"As for this condition, well, it’s…"

I walked toward the classroom. Around me were many freshmen like me heading to the teaching building. Even a few sophomore girls mixed in, grabbing breakfast while briskly munching on bread.

I bet they, like me, weren’t used to checking the time after the new semester started and almost got late.

Thinking of this, I really should thank Thousand Feather Sister. Without her, I might have had to cast Runic Spells to rush.

Acceleration Runic Spell, Tailwind Runic Spell, and even the Windbreaker Runic Spell I’d never used. These were small spells I’d noted in my notebook before school—ones allowed in front of ordinary people. Medium or large spells would cause a big scene and bring trouble.

Hmm, having a roommate like Thousand Feather Sister is truly an honor. Though we parted just minutes ago, I can’t stop thinking about her.

Remembering the collar around my neck and that condition… my cheeks gradually flushed. So… so direct, Thousand Feather Sister!

"You must promise me one condition, Wu."

"That condition is this: after your entrance test ends at noon, come alone to the Student Council office building. Find me in the president’s private room. I’ll give you a big surprise, Wu~"

Th-this is practically another trap! But I simply can’t refuse it… QAQ

I’d dashed straight out of the dorm then, not daring to glance back at Thousand Feather Sister even once.

I was back near the academic area Xialin showed me yesterday. Seven- or eight-story buildings blocked the view easily. In front of the teaching building, on the playground pillars, hung two huge banners in flowing calligraphy: "Welcome" and "New Students."

I specifically looked at the Jinghui Building. Its intoxicating fragrance hadn’t faded despite the crowd today. Instead, the faint, elusive scent seeped into everyone, making them search constantly for its source.

I slipped out of the dazed crowd quickly. On the way, I’d noticed boys sneaking weird glances at me.

Even some senior girls gave me outright inappropriate looks—suspicious gazes like sizing up a lamb about to be slaughtered, ready to pounce.

I’m no bleating lamb! I’m a super Demon Hunter who could take on all of you single-handedly!

Though I can’t reveal any of that… (︶︹︺) Sigh.

I reached the second floor. Checking the floor sign, I saw Class 136 was on the third. I rummaged through my handbag and quietly deactivated the Tranquility Runic Spell I’d prepared.

I’d set hidden Surveillance Runic Spells in every stairwell. They’d capture images of anyone with magic power passing carelessly—so I could identify those scarier targets Thousand Feather Sister mentioned.

As for her warnings, I’m not afraid. Eliminating Monsters that threaten ordinary people is a Demon Hunter’s duty. I’ve long accepted that.

But Thousand Feather Sister is different. In my heart, she… isn’t an ordinary Bloodline member. She’s special. I could never attack her. At noon, I’ll find her and clear up our relationship…

Without realizing it, I’d reached the third floor. Just past the stairs was the classroom I’d likely stay in for four years.

In middle school, classes rarely changed unless something unexpected happened. It caused trouble for everyone—students, teachers, classmates—a real hassle.

Walking down the corridor toward the front door, I tried peeking through the windows to see my classroom. But the semi-circular windows were fully covered by sky-blue curtains inside. Only faint voices drifted out.

I stopped at the door, took a deep breath, and comforted myself:

"It’s fine, Wu. They’re just ordinary classmates. Nothing scary!"

I steadied my nerves, hand on the doorknob, ready to pull it open and step in. But—

The door suddenly swung open from inside. Before I could prepare, flustered, a warm, friendly voice greeted me like an old friend reunited:

"Welcome to Class 136, our new friend!"
