Hero Academy
Hero Academy brimmed with thriving energy. Anyone here couldn't help but feel hopeful about the future. It seemed to gather all potential for goodness. Dark emotions rarely took root here.
This was likely a Superhero’s power blessing. That force subtly shaped hearts over time. Yet any decent hero could resist its pull. Probably a rising star. In Mirror October’s era, no famous Superhero had such emotion-influencing power… except one criminal. That unlucky guy was cleanly taken out by Mirror October.
Mirror October tilted his head slightly. He lazily narrowed his ruby-like eyes. His ascetic youth exuded silent allure. Boys and girls seeing his face felt a subtle admiration.
His aura let him blend naturally into the scene. It felt like he belonged at Hero Academy.
Reserved and unassuming, his striking looks distracted many girls. They kept stealing glances at his delicate features. New student? Guest lecturer? Transfer hero trainee? Speculations flew wildly. No one guessed he was from Butler Academy, just auditing classes.
Soon, a bold girl approached.
"Big brother… um, is this seat taken?" Her unspoken plea hung clear: if free, could she sit?
Mirror October shifted his gaze. His wine-red eyes held a faint smile as he sized her up. She pretended calm but fidgeted with her clothes, betraying nerves. Pretty, with freckles and modest clothes. An average figure.
He glanced at her friends watching intently behind her. Easy to read. An unimportant girl sent to test the waters. If refused…
Mirror October didn’t answer right away. He slowly examined her with sharp, narrow eyes. Like a hunter analyzing prey, his gaze carried cruel undertones. The freckled girl shivered and snapped upright.
This inhumanly handsome youth! He radiated crushing pressure!
Like standing before a formal hero. She felt inexplicably guilty. Mirror October’s silent scrutiny amplified it. She grew too nervous to speak, eyes darting away.
Time crawled. The freckled girl nearly cried.
The pressure was immense!
The whole class seemed to stare. Already insecure, she wished to bury her head and vanish. Mirror October’s crimson eyes flickered. Such a simple-hearted girl. Too rude to push further.
"Do you want to sit?" His drawn-out tone sent tingles through her. She almost gasped.
So charismatic!
"N-no, not me… I mean, yes! Can I?" Her face flushed like a ripe apple. Flustered, she almost spilled her bet with friends. Head down, she fidgeted again. A hero trainee, yet surprisingly insecure.
Mirror October’s androgynous beauty didn’t help.
Insecurity could twist into ugly things.
"Look up."
"Huh…?!"
"Do I scare you that much? Relax. Sit. I won’t eat you." Mirror October smiled warmly, twirling his pen. His ascetic charm peaked. Dazed, she obediently sat beside him… like a tamed fawn.
Mirror October read human nature. His body language and tone carried subtle suggestions. A master psychologist. A spider weaving invisible threads. The crime king Saw. He’d already mapped her mind.
She’d likely just activated a Superhero power by luck. Escaping a timid past. Her mindset hadn’t adjusted. Typical for freshmen. So…
"Those your friends?" He followed envious glances, smile deepening slightly.
"Hmm? No, no—they’re my roommates." She shook her head then nodded. Words and actions clashed. A classic lie. She leaned toward him but stopped, burying her head on the desk.
This scene felt like a scumbag playing with a fragile heart…
Mirror October recalled someone’s warning: don’t toy with a girl’s tender heart. It only has one. Play with her… ahem! Cough!
"I’m Mirror October. Mirror as in reflection, October as in the month. Honored to sit with you, classmate." All pressure vanished. He was a warm sunbeam in winter. Her tension melted. So endearing…
"Mumu. Three water characters for Mu. Call me Mumu, big brother!"
"Big brother…"
Mirror October savored the word, showing faint indulgence. People were all looks-obsessed. He knew his flawless beauty was lethal. With scheming, he could easily become a female hero’s butler.
"Sorry—if you hate ‘big brother,’ I’ll change…" Mumu fidgeted again. Her insecurity made this seat a challenge. Only roommates’ goading and impulse brought her here.
"No. From now on, call me big brother."
"Okay!"
With a faint smile, Mirror October couldn’t hide a trace of loneliness. Much cuter than Ruoshui. And obedient too…
