"Alright, enough chit-chat! Let’s get started!" Ye Chen said with a smile. Then he conjured a large bag from his hand.
"What’s this?" I asked curiously.
"Inside are some training tools and Heaven Spirit Stones!" Ye Chen replied.
"What!? Heaven Spirit Stones!" I exclaimed. There were four magic-boosting gems: Human Spirit Stones, Earth Spirit Stones, Heaven Spirit Stones, and Sacred Spirit Stones. In our F Class, at most one student got a Human Spirit Stone per month. Only elite classes like A Class or S Class had Heaven Spirit Stones!
"Your new teacher’s really generous! Even in ancient times, these weren’t common!" the faint Sacred Eye muttered in my head.
"This is too precious, Master!" I said.
"Heh heh! Since you’re my disciple, Ye Chen, these stones mean nothing! Back then, I could even snag Sacred Spirit Stones for you!" Ye Chen laughed.
"Thank you, Master!" I replied.
"Check the rest," Ye Chen added.
"Magic... orb..." I stammered, opening the bundle to reveal a huge magic orb.
"I recall only seven magic orbs exist in the academy! Master, did you—" I gasped again.
"Yep! Stole it!" Ye Chen said, picking his nose with a ridiculous grin.
"But... you’ll get caught—" I said, speechless.
"No worries! The Headmaster’s away. No one can spot me!" Ye Chen insisted, still digging his nose.
"This orb tracks your training progress. Crucial stuff!" he continued.
"Oh! Got it!" I answered, feeling a trace of warmth inside.
"Next up: just the Encyclopedia of Magic!" If I’d been shocked before, now I was over the moon.
The Encyclopedia recorded every spell imaginable! It wasn’t merely a book—a spirit inside would personally guide you with highly effective methods. Such tomes were an academy’s foundation!
"Useless! If you want to learn, I’ll teach you! I master even ancient magic," the Sacred Eye’s voice echoed in my mind.
"Really?" I thought inwardly, then told Ye Chen, "Master! Skip the book—the Sacred Eye will train me!"
"Oh? So it has that function too! No wonder it’s the greatest ancient eye!" Ye Chen chuckled.
"But, disciple, why wear such revealing clothes? It’s making me... uncomfortable," Ye Chen muttered, glancing away with a slight blush.
Lin Ye was dangerously alluring now—devastating to men! Only Ye Chen’s iron will prevented trouble.
"I... I know! I’ll change immediately!" Seeing his shyness, I found it odd. The master had a bashful side? How rare!
I dashed back, swapped into casual wear, and rushed return.
"Come! Last item!" Ye Chen grinned.
"A handgun!" I cried. In a world with Anti-Magic Cards, low and Intermediate Magicians were weakened. Magic weapons like this became vital!
"Thank you, Master Ye!" I said gratefully. I felt his genuine care—he was truly worthy of respect.
"Haha! You’re my disciple! Doing this is only right!" Ye Chen laughed.
"However—" his tone turned sharp.
"Run ten extra laps daily! Cast those spells a hundred more times! Fail, and I’m no longer your master. Need leave? Ask me first—I decide if it’s valid. Understood?"
"Yes!" I agreed.
"Also, reach Intermediate Magician in one month—that’s your minimum. And never share these stones! Other Heaven Spirit Stones are fine, but these? Absolutely not!"
"Why?" I questioned.
"Academy stones have impurities—they harm your magic sea. Mine were purified by my Rainbow Body’s power. Zero impurities. Yours alone. Clear?" Ye Chen commanded.
"Clear! But doesn’t the Rainbow Body only work on conscious beings?" I nodded, doubtful.
"I freely analyze lifeless things! That zombie last time? Only ‘eat’ in its mind—unanalyzable. My Rainbow Body failed!" Ye Chen explained.
"Got it!" I said. I’m locking onto this cheat-like master for life! I thought.
"Less talk! Start now! I’m a devil coach—speak up if you crack!" Ye Chen barked sternly.
"Yes!" I replied. Having a master who truly cares for his disciple is wonderful, I mused inwardly.
