What's with This Attitude?

This didn’t seem like ignoring her at all. In fact, Li Mo even felt like he was acting as if all her earlier worries had never happened.

It really wasn’t ignoring her—just an ordinary, casual way of talking.

Carrying the performance costume, she walked out of the multi-function hall to the restroom at the back. Tang Zhe’s reaction when he handed her the clothes earlier had completely thrown her off. He’d been giving her the cold shoulder before, but just now, he’d been totally different.

So was he actually still mad or not?!

"Holy crap, hurry up! It’s almost seven!"

Just as she reached the restroom entrance, several boys in various costumes rushed out of the men’s room. The women’s room was only letting people out, not in. Compared to other spotless restrooms, this one had basically become a changing room for students.

Li Mo was the same—but there was one problem: where should she go?

Socially speaking, she belonged in the men’s room. But…

She was alone this time, and this outfit wasn’t something you could just slip on over your clothes. It was a gown—a formal dress that required stripping down completely.

Changing alone in the men’s room? If all the stalls were taken, or even a tiny mishap happened… or if she just walked out normally while holding the clothes, trouble was likely. After all, she was ridiculously cute.

Damn it! She absolutely didn’t want any boys seeing her like that!

But the women’s room…

If she ran into someone who knew her, they’d kick her out instantly. This disguise only worked with strangers.

Guess it had to be the men’s room then! Luckily, Li Mo’s worst fears didn’t come true. That earlier crowd must’ve been the last group. Inside, no one was changing anymore. She quickly locked herself in the farthest stall, pulled the dress from the bag, and started getting ready.

But…

"What is this thing…?"

Li Mo had already stripped down when she realized the gown was a nightmare to put on.

The skirt trailed all the way to her ankles. To keep the hem off the floor, she’d need one hand holding it up the whole time.

The floor looked clean, but it was still a restroom floor—she refused to let her outfit touch it!

Come to think of it, she’d been visiting this restroom way too often lately.

"Buzz—"

Her phone vibrated suddenly on the semicircular paper rack. Li Mo gasped, one hand still holding the gown up while she grabbed the phone to stop it from falling.

"Phew…"

That was close—almost lost a phone.

Heart still pounding, she unlocked it to find a private message from Tang Zhe on QQ:

"Which restroom are you in? Why aren’t you back yet? Changing takes this long? Want me to come help?"

Help?!

His words hit her like a truck. Li Mo’s face burned crimson—especially since she was only in her underwear right now.

Help?! Help your grandma change?! Die, you pervert! It’d only been minutes! Why rush her? Did he think all clothes were just slip-on? Was he dumb or just thirsty?!

"No need! I’ll be right back!"

Fuming with embarrassment, she typed the reply, then silenced the phone and stuffed it into her bag. Back to wrestling with this impossible dress.

"What’s he even doing?"

Zhang Wanting had been waiting backstage for ages. The area was nearly empty now—only the next two performance groups lingered. Everyone else had finished prepping and returned to their classes.

She was getting impatient. Backstage felt stuffier than outside, and the longer she waited, the more restless she grew. Plus, she’d missed the earlier acts.

As a freshman, she’d felt special hanging out in this off-limits zone like staff. But now, as a senior, she just wanted to leave.

"Dunno. He said he’d be back soon…"

Tang Zhe felt awkward. Zhang Wanting had just finished his makeup and sat down in the audience when he called her back. And now they’d been waiting forever.

"Maybe she doesn’t know how to wear it…"

Wang Ziheng offered his guess.

His own job was done—he was only here because of that idiot. Besides, that guy was new to being a girl, and with a family like…

He thought of his unreliable aunt and the uncle who hated his guts…

Yeah, post-surgery, she’d never attended events needing formal wear. His dumb sister definitely wouldn’t know how.

"What’s so hard? It’s just a—"

As a girl, Zhang Wanting saw no issue—it was only a dress. But guys might overthink it. Tang Zhe was already planning to help. Li Mo was prideful; "no need" probably meant she was too embarrassed to admit she couldn’t do it. Or worse—she might be planning to ditch the dress entirely!

"Hold on—"

Wang Ziheng tried to stop him, but the sharp "clack-clack-clack" of high heels cut him off. Seconds later, Li Mo rushed backstage, dress bag hanging from her neck, skirt gripped tightly in both hands.

She’d ditched the wig. Her shoulder-length hair was messy but a relief. Still…

Her feet ached! She really wasn’t used to heels.

"…Finally! Sit down—I’ll finish your makeup fast."

Though barefaced, the milky-white gown on Li Mo stunned everyone for a second. Zhang Wanting snapped to action, pulling her to a corner stool and starting the makeup.

She’d actually worn it.

Tang Zhe was slightly shocked. Until just now, he’d expected Li Mo to bail with excuses.

And honestly… Auntie Wang had great taste. It suited her perfectly.

The dress fit Li Mo’s figure like a glove. The soft color wasn’t flashy, and nothing was revealing—but it hugged her curves just right…

Curves?

Wait—was that a hint of chest under the tight fabric?

Tang Zhe’s sharp eyes caught the slight swell on Li Mo’s chest.

He knew it was kinda wrong to stare, but…

He’d deal with that later.

Zhang Wanting’s hands were steady. As class beauty, she’d practiced makeup for years on weekends. Though not pro-level, she outshone her peers—fast but precise.

"Done!"

Thanks to that, she finished in just fifteen minutes. Women’s makeup took longer than men’s; for Tang Zhe, she’d have wrapped up in ten.

"Stand up and show them. Don’t be shy—you’ve got great features. You look amazing now."

Zhang Wanting propped her chin on her hand, nodding in satisfaction.

"…"

Just as she said.

When the flustered Li Mo turned her face toward Tang Zhe, he felt a jolt in his heart.

Like seeing an angel.
