"Look, this car only has two seats—perfect for you two," Su Shui patted Lin Ning’s sports car. "I’ll skip it. Saves me from squeezing in with you both~"
"Don’t dream it—you’re just lazy!" Lin Ning grabbed his ear. "Move now! Take your own car!"
Su Shui reluctantly led them to his minivan and started the engine.
……
……
A bright yellow Ferrari rolled into the parking lot, circling but finding no empty spot.
A bony guy with neon-green hair, ear studs, and nose rings dangling everywhere drove it.
He had an arm around a heavily made-up woman beside him.
Pulling up beside Su Shui’s minivan, he eyed the shabby vehicle freshly parked in the spot.
"Hey! Kid, I want your spot—move it now!"
The guy leaned out, shouting at Su Shui while pulling a wad of hundred-dollar bills from his pocket.
Glancing at the cash, he winced slightly and peeled off two bills.
"Move your car fast—here’s two hundred for you!"
He grinned smugly: snagging a spot *and* showing off his cash to his date.
Seeing her admiring gaze, he felt like the coolest guy alive.
Su Shui watched this fool wobble out of his car.
"I’ll give you three hundred—just leave!"
Su Shui snatched the two hundred, added a hundred from his pocket, and tossed it into the guy’s car.
"Huh?!" The guy snatched the cash off his face. "No one dares challenge me!"
He gritted his teeth, instantly fired up.
Grabbing another wad, he hurled it at Su Shui. "Two thousand!"
"Two thousand one!" Su Shui pulled out another hundred and tossed it in.
"Four thousand!"
"Four thousand one!"
"Five thousand!"
"Five thousand one!"
No matter how much the guy threw, Su Shui always added just one hundred more.
"My demolition payout came through—you’d better not push me!"
The guy flung over ten thousand, jabbing a finger at Su Shui threateningly.
Spotting his empty pockets, Su Shui pretended to cave.
"Fine, you win—I’ll take the loss!" He stomped, stuffed the cash into his jeans, and bolted to his car.
Afraid the guy would catch on, Su Shui gunned his engine and sped off.
The green-haired guy slowly reversed into the spot, patting his chest in relief.
"Good thing he got scared—I’d have had to hit the bank otherwise!"
The woman beside him forced an awkward smile.
"Yeah, yeah—your aura totally scared him off~" She said it sweetly, but inwardly laughed.
"Love these dumb, rich fools~"
……
……
"Hehe, babe—see? I made money too~"
Su Shui drove, pulling out the cash and grinning proudly at the two in the back through the rearview mirror.
"Wow! Amazing~" Lin Ning beamed admiringly.
"Just average~"
"Then you should…" Lin Ning reached her small hand from behind, waving it at him.
"?" Su Shui played dumb. Seizing a traffic gap, he kissed her palm.
"You know what I mean!" Lin Ning pinched his cheek, then held out her fair hand again.
"Babe~"
Su Shui reluctantly placed the money in her hand—his face twisted like he was losing flesh.
"No arguing!"
Lin Ning snatched it, happily counting the bills.
Nan Surou watched curiously, thinking:
"President Lin never grins like this over million-dollar deals~"
"Here—your allowance~"
Lin Ning pulled out three hundred and stuffed it into Su Shui’s pocket.
"Babe, only this much…?" Su Shui frowned unhappily.
"Not enough?" Lin Ning reached to grab it back. "Give it here then!"
"Don’t!" Su Shui twisted his hips, guarding the cash in his pocket.
……
……
Ding dong.
Early morning. Liu Shuang still slept in her warm bed.
A simply dressed auntie stood at her door, gently pressing the bell.
No one answered after a long wait.
"What’s Xiao Shuang doing?!"
Not until after seven did Liu Shuang slowly crawl out of bed.
Ding dong.
Hearing it, she rushed downstairs and opened the door.
"Oh! Mom, what brings you here?" She stared in surprise.
"Just visiting you~" Liu Shuang’s mom walked in, hands behind her back, scanning the room.
"Where’s your boyfriend?"
Her mom raised an eyebrow and stomped upstairs.
She tiptoed to Liu Shuang’s bedroom door, peeking through a crack.
"What are you spying on? No one’s here!" Liu Shuang scowled, shoving the door open.
"Sigh~" Her mom looked regretful. "Your boyfriend?"
"Aren’t you here for *me*? Why hunt for him?"
"Tch—I finally get to see this boyfriend of yours. I told you my blind dates are better…"
Seeing her mom start nagging, Liu Shuang clamped a hand over her mouth. "I *have* a boyfriend! Forget blind dates!"
"But just look—this is Prince Badi…" Her mom pulled out a tablet, showing photos. "If you dislike him, I have more…"
"I don’t need it!" Liu Shuang clutched her head, shouting in frustration.
"I don’t care. Today: blind date *or* show me your boyfriend. Or I’m staying!"
Her mom sat cross-legged on the sofa, pulling a pillow and blanket from her suitcase.
"Mom! Please spare me~"
……
……
"Mom~ Fruit time~" Liu Shuang set a huge bowl on the coffee table.
"Oh ho—all my favorites~" Her mom popped two grapes into her mouth.
"Mom, I’ll book your return flight later…"
"Don’t dream it! I’m not leaving easily!"
Spotting Liu Shuang’s plan, her mom dropped the fruit and hugged the sofa.
Liu Shuang stared helplessly, a headache pounding.
"Where do I *find* a boyfriend?!" She screamed inwardly, regretting her fake boyfriend lie to dodge dates.
Mid-standoff, the doorbell rang again.
"I’ll get it!"
Liu Shuang ran to open it, her mom trailing behind.
The door swung open—Lin Ning stood there with Nan Surou and Su Shui.
"We’re here to—"
Before Lin Ning finished, Liu Shuang yanked them inside.
Pointing at the trio, she declared to her mom:
"Mom, *this* is my boyfriend!"
