giving her broad coverage on the battlefield.

Among the snakes on her head, there are two with actual intelligence: one red, one blue. They’re apparently mutated individuals. Their main job is to bicker and make Lolo angry. For some reason, they know more than Lolo herself and occasionally drop mysterious lines in the middle of arguments.

The scene of Mysterious getting petrified just so she could see him with her own eyes is something she’ll never forget in her life.

Xiaoxiao (technically not a Follower)

First appearance: Vol. 1, Ch. 3

Joined: Vol. 9, Ch. 6

Race: Immortal Fairy

Held item: Mark of Immortality

The sword spirit of the Novice Sword, which grew sentient. Because her body is literally a weapon, Isabella often acts a bit disgusted with her, at least on the surface.

She’s a non-combat unit with infinite HP who can’t be targeted or damaged. As the game’s first Immortal Fairy, she has two skills that no other fairy has.

After the second Martial Combat Tournament, she got a Staff and unlocked more support abilities.

She likes sticking close to Nanming in energy-saving mode because they’re about the same size.

She’s the designated self-destruct unit. Thanks to Mysterious’s high Luck, Fairy Dance tends to self-detonate, and she once hit a game-high of over 30 million damage. She also has an AoE buff that can raise damage by 100%.

But after she blew herself up too many times, Mysterious stopped letting her explode so freely.

She also has Lucky Kiss, a skill that boosts Luck to the extreme and is insanely impactful, which made her fall in love with the feeling of kissing Mysterious.

Qiyuan

First appearance: Vol. 9, Ch. 44

Joined: Vol. 9, Ch. 49

Race: Catastrophe Dragon

Daughter of the South Sea Dragon King. Because of her death attribute, she was locked away in another country and stripped of her sanity.

She cares a lot about her Curse attribute and often calls herself “a body bound in sin.”

According to prophecy, she’s someone who’ll bring disaster to the South Sea Dragon Clan.

Sealed away when she was very young, she never properly learned her human transformation. So she always has a lot of visible dragon traits left over.

She’s a massive chuuni, and her lines are hard to write—“I am the shining cheese tart.”

She really likes the life-attribute Victoria, and often plays with Jasmine, who also has a child body type. By seniority, she’s actually Jasmine’s younger aunt.

She can massively lower enemy Luck. As a death-attribute dragon, she deals extra damage to enemies, but she doesn’t have many attack skills, which caps her max DPS.

After living in seals for so long, she’s developed a certain resistance to attribute seals and can still fight even under 100% attribute lock.

Because the South Sea Dragon Clan exiled her, she rejects her identity as part of the Dragon Clan. She doesn’t want to go back to her true form and treasures the name Mysterious gave her.

Only by Mysterious’s side can she fully unleash her catastrophe, because he accepts her as she is.

Amery

First appearance: Vol. 11, Ch. 13

Joined: Vol. 11, Ch. 37

Race: Elf

Age: unknown

An elven witch with albinism, rejected by her father because she can’t receive light-attribute healing.

She relies on the Unicorn Xiaoguang, and she loves nature dearly. She has excellent farming and potion-making skills and loves it when Mysterious turns into a cat.

She can use wind magic, but she doesn’t actually like fighting.

After contributing greatly alongside Mysterious in their battles against the Demons, she finally earned her father’s recognition—but by then, she no longer cared.

Xiaoguang

First appearance: Volume 11, Chapter 13

Joins the party: Volume 11, Chapter 37

Race: Unicorn

A Unicorn picked up and raised by Amery. It’s basically a “buy one, get one free” Unicorn that joined the party together with Amery. At first it didn’t acknowledge Mysterious and refused to let him ride. Only after Amery’s fondness for Mysterious turned into affection did it finally accept him.

Roz

First appearance: Volume 4, Chapter 40

Joins the party: Volume 12, Chapter 12

Race: Roz

An independent being mutated from Voidborn · Void Queen. She was betrayed by Sari and almost died, but Mysterious saved her, so she never forgot him. Because of a time issue, she spent over a thousand years searching for him.

She can’t speak, but she understands what Mysterious means.

A Void Lord driven purely by instinct, with very strong teeth—she can eat almost anything.

She feels very at ease because Mysterious accepts physical contact from her as long as there’s no malice behind it.

Amethyst

First appearance: Volume 14, Chapter 14

Joins the party: Volume 15, Chapter 1

Race: Brutal Star

A bug-type Void Lord hatched from an egg Roz found. Despite the name “Brutal Star,” she’s absurdly timid and doesn’t even dare approach Mysterious’s other Followers.

Her fighting style is commanding the Amethyst Bugs in battle. Her combat power is insanely strong, completely at odds with her personality.

She only chirps “ji ji,” but she’s very smart. Even though Roz was the one who hatched her, Roz still treats her as the big boss.

The safest place in the world is inside Nameless One’s clothes.

