"Thud!"
Coco was flicked on the forehead by Feng Ye again. She clutched her head, teary-eyed, and sat back down.
"Of course I’d never do something like that," Feng Ye said irritably, glaring at his sister. As if remembering something, he added sternly, "Even when you have a boyfriend someday, you’re not allowed to do that either."
"Why?" Coco demanded, both hurt and angry. "If others can do it, why can’t I? And Servant, why did you hit me again? Did I say something wrong?"
Seizing the moment as she leaned in, Feng Ye quickly wiped the ice cream from the corner of her mouth with a tissue.
Coco glared back, even more upset.
Seeing the awkward sibling moment had passed, Feng Ye finally sat down slowly. "You’ll understand when you’re older. For now, just trust me."
"Hmph! A mere Servant dares to order his master?" Coco shot him a resentful look. Realizing Feng Ye wouldn’t mimic the couple nearby, she grabbed her spoon and stabbed furiously at her ice cream.
"Pop! Pop! Pop!"
Holes dotted the parfait instantly. Feng Ye sighed inwardly—well, at least she wasn’t stabbing herself. He let her be.
"Stupid Servant. Idiot Servant," Coco muttered under her breath. "You forbid me? I’ll do it anyway. When I get a boyfriend, I’ll lick ice cream off his face right in front of you. That’ll make you mad. Hmph!"
Though quiet, Feng Ye heard every word. Dark lines filled his mind. *If that day comes, brother will break all three of his legs first.*
His sister was precious—untouchable. But her hypothetical boyfriend? Feng Ye felt zero guilt about crushing him. Secretly, he already saw that nameless extra as a sworn enemy.
If the "Pearl Monk," ranked top thirty in the Divine Realm and who’d unilaterally declared Feng Ye his rival after hundreds of fights, knew this, he’d be furious. He’d never earned Feng Ye’s enmity, yet some nobody stole it. Jealousy would consume him.
The Pearl Monk would hunt the guy down and pummel him senseless. In his eyes, anyone weaker than him didn’t deserve to face Night Maple.
Tragically, Coco’s potential boyfriend didn’t know—and might not even exist. Though unborn, two Divine Realm powerhouses already saw him as a major threat. If he knew dating Coco meant instant death, he’d flee in sheer terror and dump her immediately.
The siblings took over half an hour to finish the giant parfait. Though Coco ordered it, most ended up in Feng Ye’s stomach. After the forehead flick, she’d been sulking, her little mouth puckered like it could hang a bottle.
As Feng Ye dragged his noisy sister toward the exit, they passed a round table. Stacked high were several empty giant cups.
Seated there was a girl about Coco’s age. A pointed wizard hat with a wide brim sat beside her, revealing beautiful silver hair. Her delicate face and porcelain skin made her look like a life-sized doll.
She nibbled the parfait slowly, one small spoonful at a time, yet ate surprisingly fast. A faint smile played on her lips, as if marveling at the blissful sweetness. Her pale legs swung gently under her dress—clearly delighted.
Feng Ye stared, stunned, as she devoured half the parfait… momentarily forgetting to move.
Even more eye-catching was a frog frozen in an ice block on the table. Its bulging black eyes seemed to twitch, tongue lolling sideways—exactly like Rollroll’s silly death act.
"Servant, you’re totally a lolicon!"
Coco scowled, watching her brother fixate on the doll-like silver-haired girl.
*Disgusting Servant! His eyes are glued to her! Don’t I look just as cute?!*
Her anger flared.
At Coco’s shout, many eyes turned to Feng Ye. Even the silver-haired girl paused eating, her ice-blue eyes curiously studying him with a hint of confusion—wondering what "lolicon" meant.
"Uh…"
Feng Ye felt like crying. He’d only been curious! He yanked the fuming Coco away. She struggled: "Let go, Servant! I won’t leave! You perverted lolicon! If you don’t explain why you stared at her, I’ll—mmph!"
He cut her off, hoisting her up and muffling her mouth as he carried her out. The scene looked exactly like a little girl being kidnapped… Outrage swept the shop. Someone even dialed the police.
Luckily, a staff member who’d served them earlier confirmed they were siblings, calming the situation. Otherwise, Feng Ye might’ve been sipping tea at the police station.
…
Back home, Feng Ye received an assessment notification from the Association. After two joint hunts against hybrid Beasts, his team earned hundreds of merits. Lin Tang used them to upgrade their rank to C-class.
Feng Ye’s personal ranking rose to C-class 1124th after killing a Beast. This felt low for his feat, but his record had only one standout achievement. Plus, the hunt involved multiple Awakened teams. Even as the Beast’s killer, the Association couldn’t rank him too high overnight.
Feng Ye didn’t mind, but Lin Tang complained in their group chat, insisting he deserved A-class. He ended up comforting her instead.
Coco scrambled onto the sofa barefoot, juice bottle in hand. She glanced at her brother, absorbed in his phone. "Servant, who are you chatting with behind my back?"
"You couldn’t finish dinner. Why drink juice now?" Feng Ye dodged her question, scolding first.
"I asked first!" Coco retorted, taking a defiant sip.
"Eating all that ice cream and juice? Your stomach will ache," Feng Ye sighed. Seeing her dismissive look, he relented. "My teammates."
"Teammates?" Coco’s eyes widened. "Like in a game?"
"Of course not," Feng Ye rolled his eyes. "Awakened teammates."
"Why didn’t you tell me before?" Coco pouted, looking betrayed.
"We just formed days ago," Feng Ye explained.
"Oh?" Coco’s lips tightened. "How many teammates?"
"Two. A brother and sister. The girl’s about your age."
"What?!" Coco’s eyes narrowed like a territorial kitten, wary. "My age? Is she an Awakened too?"
"Yeah. Her talent’s impressive—already C-class at such a young age." Feng Ye’s voice grew thoughtful. He looked at his sister, conflicted. *If not for that incident years ago, Coco would’ve awakened her War Spirit too.*
If he hadn’t used a god-tier treasure from another world to save her after her War Spirit was stripped, he might have lost her already.
"Hmph! If my War Spirit wasn’t still sleeping, I’d be an Awakened by now!" Coco snapped.
After her War Spirit was stripped and Feng Ye saved her, a seed had lingered inside her, pulsing with Spirit Energy before falling dormant.
Her awakening was unnaturally early—forced by their mother at age nine. This anomaly, plus Feng Ye’s interventions, kept her off the Overdeity’s mission roster.
After grumbling awhile, Coco looked up. "Servant, I’m joining your team too."
"Huh? You? No. You have no power—it’s too dangerous." Feng Ye refused.
"I don’t care! Why can’t I join? I have a War Spirit!"
"It’s asleep," Feng Ye ruffled her hair, trying to calm her.
"Rollroll."
Coco called.
"Whoosh!" The husky shot out from under the sofa, tail wagging eagerly.
"Bring me my War Spirit," Coco commanded, arms crossed smugly.
Rollroll hurriedly spat out the Black Cauldron and presented it to her.
Feng Ye, "…"
