After settling Josiah’s problem, Qin Jun took Hena back to the mansion.
Hena went back to her old self. She ignored Qin Jun. There was a small difference, though. Only Hena knew what it was.
Back at the mansion, Phoenixbird asked Qin Jun nervously what had happened. Qin Jun smiled and said, “It’s nothing now.”
He flicked his hand, and Phoenixbird lost that part of its memory. No need to let it know too much. After Qin Jun cast the spell, it remembered nothing. It was a bit extreme, but he felt it was best for it.
Some things are best forgotten by some people.
Amov and the others had no idea what went on. Fulun didn’t ask at all. He stayed calm, polishing the furniture.
Qin Jun looked at all this, rubbed his head, and thought, This is getting dull. Time to leave. His grand wish in this world—to find a pretty girl and spend a lovely night together—hadn’t even begun. Staying here wasn’t a good plan.
He went back to his room, wrote a list, and handed it to Fulun. Get the supplies ready for departure. Once the packing’s done, they would head out.
Fulun followed orders. Amov and the others went to help. Qin Jun watched the three and decided not to bring them. Too many people just makes things messy. Let them stick with Fili and protect her.
Bringing Phoenixbird would be fine. It’s just a little bird. Right now, Phoenixbird had flown off again. No clue what it was up to.
As for Hena, that little girl probably wouldn’t leave with him. That’s fine. He had no designs on her anyway. Just a girl. Protecting her was a whim. When it’s time to go, he’ll ask what she wants. He’ll support her.
Then Qin Jun didn’t know what to do with himself. This otherworld is honestly kind of boring. He kept looking for fun. There’s no electronics here—no internet, no computers. So he figured out why ancient common folk loved having kids. When there’s no fun day or night, only making babies is left.
But most commoners back then couldn’t afford many children. Many died young, or were given away.
Qin Jun does like beauties, sure. But visiting prostitutes isn’t something he should do often. They don’t feel the same as proper married women. He prefers the gentle, virtuous wife type.
Like is like, but he won’t do the kind of thing that invites thunder from the heavens. How does the saying go? Laugh today after sleeping with another man’s wife or daughter, and what will you do when your own are violated tomorrow?
But for girls who don’t have someone yet, don’t blame him. If he likes one, he’ll go after her by any means.
Ah, he really hopes something more fun shows up soon. Otherwise he has no idea what to do. He can’t imagine how Amov’s trio stay home, bored, and endure it. He’ll ask when they get back. Feeling bored forever isn’t a plan.
