The necromancer nodded. "True."

Qin Jun smiled. "Let me send you on your way. I hope the ghosts of those you killed won’t haunt you after death."

Qin Jun waved at the magic circle. It began to spin. The necromancer was slowly enveloped by a dark aura. It quickly covered his entire body. Then, he was sucked into the circle. The dim magic circle glowed brightly. A strange, fleshy orb teleported out.

Qin Jun sensed it. A level 70 creature. Its favorite food was corpses. The more it ate, the stronger it became.

Qin Jun chuckled. "You really resemble that necromancer. But you’re useless to me. And so ugly. Go back to your own world."

With that, he sent it back.

The necromancer’s life had only bought this fleshy orb. And it was sent away.

Next, Qin Jun turned to the abyssal troll. It wasn’t useful. He just used it as an excuse.

The abyssal troll watched Qin Jun thinking. He thought: Is this finally my moment to meet death?

But in that instant, he was teleported to the necromancer realm. Back to his familiar surroundings.

Seeing this, he didn’t relax. He needed to warn his friends. A supreme powerhouse had appeared in the human world. They must be cautious.

After cleaning up the mess, Qin Jun returned to his mansion. Dusk was falling. No one waited for him. They’d all eaten and gone to bed early. Qin Jun spotted Fulun clearing the dishes.

Fulun saw him and smiled. "Master, you’re back."

Qin Jun nodded. "I went out to see what’s fun. Anything unusual at home?"

Fulun shook his head. "Nothing special. Just a little girl named Fili came looking for you. She said her father is back."

Qin Jun nodded. "I see. Finish up and rest. If I have time tomorrow, I’ll visit her."

Fulun smiled. "It’s fine. I need little sleep. Better to do more tasks."

Qin Jun said, "Alright."

Qin Jun went to sleep. The next morning, he saw three big men washing clothes. Amov grumbled, "That brat. If it weren’t for old man Fulun, I’d have dealt with her long ago."

Kedong glanced around warily. "Brother Amov, don’t say that. If she hears it, who knows what trouble she’ll cause."

Koxi agreed silently. He scrubbed the dirty clothes hard.

Qin Jun thought: This girl’s quite resourceful. But it’s nothing serious. As long as she doesn’t go too far, he’d turn a blind eye.

Curious about where she was, he called out to Amov. "Amov, where’s that little girl?"

Amov replied, "Reporting, Master. Probably learning cooking with old man Fulun."

Qin Jun said, "Oh, so we’re eating her cooking today?"

Amov shook his head. "I wouldn’t know, sir."

Qin Jun said, "Fine. Keep washing. Big men should learn to be thrifty. Otherwise, how can you win over beautiful women?"

He walked off laughing. After he left, Amov turned to his confused brothers. "Don’t believe Master. He just wants to laugh at us. Women like men with money and strength. We need to get stronger for true love. Beautiful women are hard to keep without them."

At breakfast, Qin Jun quickly noticed several dishes were different. He understood immediately.

Others didn’t notice. Hena had woken early to learn mansion tidying from Fulun. She wanted to feel useful, not a freeloader mocked by Qin Jun.

Not finding Fulun in the garden, she found him in the kitchen preparing breakfast. She got interested. She thought: I can do more than gardening. I can cook too. If they eat my delicious food, they won’t look down on me.

That was wishful thinking. She’d never cooked before. This first attempt looked simple but was far more complex.

She sat at the table, not eating. Waiting to see who’d try her dishes first.

Qin Jun started eating. As usual, he only touched Fulun’s dishes. He didn’t even glance at Hena’s.

Hena wasn’t worried. There were Amov and the others. But they also avoided her dishes strangely.

Finally, Hena couldn’t take it. She forgot her vow not to speak to Qin Jun. She shouted, "Why are you like this? I worked hard on these dishes. None of you will try them?"

Qin Jun smiled. "No need."

Hena fumed. "What do you mean no need? You’re just messing with me."

Amov and the others stayed silent.

Qin Jun didn’t care about her pride. "Why don’t you taste your own dishes? Did you try them after cooking? Look, this one is burnt. Can you eat it? And this one? Taste it before you talk."

Hena defiantly tasted one. She spat it out immediately. It was either too salty or too bitter.

Qin Jun took a bite of Fulun’s dish. "See? I was right."

Hena looked at Qin Jun. He was still smiling and eating. Her eyes reddened. She ran out crying.

Fulun said to Qin Jun, "Master, you were too harsh. She’s just a child."

Qin Jun shook his head. "I know what she thinks. She doesn’t want to be seen as a freeloader. Since she’s determined, give her challenges. Pressure creates motivation."

Fulun wanted to say more. But Qin Jun looked at him. He fell silent.

Qin Jun said to Amov, "Eat. What are you all thinking about?"

Amov and the others quickly started eating.

After breakfast, Qin Jun prepared to visit the city lord’s mansion again. Fili had come looking for him. He had to go. He’d promised to meet her father.

But little Fili didn’t know he’d already met her father. He’d saved his life—or rather, the gentleman had. Actually, he’d spared her father. After all, he was the Great Demon King. He chuckled.

This time, he went alone. Bringing others was useless.

The guards saw Qin Jun and smiled. "You’re here. Looking for Miss Fili? Please enter. Shall I notify her?"

Fili must have instructed them. Qin Jun shook his head. "No need. I know where Miss Fili is waiting."

The guard nodded. "Alright. Call me if you need anything."

Qin Jun nodded. "Good. Here’s a tip for good service."

He tossed a gold crystal coin. The guard wanted to refuse but saw it and just grinned.

"Thank you, sir."

Qin Jun smiled. "You earned it."

He entered the mansion. He sensed Fili’s direction. She was reading in her room. He crept up and startled her. Focused on her book, she didn’t expect it. She burst into tears immediately.

Qin Jun hated crying, especially from girls. Comforting them was troublesome.

He quickly apologized. "Sorry, Fili. Big Brother Dante was bad."

Seeing it was Qin Jun, Fili stopped crying after a while.

Sniffling, she said, "Big Brother Dante is a big bad guy."

Qin Jun smiled. "Alright, I’m bad. Do you want to hit me?"

Fili smiled. "Hmph. I’ll save it for next time."

Qin Jun said, "You can hit me anytime."

"I heard you looked for me yesterday? I was busy and not home. But I came back the next day."

Fili’s eyes lit up. "It’s fine. I looked for you because you wanted to meet my father. He returned yesterday. I wanted you to know right away."

Qin Jun said fondly, "You’re such a good sister. When I have a chance, I’ll get you something fun. Totally different from your pet."

"By the way, where’s your pet Renault?"

Fili smiled. "You mean little Nono? My father called him. He wants his help."

"Oh, yesterday Father brought back someone I don’t know. Probably that person needs help."

Qin Jun thought that made sense. The gentleman had run out of magic. He must be suffering. Recovering himself would take a day or two. Better to get help.

Qin Jun smiled. "How did your father know Renault’s true identity?"

Fili smiled. "Don’t worry, Big Brother Dante. I didn’t mention your identity. I just said you saved me, a level 20+ mage. For little Nono, I told Father right away. I said this snake insisted on signing a contract with me. It claimed its life was ending. It needed a contract to survive."

"Big Brother Dante, is this lie okay? It won’t last long anyway, right?"

Qin Jun smiled. "Fili, you’re really smart."

There was such a thing as a life contract. The servant shared the master’s lifespan. The servant died only when the master died. And this contract couldn’t be broken.

The lord of Falcon City thought the same. It made sense. But he never imagined it was a master-servant contract.

After all, this snake was a level 80+ creature. It could destroy his city effortlessly.
