[Advanced Quest]: The Egg of the Heavenly Might Dragon

Quest Description: Travel deep into the Ancient Forest to Sevenfold Peaks, locate the last dragon egg of the Heavenly Might Dragon Clan, and hatch it. Rewards scale based on hatching time.

Zhang Luan didn’t hesitate to use the Task Completion Card the moment he saw this quest.

Joking? This quest was clearly designed to be impossible. The Heavenly Might Dragon did have one egg—someone had found it at Sevenfold Peaks in his past life—but until Zhang Luan’s rebirth, that egg showed no signs of hatching.

He didn’t believe he had any talent for hatching eggs; he wasn’t a chicken. Even if he could, he refused to wait that long. Still, this quest reminded him: an egg awaited him at Sevenfold Peaks. Even if he couldn’t hatch it, it’d make a fine collectible. Plus, the Heavenly Might Dragon Clan, a colossal force from ancient times, must have left other treasures behind—even with just one egg remaining.

But no rush. He hadn’t finished looting Acamana City yet. The deep Ancient Forest was dangerously treacherous and hard to navigate. Once players arrived, he’d let those cute little helpers clear the path. A trivial reward would keep them thrilled for hours.

One thing surprised him: in his past life, all players received the same advanced quest—to solo-kill an opponent one tier higher. That was far more impossible. Compared to that, hatching an egg seemed almost manageable.

As the Task Completion Card activated, the quest finished. Zhang Luan felt his mind sharpen instantly.

At that moment, the system chimed:

[First Stage Advanced Quest Completed. Second Stage Advanced Quest unlocks at Level 50.]

[First Stage Life Evolution Talent Selection]

[Primordial Dragon Body]: +600 Endurance, +500 Strength, +300 Intelligence. Lifeform changes. Learn Draconic Magic. Use Dragon Form. All other skills vanish upon selection.

[Dreamwalker]: +20 Intelligence per level. All anomalies gain suppression ability. Reduce mental damage taken by 10%.

[Metamorph]: Use Metamorph Crystal. Lifeform mutates. Graft body parts from units ≤25 levels above you. Gain partial abilities of that unit. -40% Intelligence, -20% Strength.

A flood of data hit Zhang Luan’s vision. He eyed the three talents and chose the second without hesitation. Though each had merits, only Dreamwalker suited him.

Dragon Body was powerful—it’d toughen his frail frame instantly—but losing all other skills was too steep a price. Even with Draconic Magic and Dragon Form, he’d never trade his Ultimate Anomaly for mere dragon spells.

The third option? Out of the question. This talent only appeared because he owned a Metamorph Crystal. Grafting others’ body parts disgusted him, no matter how fast it boosted strength.

Dreamwalker seemed underwhelming at first glance. But its Intelligence boost scaled with levels. Long-term, it was the strongest choice.

Selecting Dreamwalker sent a tingling rush through Zhang Luan’s brain, followed by deep comfort. A contented smile spread across his face as he lay back on the bed, eyes half-closed.

Minutes passed before he snapped back. He rubbed his flushed cheeks, took deep breaths to calm down.

“That was... insanely good. Why didn’t I feel this before? Maybe because I advanced at Level 15? Oh right—what was my quest reward again?”

He opened his panel. His eyes lit up at “[Apocalypse World Bow].” Such a domineering name—it had to be legendary, at minimum. And a bow? Exactly what he wanted.

As he claimed the reward, a terrifying pressure crushed him from all sides. For a dizzying moment, he glimpsed apocalyptic scenes of dying worlds—chilling, bone-deep horrors.

When he regained focus, a dark crimson longbow floated mid-air. Black and red currents crackled along its frame, filling the room with sharp, snapping sounds. This was no ordinary weapon.

Zhang Luan grasped the bow. Its stats appeared instantly:

[Apocalypse World Bow]

Tier: Mythic

Effect 1: World’s End (Sealed)

Effect 2: ???

Effect 3: ???

Effect 4: ???

Effect 5: Toggle between [Crimson Sky] and [Black Moon] forms

[Crimson Sky]: Attacks absorb 20% damage dealt as health. +50% Bleed damage.

[Black Moon]: Attacks absorb 20% damage dealt as mana. +50% Suppression effect.

Effect 6: +100% cast speed for all bow skills.

Description: Let the world end, hahahaha!!! Well, not yet. Her power is sealed. Maybe finding the Apocalypse Starstone will restore her? But is restoring her truly a good idea?

Equip only after advancement.

Bound on pickup.

Zhang Luan’s lips twitched as he read the bow’s stats. This mythic item’s aura felt overwhelmingly intense—“World’s End” alone sounded terrifying.

Unlike the Chaos Wheel, which demanded life force, this bow had zero drawbacks. Pure, raw power boost. Both forms offered perfect synergy: lifesteal and bleed for Crimson Sky; mana drain and suppression for Black Moon. And that +100% bow skill speed? Absolutely broken.

“This is... ridiculously awesome.”

He twirled the bow. The red-black currents stung his palms—not painfully, but with a strangely soothing buzz.

Just as he prepared to test the form-switching, a voice drifted through the door—the same maid who’d tempted him earlier.

“Holy Son, are you asleep?”
