"Guyen, let's fight after evening study hall—damn it!" In the hallway, a lanky boy slapped Guyen's shoulder from behind. Guyen had just turned to see his face when the curse slipped out.

Hu Junjie stared at Guyen's still-swollen handsome face, hesitating to speak. After a long pause, he blurted, "Haven't seen you all evening, and you've gained quite a bit of weight, huh?"

"Haha, where can I buy your masterpiece, Teacher Hu?" Zhang Ning hooked his arm around Hu Junjie's neck from the other side.

"Last night, I was swatting mosquitoes, and my hand slipped," Guyen said casually, raising an eyebrow.

"On-site, that mosquito's already been sent to heaven," Zhao Zhuoyang chimed in.

"Just thinking about another ninety-minute lecture gives me a headache."

"Which class are we taking this elective with again?" Guyen scratched the back of his neck. He'd slept restlessly last night and planned to catch some sleep during class.

"You're something else. Do you even know who the teacher is?" Hu Junjie said exasperatedly.

"Joven, right? I still remember."

"Well, that must have been tough for you."

"Our economics elective is always with Class One," Zhao Zhuoyang answered Guyen's question.

"Class One?" At this, Guyen's drowsiness vanished.

"Is Jiang Juan there too?"

"That sounds like a pointless question."

"Let's go, hurry up! We'll get no seats later." Guyen's fatigue disappeared instantly, a hint of excitement in his voice.

"We're just gonna sleep in the back anyway, why rush?" Zhang Ning complained, but his feet followed Guyen closely.

At Jiayuan Private High School, elective courses started in high school. Besides core subjects, math was mandatory. Students chose between physics and biology, and between chemistry and economics. Confident students could add one non-conflicting elective.

Electives were usually held in large classrooms with two international classes together, similar to university courses. Each session lasted ninety minutes—a long lecture.

When Guyen and the others entered, many front seats were taken. Guyen scanned the room and spotted Jiang Juan in a window seat in the first row.

His eyes lit up, and he strode toward the window. Behind him, Zhang Ning called, "Where are you going? Plenty of seats in the back!"

Light filtered through gaps in the floor-length curtains, falling on Jiang Juan's cool white skin. Casually, he brushed his bangs aside. His lake-blue eyes blinked lightly, stirring the hearts of nearby girls.

He sat on the inner side, the seat beside him empty. Though girls often claimed to be go-getters, calling crushes "idols" and "oppas" privately, in reality, most—except the extremely bold—maintained ladylike images from afar. They screamed silently inside and dragged best friends along to enjoy the view.

Especially since Jiang Juan was student council president. Unless supremely confident in their charm, no one expected this seemingly gentle but distant leader to break school rules.

Guyen had already spotted two girls secretly taking phone photos, but Jiang Juan didn't seem to mind. Guyen's confident stride drew attention. Setting aside minor flaws, his looks were striking—especially with his basketball and swimming hobbies, his tall, slender figure surpassing Jiang Juan's.

"Hey, Guyen, sit here!" Classmates sat together in the back. One guy waved an arm, calling to him.

"Find Zhang Ning. I'm sitting here today," Guyen called back with a wave, then strode to the empty seat beside Jiang Juan.

"President Jiang, is this seat taken?" Guyen raised one dark eyebrow, leaning slightly over. His left hand rested on the chair back, his backpack strap drooping from his right shoulder. His tone carried a hint of nonchalance.

Jiang Juan turned his gaze from the window, his cool eyes studying Guyen with amusement. His straight nose twitched slightly, a trace of a smile flickering.

"What if I say yes?" His beautiful lips parted, revealing pearly white teeth. His voice, like jade stones chiming, was heart-refreshingly clear.
