Instantly, the entire hall erupted in an uproar.

"Syphilis... is it the syphilis I know?"

"What other syphilis could there be? It's an STD!"

"Ew! That sounds terrifying! So that guy must have been messing around before, right?"

At this moment, Huang Yanchen could no longer contain his fear and fury. He roared:

"Chen Yuzhe!"

"I'm telling you, slandering someone without proof is defamation—I can sue you!"

Meanwhile, after a brief mental blank, Li Wanmei frantically pulled out her phone and started searching.

The more she scrolled, the paler her face grew.

"Hey, senior, why so worked up?" Chen Yuzhe waved casually, grinning. "Just get checked at a hospital if you're worried."

"Besides, I'm only saying—syphilis can be easy or hard to catch. Even if you fool around, proper protection keeps you safe."

As he spoke, Chen Yuzhe’s eyes locked onto Huang Yanchen’s face.

Only when the corner of Huang Yanchen’s eye twitched involuntarily did Chen Yuzhe relax.

He’d guessed right.

This guy must’ve chased cheap thrills without a condom.

Li Wanmei probably faced the same issue. Her devotion to Huang Yanchen meant she’d never refuse his demands.

"Anyway, a check-up won’t hurt."

Chen Yuzhe stayed nonchalant. "If I were you, I’d skip the drama here. You should’ve hitched Han Cheng’s ride to the hospital earlier—saved cab fare."

"Oh, and a friendly heads-up."

"Syphilis is actually the best-case scenario. Embarrassing, sure, but treatable."

"But if you caught something incurable—" Chen Yuzhe’s lips curled into a chilling smirk.

The words silenced Huang Yanchen. Whispers about him swelled across the hall. He felt every gaze like a burning spotlight.

His face flushed crimson; fists clenched until knuckles whitened.

Chen Yuzhe stood grinning innocently before him. That harmless smile ignited Huang Yanchen’s rage—he nearly swung a punch.

"Chen Yuzhe, you fucking—"

Just then.

A muscular arm shot out, clamping Huang Yanchen’s wrist like an iron vise. Pain shot through his arm.

He whirled to curse, but froze at the sight of a towering man glaring down sternly.

"Guest. This party house is for fun, not fights."

Jing Pengcheng’s voice turned icy. "Want to brawl? Step outside. I’ll give you a proper beating."

Huang Yanchen shrank back under Jing Pengcheng’s fierce stare.

Simultaneously, a slender hand tugged his sleeve. Li Wanmei pleaded tearfully, "Yanchen, please stop. Let’s go to the hospital—I Baidued it, and the symptoms all match—"

"I’m not sick! No hospital!" Huang Yanchen bellowed, making Li Wanmei flinch away.

"If all you’ve got is screaming at women, bury yourself somewhere quiet. Spare us the nausea of sharing air with you."

Even Chen Yuzhe blinked in surprise at the voice.

Gu Chengjin spoke, his expression grim and utterly unimpressed with Huang Yanchen.

He turned sharply to Li Wanmei. "Senior, I need to ask something vital. Answer honestly—no shame."

"How long... has it been since your last period?"

Li Wanmei froze. Her pupils shrank to pinpricks.

Huh? Chen Yuzhe’s jaw dropped too.

No way. Since when did this junior have doctor skills? Diagnosing pregnancy without a pulse check? He’d be a legendary con artist in ancient times.

Ahem. Not jealous of his character setup or anything.

But if he’s right...

Li Wanmei’s situation was truly tragic.

"I don’t oppose intimacy between couples," Gu Chengjin shook his head, then pinned Huang Yanchen with a cold stare. "But as a man, think before you act. Take responsibility. Don’t let your lower half do the thinking."

"If my guess is correct, haven’t you completely ruined Senior Li Wanmei, you beast?"

Three sentences struck Li Wanmei like lightning. She swayed, barely standing.

Huang Yanchen panted raggedly, regaining a sliver of sanity after a long pause. He glared venomously at Chen Yuzhe and Gu Chengjin, grinding out each word:

"Fine. Fine."

"Chen Yuzhe, you hid deep. I underestimated you."

"Just wait. This ends only when one of us is dead."
