When I opened my eyes again, I saw the familiar ceiling. I sat up and spotted my sister sleeping beside me, her face haggard with exhaustion.

I gently stroked her head and stretched.

"My Lord! You're awake!" The familiar voice of the Sacred Eye sounded in my ear.

"How long was I asleep? But Sacred Eye, why have you dimmed?" I asked doubtfully.

"About five days! Your sister never left your side! Also, I sense many powerful beings in this world. Compared to them, Master, you're still too weak. So I activated stealth mode—don't use me unless absolutely necessary!" the Sacred Eye replied.

So that's it. Ye Chen sensed the Sacred Eye within me back then, meaning strong enough people can detect my presence. The power I draw from it would tempt ill-intentioned ones greatly.

In other words, I can't use this eye until I'm stronger. Otherwise, I might be targeted and end up with my eyes gouged out.

This cheat item is just for show now—usable only in true emergencies.

"You're awake, Lin Ye!" A man with a terrifyingly scarred face approached.

"Thank you, Vice Dean Ye!" I said gratefully. Without him, Ling Ling and I would've died. But I still had to ask: "Vice Dean Ye... about the Sacred Eye?"

"Don't worry! You saved my life after all. Also, would you like to become my disciple?" Ye Chen smiled.

"Huh! Thank you! But I'm just a useless F Class student!" I replied, surprised.

"I value your willpower, not your talent!" Ye Chen said. And you remind me of my younger self, he thought.

"Willpower?" I questioned.

"Your talent is low, yet you face hardships head-on—your exam scores prove it! You didn't abandon me either. That shows you cherish comrades, not cold-blooded at all! I, Ye Chen, want a disciple like you!"

"Okay! I'll be your disciple!" I agreed. He saved my life, and who wouldn't want a powerful master to rely on?

"Good! My good disciple! Come outside with me!" Ye Chen laughed heartily.

I obediently followed him out. Many F Class students gathered outside, overjoyed to see me.

"Lin Ye, you're alive! I thought you died!"

"You lived! Huh! Saved me spirit money—so happy!"

"Sigh! Lost the bet! So sad!"

I facepalmed, then looked up. I was shocked: their warm smiles hid haggard faces, dark circles, and weight loss.

Seeing this, my nose stung. Is this what comrades are?

A soft figure hugged me tightly. Sobbing came from behind: "Waaah~~~ Little Ye Ye! I thought you..."

Watching Nan Ling, choked with emotion, my heart warmed. I hugged her back. "I'm sorry. I won't make you worry again! Never!"

Ye Chen coughed lightly. "Save the reunion. Lin Ye, perform the disciple ceremony first—I won't take long."

"Ye Ye! You'll be Vice Dean Ye's disciple?" Nan Ling asked doubtfully.

I nodded. Ye Chen flew us to the back mountain. We walked beside a river.

"Do you know the Ye family's Chaos Magic story?" Ye Chen asked.

"I heard it's powerful magic that vanished a thousand years ago!"

"Hmm! Correct! I might be the world's only Chaos Magic user. Counting from the first patriarch, I'm the fifty-first," Ye Chen sighed.

"You're the fifty-first patriarch! How are you alive? What happened a thousand years ago?" I gasped.

"When I became patriarch, my brother Ye Xing conspired with outsiders to attack our Chaos Ye Clan—he wanted the throne! We were driven back endlessly. Seeing no hope, my wife... for me... knocked me out. She sealed me in millennium ice and threw me into a river. As I faded, I heard a sorrowful voice: 'Please... make Chaos Magic stand tall on the continent again!' The Academy Head later rescued me from the Arctic Ocean." His face held endless sorrow.

Hearing this, I was deeply moved. The thought of reviving Chaos Magic sparked in my heart.

"My disciple! Will you vow to make Chaos Magic flourish?" Ye Chen asked.

"Yes!"

"My disciple, promise not to use Chaos Magic unless absolutely necessary?"

"What if it's unbearable?"

Ye Chen looked at me. "If it truly comes to that, go wild—I'll clean up the mess."

"Yes!" I said excitedly.

"Skip the tedious rituals! Just kowtow three times!"

"Yes!" I replied respectfully. He deserved it—even with that terrifying face.

I devoutly kowtowed to my master three times.
