The living room was littered with cotton fluff and scattered throw pillows.

Lin Ning and Su Qing sat on the sofa, sulking and refusing to look at each other.

Originally, all four had been playing Overcooked, but Su Qing and Lin Ning started fighting mid-game.

...

...

"Why aren’t you chopping the meat?" Lin Ning tossed her controller and pointed at Su Qing.

"Your pan’s still got finished burgers! What’s the rush?"

"Then why did you bump into me?"

"Because you didn’t dodge!"

Su Qing threw down her controller, grabbed a pillow, and hurled it at Lin Ning.

"Little brat, getting cocky, huh?" Lin Ning, pillow-slammed in the face, leaped off the sofa to retaliate.

What began as a fun game session turned into an all-out war between the two women.

Pillows and cushions flew everywhere; some stuffed toys were ripped open, spilling white cotton across the floor. Both were covered head to toe in fluff.

"I never want to play with you again!" Su Qing jabbed a finger at Lin Ning.

"Like I enjoy playing with you either!"

Back-to-back on the sofa, they sat as dust settled in the quiet room.

Where were Su Shui and Lin Feng during this battle?

Su Shui, sensing trouble, had expertly dragged the would-be peacemaker Lin Feng to hide.

"Kid, women’s wars blow over fast. If we jump in, we’ll just have to pick sides—and end up hated by both," Su Shui lectured gravely, itching to light a cigarette to recount his marital battles.

"Really?" Lin Feng worriedly eyed the fighters. "Won’t they get hurt?"

"Nah. They’re loud, but no real hits. Besides, Xiao Qing’s one of the rare few who can match your sister blow for blow."

"But must we hide here?" Lin Feng squirmed uncomfortably. Su Shui had stuffed them under the TV cabinet.

"You don’t get it," Su Shui sat perfectly still inside. "This is my safest spectator spot!"

"Fine..." Lin Feng leaned back, then felt something above him.

He yanked hard—*rip!*—a small yellow cloth pouch tore loose from the cabinet.

"What’s this..." Lin Feng examined it. Su Shui’s face paled instantly.

"Oh? What’ve we got here~" Su Shui feigned ignorance, reaching to snatch it.

Lin Feng dodged, arm stretched outside the cabinet. "What are you doing?" he glared.

"Just curious~" Su Shui grinned, then pinned Lin Feng down when he wasn’t looking.

They tumbled out, Su Shui still wrestling for the pouch.

"Xiao Feng, hand it over!"

"No way! Finders keepers—split it fifty-fifty!"

"Thirty percent!"

"Nope, half! If my sister finds out—" Lin Feng threatened, but a voice cut in overhead.

"Find out what?"

Lin Ning stood there, gently plucking the pouch from Lin Feng’s hand.

"How much is hidden here this time~"

"Wife, listen—I had no idea about the game update! I just wanted to... buy you a new dress!" Su Shui begged with pleading eyes, hoping for mercy.

"Oh, how thoughtful~" Lin Ning pocketed the pouch. "New dress time~"

Su Shui lay face-down, lifeless. Lin Feng had already bolted to avoid revenge.

Su Qing crouched beside Su Shui, gently patting his head.

"Xiao Qing~" Su Shui soaked in his sister’s comfort.

"I really want a new dress too~" Su Qing murmured. Su Shui stared in horror.

"Fine, fine—here’s money!"

Hands trembling, he pulled out his wallet.

"A kid’s dress can’t cost much..." he muttered, reaching for two hundred bucks. Su Qing’s small hand shot out.

"Thanks, bro!"

She yanked hard—the wallet flew into her grasp.

"Devil!"

Watching his sister skip away humming, Su Shui wept bitter tears.

"Brother-in-law, I also want—" Lin Feng dashed over, hoping for a handout.

Glaring at the money-sucker, Su Shui jumped up and kicked Lin Feng’s butt.

"Scram!"

...

...

"And I have to clean this mess too!"

Su Shui dragged himself off the floor, wallet trauma fading, only to face the wrecked living room.

"Such a hard life~"

Broom and mop in hand, he shuffled in, utterly listless.

"Huh?" Spotless floors, re-stitched toys—he felt like he was dreaming.

"Bro, move!"

Su Qing, in a tiny apron, vacuumed the floor.

She shooed Su Shui to the sofa beside Lin Ning.

"*Phew~*" Su Qing wiped sweat from her brow. "All done~"

"Good job, Xiao Qing!" Su Shui fussed over her, pressing her onto the sofa to massage her shoulders. "So diligent~ Unlike some people who just confiscate my secret stash and never lift a finger..." He mumbled, sneaking glances at Lin Ning.

"Hey! I avoid simple chores on principle!" Lin Ning shot back.

"Really?" Su Qing feigned shock.

"Of course! Watch—I’ll do laundry right now—" Lin Ning rolled up her sleeves, marching toward the laundry room.

"No need. Done~" Su Qing pointed to clothes drying on the balcony.

"Then I’ll wipe windows—"

"Spotless already!"

"Dishes then!"

"Finished~" Su Qing emerged from the kitchen, drying her hands.

Lin Ning circled the spotless house.

"See? No help needed~"

"Xiao Qing’ll make a perfect wife~" Su Shui ruffled her hair proudly.

"*Hmph~*" Lin Ning puffed her cheeks. "Su Shui, your clothes need washing!"

She yanked him bare—only his underwear remained.

"Just laundry!" Lin Ning dumped all clothes into the washer. "How much detergent?" She frowned at the dispenser cup. "Fill it all, I guess!"

*Glug glug glug*—she poured in half a bucket. The machine whirred to life.
