"Alright, big brother, you're such a chicken~"
Su Qing sprawled across the café table, watching Su Shui frantically call and text Lin Ning.
"Maybe her phone just died~" Su Qing pouted, murmuring softly.
"You don’t get it. Your sister-in-law gets jealous if I even chat with a female teacher for two sentences. If I skip this trip without her, she’ll blow the roof off!"
Su Shui typed another text as he spoke.
Su Qing slapped his phone down on the table and glared. "Who’s this female teacher?!"
"Our focus shouldn’t be on the teacher… right~" Su Shui said cautiously, baffled by women’s weird priorities.
"That’s irrelevant! Where’d this teacher even come from?!" Su Qing slammed her palm on the table, shouting.
"Shh, keep it down~" Feeling stares from the crowd, Su Shui waved his hands, urging Su Qing to calm down.
Su Qing noticed the disturbance and slowly sat back, but kept glaring at him with wide eyes.
"Just that new English teacher in your class… we bumped into each other in the hallway and chatted briefly."
"Tch!" Su Qing bit her nails, picturing the teacher’s ample curves—Su Shui’s type. "You’re banned from my school now!"
Su Qing aimed to isolate Su Shui from any threats, focusing solely on Lin Ning.
"Ah! What about parent-teacher meetings?"
"I’ll go with you!"
Only when Su Shui finally nodded did Su Qing smile and hand back his phone.
Su Shui made one last desperate call to Lin Ning—and it connected.
"Hey, wifey…"
Su Qing sipped her drink quietly, watching her brother act all smitten.
"Kinda annoying!"
…………
……
"Xiao Qing… do we really have to ride this?!" Su Shui stood by the seaside in garish floral swim trunks.
Before him loomed a giant sphere tethered to two cables.
They sat inside it. The machine launched them skyward like a cannonball.
Watching couples board flushed with excitement, only to vomit and crawl off afterward.
Su Shui’s legs trembled as he clung to a lamppost.
"Of course! I came here just for this!" Su Qing chirped, eyes sparkling at the swaying sphere.
"No way!" Su Shui wished he could fuse with the lamppost. "I wanna live longer! I still plan kids with Lin Ning!"
That backfired. Su Qing’s face darkened.
Oh, kids? With Lin Ning?
She grabbed his shoulders and yanked him backward.
"You’re riding it today—no excuses!"
"Wait! Your swimsuit’s so cute; what if the wind blows it open~" Su Shui squirmed.
"Cute! Hehe~" Su Qing’s cheeks flushed slightly as she giggled.
Sensing her grip loosen, Su Shui pressed his advantage. "Your chest padding’s so thick—it’ll fall out up there~"
"Move!" Su Qing twisted his fingers and dragged him forward.
"No! What’d I say wrong this time? Aaaah!"
Forced by Su Qing and staff, Su Shui was strapped into the seat.
"I don’t want to! Let me down!"
He flailed like he was on the rack.
"Sir, stop struggling. Just ride with her, or your girlfriend’ll get mad~" The staffer chuckled wryly. Beside him, Su Qing ducked her head, blushing happily.
"This staffer’s so sharp-eyed~" she thought admiringly.
"Still no!"
"Fine, keep this up and the straps’ll fail—you’ll plummet!" Su Qing hissed in his ear. Su Shui snapped upright. "Tie me tighter!"
Eyes shut tight, Su Shui sat rigid. Su Qing watched his profile.
She gently held his hand. "Don’t fear. I’m here with you~"
"Okay… AAAAAH!" The machine jolted. Su Shui’s scream shattered the moment.
He gripped her hand, eyes sealed shut.
The sphere hovered dozens of stories high.
Su Qing squeezed his hand, shouting. "Bro! Look—so beautiful~"
Su Shui peeked through a slit. Ocean and sky melted into one.
"Truly stunning~"
"Bro!" Su Qing steeled herself.
"What?"
"I… I… I li—"
"AAAAAH!" The machine plunged. Su Shui wailed, tears and snot streaming.
…………
……
Staggering off the ride, Su Shui leaned on the wall, world spinning. His legs buckled.
Su Qing supported him, gathering courage to say what she’d choked on earlier.
"I… I…, forget it!" She vowed to report this ride for its awful timing.
Plan failed~
…………
……
Su Shui whined to flee the beach. Su Qing abandoned her plans.
"Such a shame~"
"Shame? I nearly wet myself from fear!"
They sat in a seaside shack. As the saying goes: after a scare, eat to calm nerves.
Su Shui ordered two fried noodle plates, two shaved ices, and a giant fruit mix bowl.
Who knew what this shop sold? The menu even listed hot pot and Western dishes.
"Magical place~"
Su Shui’s gaze drifted to a bikini-clad waitress.
Spotting his leer, Su Qing stomped his foot under the table.
"Ouch!" Su Shui clutched his foot, glaring at Su Qing, who ate noodles innocently.
"Why’d you stomp me?!"
"You know why! Eyes forward!"
"I was appreciating beauty—purely artistic!" Su Shui declared earnestly. Su Qing glared.
"Guess if I buy that!"
"I think you should~"
"Ouch!" His other foot got stomped. He stared at his reddened soles.
"What did my feet ever do to you?!"
"Right, I’m sorry!" Su Qing stood and bowed deeply.
"Apologize by massaging my feet or… ah!"
She jabbed two fingers at his eyes.
"Your feet are blameless. How about going blind instead?"
