005 Drake Knows No Fear

To protect the wealth he’d "accumulated," Hufu planned to bury Derek and his group in the pitch-black night.

He sent out all his guards.

These were handpicked men—each at least second-tier strong, the strongest even third-tier.

In Hufu’s eyes, this squad was more than enough to kill Derek’s party.

But things didn’t go as planned.

Night wind brushed past. Darkness descended.

Hufu witnessed cold, eerie daggers and his guards’ terrified faces. A brutal scene unfolded in his mansion…

When he snapped back, the hall reeked of thick blood.

The executioner had taken the guards’ lives. His black suit stayed immaculate.

Xinzel walked slowly toward him. Hufu couldn’t resist. Cold sweat poured as he collapsed.

Next, he was lifted like a pig, carried to the study.

Inside, he was slammed onto the floor.

Hufu jolted awake, realizing the truth.

To survive this grim reaper, he had to beg the capital’s young master.

If the boy showed mercy, he might live.

Hufu pleaded desperately.

Derek ignored him, only saying:

"Xinzel, you did well."

The executioner—who’d killed without blinking—bowed respectfully. "Thank you for your praise, Young Master Derek."

Only then did Hufu fully realize!

Everything tonight was Derek’s doing!

From the moment he’d invited them—or earlier—he’d been targeted!

This Derek Wudewen, inheritor of the Wudewen name, had a duke’s cruelty!

Worse, despite his youth, Derek was meticulous. He used every resource to set traps!

Yes, it must be so!

From the banquet’s start, he’d fallen into Derek’s snare!

At dinner, his attention was stolen by a gluttonous little maid.

How could a duke’s son keep such an ill-mannered servant?!

It was deliberate!

Teresia was an actress. To play her part, she stuffed food relentlessly, sacrificing her stomach.

Derek used this decoy to make him careless.

So when Derek asked for the accounts, he agreed without thought.

Later, Derek scribbled nonsense in a notebook, making him underestimate his foe.

Derek must’ve had all the intel. How else could he sort years of messy accounts so fast, no abacus needed?

That display shattered his calm. To cover up, he’d plotted murder.

Unknowingly, he’d stepped into another layer of Derek’s trap!

Derek had prepared a counter—who has a butler this skilled at slaughter?

This wasn’t a butler. It was an executioner hired and disguised by Derek!

His murderous intent exposed, defense was futile now!

This Derek Wudewen, with schemes within schemes, had terrifying depth!

The executioner’s utter respect for Derek confirmed it.

Cold sweat drenched Hufu. He trembled.

Derek, sitting elegantly before him, wasn’t human. He was a scheming little demon, toying with hearts!

Teresia and Sophia didn’t grasp the full scene. But they saw Hufu’s utter terror before Derek.

They’d always hated Hufu.

His lewd stares at them reeked of filthy desire.

Now, seeing him broken, they knew Derek punished him. Satisfaction swelled—and their admiration grew.

Young Master Derek sat so coolly. A few casual words crushed the loathsome Hufu. He was amazing!

Teresia and Sophia gazed at him, eyes sparkling.

Derek seemed calm on the surface.

Inside, his mind was pure chaos!

He admitted ill intent at the invitation—but he only wanted money!

Just calculate accounts, threaten for cash—that was it!

If Hufu cooperated, he wouldn’t be cruel.

How did it escalate to this?

Seeing Hufu’s terror, guessing the bloodshed outside… Derek was scared too!

He knew this world’s brutality. But he’d never seen killing. This plot shouldn’t have sprung out of nowhere!

Oh no, I’m so panicked!

Freaking out!

What now?

Xinzel had already tied Hufu securely. He reported: "Young Master Derek, my earlier work was rushed. After capturing the mastermind, I’ll clean up."

"Go ahead."

Derek replied flatly.

What could he say?

His planned robbery had escalated to murder and theft!

Xinzel, you’re really capable!

Xinzel proved it. Moments later, he returned. "Young Master Derek, all handled."

"Fine. I’m tired. Let’s end tonight and rest."

Though craving money, Derek felt leaving was best.

Something horrifying happened outside. It was scary.

Derek walked out. The corridor was silent.

Servants had vanished. Hufu’s wives—first, second, third—were gone. The huge mansion felt empty.

Guard corpses disappeared, but bloodstains remained. A faint metallic scent hung in the air.

This atmosphere chilled the heart.

Derek swallowed hard.

Scared!

His past life was peaceful office drudgery. Xinzel’s brutality rattled him, despite his efforts to stay calm.

Then Teresia and Sophia pressed close.

Feeling their soft warmth, his fear melted.

Great! He still had the Holy Maiden and the rich lady to huddle with for comfort!

Derek pulled them close. Two human shields—he wasn’t afraid now.

Hufu lived only because the money hadn’t arrived.

Carried by Xinzel, he trembled.

Watching Derek stroll ahead, calm and composed, Hufu screamed inwardly: What the hell!

This demon was so practiced!

Just wiped out his guards, now arm-in-arm with girls, strolling like a garden promenade!

Derek’s exit was flawless. He’d done this before!

Xinzel, however, was deeply moved.

Young Master Derek truly had a kind heart.

Even now, he comforted Teresia and Sophia, giving them courage. He was magnificent!

Derek scared? Impossible.

He’d foreseen everything. Why fear his own perfect plan?
