Chapter 24: The Misfit Class's Triumphan
update icon Updated at 2025/12/24 5:30:02

Li Tianming watched the gate guards from afar and turned to his troops behind him. "Two sound-element mages and one wind-element mage."

"What are we waiting for? Charge! We outnumber them!" Ouyang Chen rolled up his sleeves, ready to sprint.

"Are you an idiot? It’s clearly a combo: sound mages on alert, wind mage relaying intel." Li Tianming pushed up his glasses, speaking scornfully to Ouyang Chen.

"Then what?" Ouyang Chen asked doubtfully. Sound-element mages had razor-sharp hearing; wind-element mages offered flight and speed—the ultimate guard pair. Light-element mages, the fastest, were rare across mainland China.

"Who mimics animal sounds well?" Li Tianming addressed the F Class troops.

"Me! Back in my village, I raised small animals and learned their calls." An F Class student replied eagerly.

"Imitate any tiny insect. Make it loud!" Li Tianming said firmly to him. Then to the rest: "Sound-element students hear keenly, but loud noises drown out quiet ones. Keep our movement quieter than the insect calls."

"Yes!" the F Class students chorused.

"Alright, use your stealth training now!" Li Tianming ordered.

"An Lu! You come with us to the rock thirty meters ahead. Start mimicking." Li Tianming told An Lu.

"To be safe, we’ll move in groups of five, alternating." Li Tianming instructed F Class.

"Yes!" both groups shouted.

When Li Tianming’s group reached the rock, An Lu let out a sound that drove F Class wild: "Croak, croak, croak!"

Li Tianming broke into a cold sweat. Frogs this season? But he stayed silent—they were inside the enemy sound mages’ alert zone.

-----The guards were speechless. "Hear that? Frog croaks!" a D Class student said to a sound mage.

"Yeah! I heard it too!" the D Class sound mage replied.

"Are you nuts? Frogs now?" the wind mage muttered dumbly.

"Who knows? It’s a training ground. Maybe teachers added them for fun," another D Class student said.

"Oh! Possible!" the wind mage agreed blankly.

Seeing the D Class students ignore it, Li Tianming thought, "Three idiots." He signaled F Class, and they began sneaking forward.

After ten minutes, all F Class students hid in bushes near the D Class base. Li Tianming checked the distance—close enough. "Wipe them out!" he yelled.

After Li Tianming’s barrage, the guard post lay in rubble. The three low-IQ D Class students were knocked out.

Stripping their badges, Li Tianming said, "Quick! Before they notice inside—surprise attack!"

Li Tianming’s group charged in, capturing three people. One wore a boss costume.

"Aren’t you Li Ritian? So you’re the clown decoy! Let me beat you!" Ouyang Chen grinned wickedly.

"Touch me, and I’ll make you pay with your lives!" Li Ritian boasted.

"Hit him! Lightning strike!" shouted Li Tianming—the quietest one. He’d had enough of this show-off.

"Wait! Cousin, talk it out. We’re family!" Li Ritian pleaded hastily.

"Get lost! Family? Forgot how you beat me half to death as kids?" Li Tianming kicked him angrily. He felt only hatred for this childhood bully.

Seeing Li Tianming’s fury, F Class students joined in for justice. Ten minutes later, Li Ritian lay on the ground—a pixelated spherical blur.

"Good! Flank attack!" Li Tianming said cheerfully after stripping Li Ritian and three D Class students of their badges.

(Lin Ye’s POV)

Watching another D Class wave advance slowly, I wondered how to wipe them all out.

"Boss! Nan Ling’s group is joining us!" Xiao Ze ran over, panicked.

"Good! Tell them to flank attack—pincer move!" I said happily.

"Yes!" Xiao Ze dashed off.

Five minutes later, our pincer move caught D Class off guard. They suffered heavy losses—but two more D Class groups surrounded us.

Since I looked like Li Tianming, they ignored me, focusing on grunts. F Class losses mounted. Then—

"Haha! Tremble, earthlings! We’re back!" Ouyang Chen roared.

Spotting "me" (Li Tianming in disguise), all D Class students charged him. Li Tianming dodged expertly. Seizing the chance, I and F Class attacked fiercely.

D Class’s Yang Honggang finally snapped. He rushed out, shouting, "Ride the Wind!"

Yang Honggang flew toward me. I tightly grabbed him as he charged past for a fire punch. "Don’t worry about me! Hurry—"

Before Li Tianming finished, electric arcs from F Class struck them. Li Tianming thought: "So decisive? Give me a second to hesitate!"

Seeing them fall, F Class students ignored D Class attacks, rushing to strip Yang Honggang’s badge. D Class seized the moment to strip my badge first, smugly awaiting results.

A white-robed referee stepped out. "I declare! F Class wins!"

"Why?" D Class students protested.

Then "Li Tianming" stepped out—his face shifted to Lin Ye. And "Lin Ye" stepped out—his face shifted to Li Tianming.

"Hahahaha! No wonder you’re my brother-in-law! Amazing!" Yang Honggang laughed happily.

"But I never cared about this match. Let’s duel here!" Yang Honggang’s tone turned sharp.

"Sure!" I replied without hesitation.

Just as we readied to duel, Boss Yue’s voice echoed from the water station far away: "All units ready! Brothers, set! One, two, three—detonate!"

Massive explosions rocked the lounge and cafeteria. Chaos erupted across the venue.
