Lin Jin froze for a moment, sensing her body.
Seemingly... she really was a female cat.
"Meow~" (What should I do, Qin Yi?)
"What are you trying to say?" Qin Yi frowned, turned on the light, switched off the flashlight, and pulled up the stroke-based input app on his phone. "Type it yourself."
Lin Jin was stunned. She hadn't expected this guy to be so quick-witted, coming up with a way to communicate so fast.
"What now?"
The little Li Hua cat felt a slight pain in her paws. She had to control her paw pads to keep her claws from popping out while typing.
"Chill it," Qin Yi made a lame joke. "This is like experiencing what it's like to be a girl, right?"
Lin's mother had always regretted her son wasn't a daughter. Otherwise, he'd be a perfect match for Qin Yi. She'd watched the neighbor boy grow up and knew exactly how reliable he was.
During busy farming season when they were kids, teachers threshed wheat at school. Wheat stacks towered high. Qin Yi and Lin Jin raced to climb up, but Lin Jin accidentally kicked him off. Qin Yi's knee hit broken bottle shards, bleeding heavily. Lin Jin burst into tears, terrified. Qin Yi acted like nothing happened, limping home. He used medical supplies Lin's mother often gave his family to treat his wound.
When Lin's mother rushed over after hearing her son sobbing and confessing, Qin Yi had already tied a neat slipknot on his bandage. She checked briefly and found he'd bandaged it better than she could.
After more incidents, Lin's mother realized how incredibly manly this boy was. She kept lamenting why she hadn't had a daughter. Qin Yi was like her own child, and she didn't want him chasing other girls.
So since childhood, the two had heard plenty of her nagging about it.
Lin Jin snarled unhappily, but the little Li Hua cat was too adorable. Her snarling face looked undeniably cute.
Qin Yi couldn't resist rubbing it again. The feeling of the small, furry head sliding in his palm was indescribably wonderful.
Lin Jin angrily jumped back, retreating from his playful reach. Her fur bristled up like exploding fluff, finally giving her a somewhat fierce beast look.
But only just a bit.
