“He Yucheng, you stop right there!”

“Hurry up! Leave the PVP tutorial video!”

The moment He Yucheng and Lengjiang ran out of the city, a whole crowd followed behind them, yelling nonstop.

“Wifey, what’s with these people? Weren’t they all screaming they were gonna chop me up yesterday? How’d they suddenly turn into crazed fans?” He Yucheng glanced back, just in time to see someone fail to hold back and throw out a triple sword‑qi slash.

That one move set off a trend. Behind him, a dense crowd started hurling skills at him all at once, like a thousand arrows darkening the skies on some ancient battlefield.

He Yucheng had zero time to gasp, “Whoa, these effects are sick, so cool…”

Yeah, right. Those skills were aimed at him. If he didn’t run faster, he’d be dead. Only an idiot would be in the mood to admire the “view” and even sigh over it.

“Wifey.” He Yucheng suddenly called out to Lengjiang, who was fleeing alongside him.

He threw everything he had into escape skills. Xiaoye had already reminded him: don’t casually pull out the costume weapon. If others saw its effects, he’d lose a trump card. And he was also worried Lengjiang wouldn’t be able to keep up.

“(◕ᴗ◕✿) Eh?” There wasn’t even a hint of tension on Lengjiang’s cute little face. On the contrary, she was actually finding this chase game pretty fun.

“o(゚Д゚)っ!”

A second later, Lengjiang felt her body float up uncontrollably—more accurately, she realized He Yucheng had scooped her up.

“Eh, eh, eh?!” His sudden move startled her. She flailed, totally at a loss for what to do.

“Silly wifey, don’t move, or if you fall you’re done for!” He Yucheng laughed. Hugging the petite Lengjiang, he took a light leap, then dodged right, slipping past a cross‑shaped sword‑qi slash.

You couldn’t use those slash‑whatever skills while holding someone in midair. That was just how the game worked.

“ᓫ(°⌑°)ǃ Uwahhh!”

He Yucheng carried Lengjiang, weaving through the rain of “arrows” filling the sky. He avoided jumping as much as he could; you couldn’t freely control your position in the air, and unless he had no choice, he wasn’t going to jump. His life wasn’t the only one on the line—he was carrying Lengjiang’s too.

As a gentleman of positioning, how could he let a graceful lady get hurt?

So after one last upward dash to avoid a streak of sword‑qi, He Yucheng let go.

Yep. He let go.

From Lengjiang’s perspective, the world was still spinning. Once her vision finally steadied, she realized she was floating again—this time in a parabolic drop. She turned her head back and saw a packed wall of projectiles flying her way…

“ᓫ(°⌑°)ǃ” Lengjiang froze. Honestly speaking, her dodging skills were nowhere near He Yucheng’s.

She looked up at him, eyes pleading. He saw the despair there and burst out laughing. He’d let go only to adjust his position and prep for the next move.

He Yucheng used a Displacement Skill to hang in the air and tweak his position, then chained Mirror Image + Charged Thrust, dove toward the ground, and grabbed Lengjiang mid‑fall, pulling her into his arms.

“>_◡<๑)۶ Mm!”

The environment really could change a person’s mood. He Yucheng had gone through all that trouble just to bring Lengjiang here to enjoy this beautiful landscape.

On a small peak amid the mountains, two pink‑and‑white figures leaned against each other, taking in nature’s scenery together.

No one knew how long they sat there, until He Yucheng finally stood up and asked with a smile, “Wifey, the day after tomorrow, wanna go fight over that boss together?”

Lengjiang stayed quiet for a moment, then nodded lightly and answered with a smile, “Mm.”

He Yucheng turned his head again, gazing at the distant view.

The game really was the safest place to be…

With that thought, Churan stared blankly at the computer screen, spacing out a little.

“(。・ω・。) Hubby? Hubby!”

“…Mm? Ah. What’s up?” Once He Yucheng finally responded, Lengjiang let out a quiet breath of relief.

“(๑╹◡╹)ノ""" Nothing, really. You suddenly stopped moving just now, so baby got a little worried.”

