In 2168, the Third World War erupted. It raged for fifty years. Eventually, the concept of "nations" vanished from history. Only the "World Government" remained, formed by representatives from global regions. Humanity entered a new era of peace.
By 2268, peace had propelled human technology to incredible heights. They used it to restore Earth's collapsing environment, reviving the planet and solving the ecological crisis.
Humanity had finally reached the true sci-fi age imagined centuries earlier. High-tech products were no longer flashy, magical gadgets. They were practical, seamlessly enhancing daily life.
However, the World Research Institute—directly under the World Government—had long begun researching the "space-time device" on official orders.
In 2269, this research neared completion. Scientists moved to the final phase: testing prototypes.
They chose sparsely populated Central Asia for experiments. (By then, parts of Central Asia had climates unfit for human life. Those seeking better conditions had already left. Only a few natives remained.) But as it was a prototype and their first real attempt, the experiment failed predictably. The device exploded instantly. No researchers survived. The entire Central Asian region was devastated. The blast energy created a massive Wormhole sixty kilometers wide, hovering ten thousand meters above ground. Nothing could approach it. Even the World Government had to shelve plans to close it.
Late 2269, the Wormhole mutated. Strange bioelectric waves suddenly burst from within, blanketing the globe. Oddly, most people showed no reaction. But a tiny minority did. Their bodies convulsed violently, exhibiting bizarre phenomena. As if in compensation, their genes transformed in diverse ways. One thing was common: they gained various "superpowers."
In 2270, the sixty-kilometer-wide Wormhole—humanity's creation—finally shifted. Creatures hidden inside bared their fangs and claws to the outside world. They hailed from "the other side." With colossal warships, ultra-advanced technology, and hulking, powerful bodies, they invaded from Central Asia. Eventually, the government rallied an army centered on the world's Ability Users to resist the otherworldly invaders, "Preyas." The true world war began.
The conflict escalated until the rise of the legendary strongest Ability User.
Seven years post-war, the "Ability Combat Academy"—where academic life had stabilized after the battle—welcomed a new semester. And that's where our story begins...
