23 Old Wang Next Door

As Feng Ye left the farm, in another world, Rollroll—Coco’s top enforcer—was tackling the final stage of his Overdeity mission.

That hyper-modern city belonged to the Superhero World. Towering skyscrapers dominated its center. On a major thoroughfare, hover cars raced in a high-speed chase. The lead vehicle darted through traffic like a fish in water, effortless and fluid. The pursuer lagged behind, clumsy and erratic. It nearly caused rear-end collisions multiple times. Their dash paralyzed the streets instantly. Car horns blared nonstop. Curses filled the air.

Finally escaping the traffic jam, the pursuers sped onto a bridge. The two men inside sighed in relief. But the passenger seat man glared at the driver, scowling. "You useless piece of crap!" he yelled. "Your driving can’t even match a dog’s! Did you waste those redeemable points on advanced skills just to feed them to pigs?"

The driver’s face flushed red and pale under the insults. He didn’t dare retort.

Because, as the man said… his skills were truly outclassed by a dog’s.

Ahead, in the lead hover car, a husky stood at the wheel. One leg pressed the accelerator. Two paws gripped the steering wheel. With uncanny agility, it executed drifts even pro racers would envy.

After sharp turns, it left the pursuers far behind. Glancing in the rearview mirror, the husky flashed a human-like sneer.

"Woof!"

Just as it nearly shook off pursuit, the husky sensed trouble. From the rear car, a War Spirit throwing knife shot out. Under the man’s control, it multiplied into hundreds—then thousands. Blades rained down like a metal storm, targeting the husky’s car.

If hit, the hover car would be shredded instantly. But at that critical moment, the husky spat out a Black Cauldron disdainfully.

The cauldron flew out the window. It swelled rapidly, shielding the car like a giant turtle shell. Knives hammered its surface. Sparks flew wildly. "Clang! Clang!" echoed endlessly. The cauldron vibrated but held firm. The knife storm couldn’t breach it. Watching this, the passenger man nearly spat blood in rage.

Damn it! What divine beast is this dog?! How did it block that?!

His mind shattered. He’d been hunted by heroes for the Overdeity mission item. After costly escapes, he’d waited only for the timer to end. But a husky intercepted him halfway!

Earlier, he and his partner had clutched the briefcase tightly. They’d scanned for heroes, ignoring the cheeky husky approaching. The moment they bumped into it, their nightmare began.

The husky—unnoticed until then—pulled a Black Cauldron from nowhere. It whacked both their heads. The man’s nose nearly broke. He crouched, clutching it in pain, recovering slowly. Then he saw fury-inducing sight: the husky dashed off, the mission item clamped in its jaws.

As it ran, it twisted its head, sneering back. Unbearable!

Furious, they chased it. But the husky hijacked a hover car and sped away. Seeing a dog drive shattered their worldview. They felt their lives wasted. Only later did they remember the stolen item. They hijacked another car, giving chase. That led to now…

Moments ago, the man had unleashed his signature War Spirit move. He’d aimed to blow up the lead car. But the husky’s Black Cauldron was also a War Spirit item. It grew and blocked everything!! He stood dumbfounded.

Is this really a dog?! How can it pull off such tricks?!

He was on the verge of tears.

Next second, shock deepened. After blocking the knives, the giant cauldron shrank and vanished. A greenish light flew toward them. Before the man recognized it as a lid, it smashed through the window. It slammed onto his head.

"What the hell!"

Startled, he grabbed the green lid. He strained to remove it. He even used Spirit Energy. Nothing worked.

In the rearview mirror, he saw his ridiculous reflection—lid perched like a green hat. He fumed. "Chase it!! Catch up! If I don’t chop this dog for hot pot today, I, Lü, will write my surname backwards!!" he roared. He’d abandon the mission to kill that dog.

The driver bit back a comment—writing "Lü" backwards was still "Lü." He floored the accelerator. He didn’t dare provoke the man now.

Meanwhile, in the real world…

Inside a luxury apartment, a beautiful woman in pajamas lounged on the sofa. She watched TV lazily.

Suddenly, a knock sounded at the door.

"Who is it?" she asked.

"It’s me—Old Wang from next door. Borrowing soy sauce." A voice came from outside. "Is Mrs. Lü available now?"
