Floating Wood here—your resident lazy, terminally-chill salted-fish author.

You’ve probably guessed what I’m about to say from the title...

This book I started on a whim is about to go up on the shelves.

First, I want to thank my editor, Chaoyan, the great Ziliang who handled the illustrations, and my “update-pushing” honey duke, Evil Young Master.

Sorry for causing you all so much trouble.

——————

When it comes to writing, I’m a complete newbie. At the beginning I just wrote straight from start to finish without even checking once. So to everyone who read those early chapters—sorry about that, really.

Now, normally I’ll outline first, hit the word count, then go back and polish. I’ll keep a few chapters in reserve too, so if I get a better idea I can still change things in time.

Before signing a contract, I can tweak stuff whenever. After signing, edits have to go through review. Once it’s VIP, the author loses the right to change things directly and has to go through the editor.

So I’ll apologize in advance: if there are a few typos...

Well... honestly, that’s kind of normal too!

I’ll still try my best to make sure the main text has no typos and no clunky sentences.

Right now I’m still really slow at typing. It can take me four hours to finish one chapter. I’m nothing like those “human code machines” in the group who can write fast and well.

Maybe in another two months I’ll be like that too. A book keeps getting refined, and I’m also constantly improving.

Back on topic: this book has now been rated A-level. To be honest, that already feels like an amazing result to me.

I mean, I get an official black-and-white illustration every month to drool over. Isn’t that awesome?

As for character designs—light novels live and die by their character designs.

But unfortunately, the artist I found has way too many commissions on hand, and being lazy is kind of in an artist’s DNA, so... yeah...

But the final product definitely won’t let you down. On that point, please rest easy. Just give it a bit more time, okay? Mwah.

This is a story about a yandere being raised, and a yandere being healed. It’s also a story of saving and being saved.

Of course, all of this is built on top of a relaxed, everyday slice-of-life.

Because it’s written in first person, some things can’t move as fast as they would in third person. Certain events are already on the page, but there’s still a long way to go before the male lead learns about them.

So up to now, Xia Tong’s feelings for the male lead haven’t really changed. But Fang Yiyi and Jiang Chen have gone through some subtle shifts, and Xiaoxi’s feelings toward them have also changed in her own way. Most of these threads are already planted; from here on, I just need to light them up.

After all, “yandere” is a pretty special kind of mental state, so I’d rather let them face their changing feelings properly.

The plot hasn’t fully unfolded yet. Some characters’ stories haven’t been told at all, including the new characters teased earlier—they still need some time before they officially enter the stage.

Also because of the first-person POV, the three parental side stories are very important. Right now there are: Ye Xi and Ye Xi’s parents, Xia Tong and Jiang Chen, and Fang Yiyi’s parents.

Those will be released at the right moment.

The male lead is still just a high schooler. Sometimes he really needs to rely on other people. In this story, the parents are actually the best support he could have.

And none of the female characters appear for no reason. Each of them will have her own main storyline later on.

Meeting the right person at the right time.

Everyone grows up. They’ll all make mistakes. Nothing in this world goes perfectly smoothly.

This is their love story, and it’s also their youth story.

Finally, thank you to everyone who’s read this far.

The book goes on sale tomorrow. It’s my first time, so while I’m excited, I’m mostly just panicking.

After all this time, I still wake up every day and check if anyone left a comment. If there is, it genuinely makes me happy—because it means someone out there really is reading this book.

So I really, really hope some of you will subscribe. And if you happen to have those monthly tickets that expire if you don’t use them, that’d be even better.

(v^_^)v

Honestly, what I want most is still a cute big-sis type to kiss me, hug me, and lift me up high...

“Ye Xi, look! That guy’s talking to himself. He’s just as dumb as you...”

“Don’t talk nonsense. Am I really that much of an airhead?”
