25. Senior Sister, Are You Doing This on

Under the terrifying pressure of Campus Belle Ye Xinyi, Cheng Hao reluctantly made his way to the third floor of Building No. 2.

But upon arrival, he faced a serious problem: Ye Xinyi hadn’t told him which classroom to find her in.

Dozens of classrooms stretched before him. He couldn’t possibly search them one by one.

University life was free, so unlike middle school, no teacher would kick him out for wandering.

But Cheng Hao’s reputation was already ruined. He dared not draw attention to himself.

Students on the third floor noticed his arrival. Their gazes locked onto him.

After all, he’d become a campus celebrity at Donghai University—though infamous for "riding on women’s coattails." Being recognized was inevitable.

"Look, isn’t that the campus belle’s rumored boyfriend?"

"They’ve clarified it already. She was just joking. Still calling it a rumor?"

"But why’s he here? Looking for the belle?"

"Probably. Got dumped and can’t accept it. Trying to win her back with a confession, I bet."

The crowd murmured. Unlike before, their tone now carried pity.

Ye Xinyi was Donghai University’s brightest star—a flawless, untouchable dream girl for every male student.

Yet this pure, exceptional girl had suddenly shown interest in a freshman.

She’d brought him ice cream, cooked sweet soup for him, fussed over his health daily, even made flirtatious gestures.

Any guy would feel dizzy with hope. Any guy would believe, "The campus belle likes me."

Life was like a rollercoaster—only the strong-hearted could endure its twists.

But clearly, not even Cheng Hao—or any man on Earth—could withstand this ride.

Just as he’d mustered courage to confess, believing in a bright future together… horror struck.

Everything had been fake.

The ice cream, the sweet soup, the flirtation—all just a joke.

Ye Xinyi hadn’t given those days a second thought. Cheng Hao, meanwhile, had fantasized about a hundred happy endings.

The blow was unimaginable. Donghai’s male students pictured themselves in his shoes. Some might go mad. Some might even consider suicide.

Now they understood the saying: "Heaven and hell lie in a single thought."

Sighing, the crowd shook their heads. *Such a good kid… ruined. What a waste.*

Cheng Hao sensed the strange atmosphere. *Why are they all staring at me like that?*

He’d spread those rumors himself, but never expected things to spiral this wildly.

They’d believed his one-sided story without question?

*At least doubt it a little!*

*How desperately do you all refuse to accept that the campus belle might date someone?!*

Just as Cheng Hao felt like a monkey in a zoo, a crisp, sweet voice chimed behind him:

"Waiting long, junior? You should’ve texted when you arrived~"

He turned. A breathtakingly beautiful girl stood there, hands clasped behind her back, leaning forward slightly with a radiant smile.

"S-senpai… When did you get behind me?" Cheng Hao pressed a hand to his chest, startled.

"Hmm…" Ye Xinyi tapped her lower lip with a slender finger, tilting her head with an adorably clueless expression. "Since you stepped onto the third floor, I think. Hmph! I stood there so long, and you didn’t even notice me. I’m mad at you~"

Her playful, coquettish tone made Cheng Hao stagger. *Whoa!*

*Senpai, if you’re gonna act cute… at least pick a private spot!*

*You’re turning me into Public Enemy No. 1!*

Cold sweat dotted his handsome face. He forced a stiff smile. "H-haha… Senpai, what did you need me for?"

Ye Xinyi ignored him, studying his face intently.

"S-senpai?" Cheng Hao prompted nervously.

"You silly thing," she chided softly, her smile warm. "Sweating under this scorching sun without an umbrella?"

She reached out, gently wiping his forehead with her thumb—like a devoted girlfriend tending to her lover.

Cheng Hao caught her wrist desperately. "N-no need, Senpai! Seriously, what’s this about?"

"Nothing much," she said, her clear eyes shimmering with tender warmth, lips curving like perfect crescent moons. "I just missed you."

*An angel’s smile…*

*—paired with devilish wings sprouting invisibly behind her.*

*You’re doing this on purpose! I know it!*

"Senpai, please stop joking! My heart can’t take it!" Cheng Hao stumbled backward, putting safe distance between them as if she might pounce.

Ye Xinyi didn’t care. She shuffled closer, her petite frame leaning into his space. She blinked up at him.

"I’m not joking. I really missed you~"

*AAAAAH I’M GOING INSANE!*

*You’re sabotaging me on purpose!*

*We have no grudge—why push me like this?!*

*Do you want me dead to prove a point?!*

Cheng Hao’s chest tightened. He’d fought so hard to cut ties with her, yet she clung like a leech.

*Is this fate?*

*Did we have some past-life feud?!*

To stop her chaos, Cheng Hao deployed his **Secret Technique: Topic Shift**.

"Oh! Senpai, the… the sweet soup! I’m suddenly so thirsty. I’ve been craving your homemade sweet soup all day."

He risked diabetes just to derail the conversation.

"Already prepared!" Ye Xinyi giggled, revealing two pink thermoses from behind her back.

*No…* Cheng Hao thought grimly. *These aren’t thermoses. They’re vessels sealing the world’s deadliest sweet soup—sugar levels lethal enough to give an elephant diabetes.*

"C-can I take it to drink later?" Cheng Hao asked weakly, knowing the answer.

"What do you think?" Ye Xinyi’s eyes narrowed. Her smile remained sweet—but to Cheng Hao, it was a demon’s grin.

"I’ll drink it. Right now." Tears pricked his eyes as he downed both thermoses of cloying syrup.

*From today on, my roommates will never need to buy sugar again.*

*Ding-ding-ding…*

The class bell rang. Cheng Hao’s nightmare finally ended.

"If that’s all, Senpai, I’ll head off. Don’t want to disturb your class."

"Mm! I’ll go to class too. Bye-bye~" Ye Xinyi waved, smiling warmly as she watched him flee.

Her tender gaze didn’t escape the onlookers.

The peanut gallery in Building No. 3 stood speechless.

*Wasn’t she single?*

*Didn’t she dump him?*

*Didn’t his confession fail?*

*—What was going on?*

If they hadn’t seen it themselves, they’d never believe it.

The aloof, untouchable campus belle had just told a freshman she missed him. Cooked for him. *Flirted* with him.

*What kind of love potion did that freshman brew?*

*What is even happening to this world?*
