*Bang! Bang!*

*Thud! Thud!*

Man and werewolf clashed again.

Inside the cavern, the sounds of combat erupted anew. On the central platform, two figures charged and dodged, shaking the tech-modification zone until glassware crashed to the floor.

"You old hag! I knew you had tricks up your sleeve! If I weren’t S-rank now, I wouldn’t dare fight back!"

After another collision, both leaped apart. The woman facing the werewolf pulled out a crimson serum and jammed it into her neck.

"Merely quasi-S-rank? Bitch, I’ll teach you the meaning of regret!"

*ROAR!*

Crimson mist swirled around her body. An inhuman shriek tore from her throat.

Blood-red vapor thickened in the air, surging toward the werewolf.

*Sizzle!*

*Clang!*

Corrosive fog ate through her reinforced tech-whip. It shattered into pieces, melting on the floor.

"...What is this?" Liu Xiyun murmured from the sidelines, her brow furrowed in thought.

Beside her, the maid frowned. Through their psychic link, she commanded: *"Fall back."*

"Huh?" The werewolf hesitated, then obeyed, retreating to guard Liu Xiyun.

"Hah! Scared now? Too late!" The woman levitated, twisting midair. Blood streaked her face as she glared at them—

A horror straight out of a nightmare.

"Demon genes?!" Liu Xiyun’s eyes turned grave.

She remembered now.

In this martial world, beyond Huaxia’s ancient arts, supernatural powers existed.

Whether Huaxia’s martial paths or global supernatural gifts, both could evolve to a breaking point—

Transcending into divinity.

Ancient Huaxia’s immortals. Western gods. They were real.

Lost to time, only their bloodlines remained. Every cultivator chased that ultimate peak.

Bloodlines diluted through generations. Even ancestral awakenings recovered mere fragments.

But genes—

A supreme being’s genes were unique. A single seed from gods, demons, or immortals could grow within a host.

Given time, it could reach the pinnacle of its origin.

Myths held truth. Divine power was no fantasy.

No wonder even the playful maid’s smile had vanished.

"That’s the progenitor gene of Cain, the vampire forefather." A clear voice cut through the tension.

The maid’s usual airheadedness had hardened into focus.

Liu Xiyun shot her a startled look.

"You’re not dumb?"

"*You’re* dumb."

"...".

Liu Xiyun questioned her own sanity. How had she believed this pretty maid was simple?

*Of course she wasn’t.*

"Vampire progenitor?! CAIN?!" The werewolf whirled, fury igniting in his eyes.

Cain—the eternal enemy of werewolves. A blood feud.

"Stupid mutt," the maid teased behind him. "Want a taste of godhood too? ‘Dog God’ has a nice ring, don’t you think?"

He twitched. "Master, no jokes now."

"I won’t let that hag walk away. With Cain’s gene activated? I’ll fight her to the death."

"Thank you and Lord Qin for your help. Flee now. I’ll hold her off—even if I can’t win, I’ll tear chunks of flesh from that witch!"

"What did you do," Liu Xiyun asked the maid, "to earn such loyalty?"

The maid smiled faintly. "Brother Qin just asked me to deliver some secret medicine to this wolf brother."

"*Brother Qin?*" Liu Xiyun’s eyes narrowed.

"Qin Ling. You wouldn’t know him. But hey—" Her tone turned playful. "You’re gorgeous. Want me to set you up? Super handsome guy~"

"...".