“Oh, that so.” He Yucheng put on a thoughtful look, unaware that Churan, in front of the monitor, was already curling her lips into a mischievous smile as she dialed Song Qian’s number.

“Hey, hey, what’s hubby thinking about now?” Lengjiang tiptoed closer, big bright eyes blinking up at him.

Whoa. Too close. This girl’s cuteness should be illegal.

“I was thinking… shh. Don’t move.” He Yucheng suddenly spoke in a serious tone.

“!!!∑(゚Д゚ノ)ノ?! Eh? O‑okay…” His reaction startled her, and in the next second she saw him pull out his exclusive weapon, Stellar Guardian—that weird giant pair of scissors.

Hubby’s not gonna go solo me, right? The thought popped into Lengjiang’s head out of nowhere. Baby’s a full healer, you know!

Lost in her wild imagination, she completely missed what He Yucheng was actually doing.

“It should be about time.”

He walked around behind her. Lengjiang was still spiraling in her thoughts, her flustered expression ridiculously adorable.

Silly girl…

“Wifey! Look up!”

“ヾ(◍°∇°◍)ノ゙ Eh? Yes, sir!” Lengjiang practically went full Aqua mode.

For whom is that distant sky? I, with no answer, still ask.

The long night is damp with dew, and stars fall across the sandy plain.

(Developer override in effect—time of day switched.)

“It’s a shooting star!”

Lengjiang’s eyes went wide. She pointed up at the sky, practically vibrating with excitement. (Her family’s probably running full-screen ultra effects at home.)

“Hubby, look! It’s a shooting star!” Lengjiang turned back and grabbed He Yucheng’s left arm, pressing close against him. One hand kept waving and pointing at the sky. She didn’t notice his weapon was gone.

“Yeah, I see it…” He Yucheng answered her, looking up as well. His right hand moved quickly behind his back, fingers flicking through one gesture after another.

In front of the PC, Churan’s fingers flew over the keys. He had to chain a bunch of different commands at high speed to create this little meteor shower. He Yucheng’s weapon was what was flying up there.

What’s taking Song Qian so long? I’m about to run out of mana here!

System Message (World): Player “I’ll Give You One More Chance To Rephrase That” has selected the paid track “Doushite” (Maiden’s Capriccio) for players “He Yucheng” and “Coldshoulder.”

Not bad, Song Qian. Nice song choice.

Churan performed the final input. His mana bar hit zero right on cue, and he made He Yucheng recall his weapon.

“(*/ω\*) Ah… ahhh…” Completely oblivious, Lengjiang let out a few meaningless sounds. She was utterly lost in the sea of flowers, the falling stars, and the BGM.

“Wifey… hey, wifey?” He Yucheng tried to snap her out of it. He had no idea Xin Qian, sitting in front of her screen, already had tears welling up in her eyes.

“Hey! Wifey-chan~ can you hear me, wifey~?”

“╥﹏╥ Y-yeah! I can hear you, hubby!” Lengjiang answered his call, her voice thick with tears.

“Huh… wifey, are you… crying?” Noticing something was off, He Yucheng started to panic. Did he just make a girl cry?!

Lengjiang didn’t reply. She just hugged He Yucheng tighter.

Under the starry sky, spring set everything in motion. That morning, we stepped onto a journey full of expectations. Summer brings back the memory of that night view we once shared. Autumn’s quiet darkness holds a deeper sorrow than any sunset. Winter calls us awake.

Another cycle of four seasons turns. Cherry blossoms whirl and scatter, decorating the very end of a grand feast. Starlight falls, tracing out a graceful silhouette. Moonlight spills down, dragging out two long, overlapping shadows…

Behind a door, Shallow Peace leaned quietly against it, eyes closed. After a small, satisfied nod, she stepped onto the escalator and headed downstairs, completely at ease.

“Miss Shallow Peace?” As she reached the lower floor, the old butler came toward her. His expression, however, was far from pleasant.

“What is it?” Catching that look on his face, Shallow Peace asked calmly. There was a faint but unmistakable authority in her tone.

“The master and madam said… they’re coming back next month,” the old butler leaned in and murmured.

“Tsk.” A more complicated look flickered through Shallow Peace’s eyes.
