"Officer, you’ve got to help me!"

Inside the police station, the young man blubbered uncontrollably, tears and snot streaming down his face—he was practically clinging to the officer’s leg.

"These three people beat me up! Look at my face! Look at my head!"

He piteously pointed to his injuries, but the officer couldn’t be bothered.

This guy was a known loiterer around the amusement park—always causing trouble, spending over half the month locked up. So the officer was quietly pleased. *Finally*, the brat had met his match.

"So… what happened?" Reluctant but duty-bound—the kid *was* bruised—the officer sighed.

"Officer, this guy tried getting handsy with my sister. She handled him~"

The officer glanced at the gentle-looking Su Qing, mentally giving her a thumbs-up.

"Then why’d you hit *me*?!" the guy yelled at Su Shui, clutching his head.

"Duh! You were harassing my sister *and* my wife! Who else would I hit?" Su Shui said, casually weighing the brick in his hand.

Spotting the brick, the guy ducked behind the officer. "See?! *This* brick hit me!"

"Sir, please put that down," the officer said, shoving the guy out with clear disdain.

Civil disputes were messy. Best let them hash it out.

"You hit me—you fix it!" the guy jabbed at his wounds, trying to extort Su Shui.

"How much?" Su Shui asked bluntly.

Lin Ning and Su Qing stared. *This* guy—who squeezed onto buses to avoid taxi fares and haggled over cabbage—was paying *willingly*?!

The guy sized Su Shui up. "Two thousand!" He flashed two fingers.

"Fine. But you cracked *my* brick. Compensate me." Su Shui lifted it, showing the fissures.

"Pfft, it’s just a brick~" The guy waved dismissively, thinking Su Shui was an idiot.

"Pay up: three thousand seven hundred."

"What?! Is it *gold*?!" The guy’s eyes narrowed. *Don’t try to scam me.*

"Check for yourself." Su Shui showed his phone: *Supreme Brick – ¥3,800*.

The guy gaped at the brick, speechless.

"Let’s… renegotiate~"

"Nope. We agreed: you pay two thousand. My brick’s worth three thousand five. Hand over fifteen hundred and we’re square."

He pleaded with the officer. Ignored. *Good.* Time he learned his lesson.

Su Shui bantered while the guy’s frustration mounted—*amusing*.

Su Qing checked her watch, pulled the officer aside. "Officer, I’d like to file a report."

"Hm? About what?"

"This guy’s a scalper. Tried selling us tickets earlier."

"Scalping *again*?!" The officer yanked his collar, fished a stack of park tickets from his pocket.

"Enjoy your extended stay."

Struggling, the guy was dragged away.

...

...

Outside, Su Shui tossed the brick aside.

"Bro, where’d you *get* this?" Su Qing eyed him skeptically. *No way* he spent three grand on a brick.

"Can’t it be a collectible?" Su Shui huffed, stung by her doubt.

Before she replied, Lin Ning murmured, "I believe you bought it. So… you hid *secret savings* from me?!"

"No! Swear on my life, dear! I *found* it—see the cracks?!" Su Shui flailed.

Lin Ning flipped him down, yanked off his shoe. "Hiding cards *here*? Worried about demagnetizing?!" She shoved the insole back. "How much?"

"Just… two thousand," he muttered.

Lin Ning strode to the ATM.

"You don’t know the password~" Su Shui smirked.

*Account balance: ¥10,000.*

Su Shui turned ghost-white, collapsing to his knees.

"Confiscated. All your passwords are my birthday~" Lin Ning pocketed the card, flashing Su Qing a smug glance.

"Hmph!" Su Qing turned away—and "accidentally" stomped his foot.

"Wife, I’m sorry!" Su Shui launched into a dramatic 360-degree kneel. Fifty meters back, he sprinted thirty, *thudded* to his knees, and slid perfectly to Lin Ning’s feet.

"Why hide *ten thousand*? Got a mistress somewhere…?" Lin Ning narrowed her eyes. Even dejected Su Qing leaned in.

Pinch. Twist.

"Argh!"

"I swear! Who’d even *look* at me?!"

Lin Ning frowned. He usually hid cash in 648-yuan chunks for gacha pulls—two grand max. *Ten thousand?* Alarm bells blared.

"It’s… our anniversary," Su Shui mumbled, head bowed, fingers twisting his hem. "Wanted to take you out…"

Lin Ning’s heart melted. Cheeks flushed, she shyly mirrored his fidgeting.

"You two—*go in*!" Su Qing snapped, blindsided by the sudden couple sweetness.

Stony-faced, she marched ahead with the tickets. Lin Ning followed. Su Shui stood ticketless, dumbfounded.

"Guess I’ll head home~"

"No!" "No!"

In unison. Lin Ning dialed calmly. "Uncle? Need one more park ticket. *Please*."