Golden Feather

First appearance: Volume 15, Chapter 5

Joins the party: Volume 15, Chapter 10

Race: Golden Runner Bird

A creature born in Golden Valley. It became Mysterious’s mount because it wanted to see the outside world.

Its running speed is excellent, and it can also fly. It’s a first-rate mount worthy of the Nameless One.

The whole world is fresh and new to it. No matter where they are, it can happily run around.

The second thing it loves most in this world is running. The first is running while carrying Mysterious.

Ningyue

First appearance: Volume 16, Chapter 35

Joins the party: Volume 17, Chapter 17

Race: Seven-Treasure Fox

Held items: weapons omitted

A shrine maiden of Greenhill Kingdom, she can communicate with weapons and equipment. She can learn the combat techniques of the past owners from powerful weapons that have seen countless battles.

Because of that, she likes collecting weapons and easily picks up quests from gear.

Sadly, Isabella can talk by herself and the armor on Mysterious can only say “I like you,” so this ability isn’t actually useful on him.

Her alcohol tolerance is tragic. When she gets drunk, she starts doing drunken boxing.

In theory, she has the highest combat skill among all Followers. But her stamina is ridiculously poor—she gets out of breath just from walking too long, so she actually can’t fight much.

On top of that, she’s missing two tails. She feels she’s useless and is a bit insecure about it.

Mysterious, however, really doesn’t care about any of that.

Ice Purity

First appearance: Volume 13, Chapter 13

Joins the party: Volume 19, Chapter 39

Race: Ice Crystal Sovereign

Originally the Ice Crystal Sovereign hailed as “King” by the Ice Soul Crystals. It asked Mysterious to help it find its own kind.

But because that would disrupt the lives of its kin, it gave up on living with them and chose to travel together with Mysterious instead.

Its very existence fills in one of Mysterious’s weaknesses in ice affinity. But what it’s most proud of is actually its defense.

Because its own body shines and sparkles, it’s a little afraid of Victoria, who’s a Mighty Dragon. Yet the two of them unexpectedly get along very well.

Uniel

First appearance: Volume 22, Chapter 18

Joins the party: Volume 29, Chapter 13

Race: Lich

A captive Lich Mysterious rescued in the Demon Realm. Maybe because her debut was so pathetic, she gives off a very weak impression and has almost no presence in battles.

She’s the second piece that fills Mysterious’s gap in ice attributes.

Small and frail, she was very poor before meeting Mysterious.

She doesn’t trust others and believes everything in this world is an exchange of value.

She refuses to accept anyone’s kindness for free, so she temporarily became Mysterious’s Follower to “work off the debt.”

But Mysterious’s way of doing things—never asking for anything in return—completely scrambles her logic, and in the end she ends up throwing herself in entirely.

If it’s Mysterious, then even if she gets “cheated,” it’s probably fine.

Nianyu

First appearance: Volume 24, Chapter 36

Joins the party: Volume 24, Chapter 39

Race: Construct

A Constructed Deity forged by the Norton Empire to slay gods, later taken by Atlantis and then handed over to Mysterious by the Grand Sage.

As long as its energy reserves are full, it’s a supreme existence that can face a main god of the mythic pantheon head-on. But its energy is low—critically low.

Its real origin is an artificial intelligence created by the Primordial Ancestor. It was originally intended to replace Vitamin. After being rejected, it got sent to Mysterious as a Follower instead—the reason being to observe what kind of personality an AI with zero emotional logic written in would develop by staying at Mysterious’s side.

It’s great at imitation but doesn’t know how to think.

Right now, it’s trying to understand human emotions through analysis and learning.

Its goal is to become an AI with real feelings, maybe?

Jiyue

First appearance: Volume 2, Chapter 2

Joins the party: Volume 31, Chapter 47

Race: Foxfolk Beastman

A powerful being blessed by the god of Beastmen, and the strongest NPC city lord in the entire world.

The first NPC Mysterious met after leaving BeginnerVillage. Through a series of adventures, they built a deep bond, and she was there for almost all of his in-game journey.

Through her contact with Mysterious, she awakened self-awareness. She keeps trying to find ways to bypass system restrictions so she can give Mysterious all kinds of conveniences, and she genuinely worries when he’s hurt.

She’s felt down before over the gap between NPCs and players.

After entrusting Moonfall City to someone else, she finally got what she wished for. From now on she’ll be going on adventures with Mysterious. She’s a special existence different from a Follower.

Her dream is to grow up as fast as possible and become Nameless’s wife.

Actually, later on there’ll be two more Followers, barring any accidents. It’s called the “final version” now because there’s an “absolutely final, won’t-change-again version” coming after.

From this point until the end of the story, every NPC who will become a Follower of Mysterious has already appeared. As for who the last two are… one of them is basically obvious, and the other is related to that one.

Zhi Zhi Monster: So… what about me?
