"Pain!! Pain." I convulsed on the ground. Falling from such a height, I'd used a wind magic spell—[Little Wind Ball]—to barely survive the impact with its recoil. But the agony was excruciating. Then, a woman's voice called out.
"Yeer? Are you there? Big sister is coming to find you! Don't be afraid!"
Big sister. But I couldn't make a sound; my voice was locked away, trapped inside. Suddenly, a bright light flashed, illuminating the entire cave. It was Boss Yue using a light-based skill.
Ling Ling and I were terrified—we couldn't beat him! Boss Yue just looked at us, especially Ling Ling, scanning her from head to toe. Goosebumps covered her entire body. Boss Yue laughed. "Relax! I won't harm you here. Your leader also fell down, so I'll use you as hostages! Kill him!"
"How about becoming my woman, beauty? I promise you can do whatever you want!" Boss Yue leered at Ling Ling.
"Get lost! If you dare touch me, I'll self-destruct right in front of you!" Ling Ling threatened.
"Then do you believe that if your explosion doesn't kill me, I'll kill him?" Boss Yue countered.
"Hmph! Go ahead and try!" Ling Ling said, her eyes turning blue. She was bluffing, betting Boss Yue wouldn't dare act because of Ye Chen.
"Hahaha! Clever little girl! Fine! Since you know, but if you don't cooperate as my hostages, I won't hesitate to kill you now!" Boss Yue sneered.
"Fine! Alright!" Ling Ling conceded reluctantly.
"Move! You carry him! If you dare make any moves, I won't hesitate to kill you." Boss Yue threatened.
Ling Ling hoisted Lin Ye onto her back, shot Boss Yue a cold glare, and silently followed him.
After walking for a long time, countless bats suddenly swarmed toward us. Boss Yue cast [Thunder Rain], striking them down instantly.
"Bats here? Impossible! Unless this is a hidden passage. There must be something secret about Lin Feng Academy!" Boss Yue analyzed.
Is this guy dual-wielding lightning and light magic? Just like me! But this place seemed like a tomb—a burial site for generations of Lin Feng Academy's leaders. Only the current dean had the right to enter. Ling Ling thought this silently.
Ancient murals covered the walls, inscribed with unreadable ancient demon script. I opened my eyes wide, shocked to find I could understand the words. The gist was this:
Lin Feng, founder of Lin Feng Academy, was the younger brother of Demon Sovereign Lin Tian. The Demon Sovereign led the demon race at its peak, when demons ruled the world. But Lin Feng couldn't stand his brother's shameless rule. He traveled far to China, establishing a new academy to help weak humans.
Lin Tian saw Lin Feng as a traitor and moved to eliminate him. Facing tens of thousands of demon troops, Lin Feng transformed himself into an immortal zombie, blocking and repelling the army. Yet he couldn't control his bloodthirsty urges. He kowtowed toward the distant, watching Demon Sovereign. "Brother! Please spare my academy!"
From afar came the Demon Sovereign's icy voice. "Since you love humans so much? Fine, I'll take your demon core. In return, demons won't attack this territory."
"Alright! Thank you, brother! Here!" Lin Feng offered his purple demon core.
Lin Tian took it and vanished.
"Hurry! Seal me away! My consciousness is fading!" Lin Feng said, covering his mouth.
"But... teacher? You'll—!" a student beside him stammered.
"Hurry! I've never begged before! Please make this academy shine brightly!" Lin Feng shed hot tears.
"Yes!" the student replied, tears streaming.
Thus, Lin Feng was sealed in the tomb by his disciples. Only high-ranking leaders could know of this or enter; all others were forbidden.
What a touching story—but it had nothing to do with me! Wait! Lin Feng was sealed here! Damn! Isn't this exactly where we are? After a thousand years sealed, how starved must he be now! Cold sweat dripped down my back. "We must be careful! Don't touch anything randomly!" I warned.
"Why should we listen? There must be academy treasure here! Don't fool me!" Boss Yue snapped.
I stared at Boss Yue, speechless. I could only pray we wouldn't encounter zombie Lin Feng. Maybe I was jinxing myself.
