"...Seriously, which way should I go?" Yue Ge silently lifted his head, gazing at the unchanging ceiling. He began to question his existence.

After leaving Area A and returning to Area B, he’d wandered here for nearly half an hour. He felt like he could sketch this floor’s map from memory. Yet he still hadn’t found Room 201 that Doctor Bai Ya mentioned. If not for all other room numbers starting with "2", he’d have thought he was on the wrong floor.

Yue Ge suspected Room 201 wasn’t on the second floor at all. Otherwise, he’d have found it by now. Unfortunately, Doctor Bai Ya had called away everyone in this area beforehand. So despite wandering so long, he hadn’t seen a single living soul to ask for directions.

After resting a moment, Yue Ge decided to take the elevator to another floor. He needed to find someone to ask—circling endlessly wasn’t working. But before he reached the elevator, he spotted a familiar figure.

"Cough, cough… Why are you still here? Is your interview over?" Crow wore a new black coat, visible from afar. His voice was noticeably weaker than before, coughing between words. The mask still covered his face, hiding his expression.

Hmm… Seeing it wouldn’t matter anyway. Yue Ge had seen Crow without his mask. He wouldn’t need makeup for a haunted house—he could definitely scare kids to tears.

"It ended long ago. By the way, Crow, where’s Room 201?" Yue Ge asked quickly. He’d finally found someone alive and didn’t want to keep wandering.

"Room 201? Not here. Cough… I think it’s on the mezzanine level," Crow replied between coughs.

"…Are you okay?" Yue Ge asked, seeing how deathly weak Crow looked.

"Not dead yet." Crow shook his head calmly. "This area stores strong sedatives. I’ll be fine in a few days."

He’d rushed back earlier to get those sedatives. Only this spot had high-efficiency ones; the warehouse held weaker versions for ordinary Chosen Ones.

Truthfully, if Yue Ge’s strike hadn’t nearly knocked him out of his Essence state, Crow wouldn’t be this battered. As long as he stabilized his Essence, injuries meant nothing. But even with heavy sedatives, he couldn’t fight for days. His Essence needed full stabilization first.

Beyond frustration, Crow felt deep curiosity about Yue Ge—his abilities, his motives. Barring surprises, they’d be colleagues soon. They might not meet often, but a bond would form.

Thinking this, Crow offered, "Follow me. But Doctor Bai Ya’s likely busy now. Are you sure you want to see her?"

"What’s she doing?" Yue Ge asked, trailing behind.

"Probably giving a public lecture to researchers. I don’t know the exact theory part." Crow sounded used to it—this wasn’t his first time. "But calling everyone? Must be about ‘creation’."

"Creating Essence?" Yue Ge was curious how Essences were made. "Is it too late to join?"

"You’d make it. The session runs till evening." Crow nodded. "But I don’t recommend going now."

"Why?" Yue Ge frowned.

"Room 201 has only one door. It’s likely locked to avoid disturbances. Creating Essence requires extreme precision—machines alone can’t handle it. Within the Organization, only Doctor Bai Ya has fully created a Divine Factor. Even for High Danger Class, her success rate is unmatched."

"Hmm… I’ll wait outside then." Yue Ge dropped the idea of peeking in. Crow’s praise meant little—he already knew Doctor Bai Ya was formidable. But objectively, his status paled beside hers. To Crow, he was just her sidekick. Calling him an "assistant" was a flimsy excuse; why would she need someone clueless about Essence?

As long as Yue Ge and Doctor Bai Ya stayed silent, no one would know his Essence was Divine. Even Lingkong had only guessed. Yue Ge was certain his file omitted this detail. So if he acted unusually, others would blame his "unique" Essence—not link it to Divine Factor.

No clear way existed to distinguish Divine from High Danger Class Essences. This wasn’t fiction where activation glowed with colorful light. Only one trait set them apart: destructive power. Even the weakest Divine Factor far surpassed High Danger Class.

Frankly, a dozen Crows couldn’t match Doctor Bai Ya’s destruction speed. High Danger to Divine was a qualitative leap. But since she rarely fought, she never fully unleashed that power.

As for Yue Ge himself, without a benchmark, he didn’t know his own limits. He lacked not Essence knowledge, but thrilling battles to test himself. He’d stopped overthinking—no matter what, he’d do what needed doing.

Today’s fight proved it. If Crow hadn’t stopped first, one of them would have died—likely Crow. Personal wishes rarely changed harsh realities.

Maybe Yue Ge was strong enough now to handle most situations. But it wasn’t enough. He had to climb higher, grow powerful enough to control his fate in any scenario. Otherwise, strength meant nothing.

Not having a clear purpose yet didn’t matter. He had time to figure it out—unlike busy ordinary people.

"You sure you’ll wait here?" Crow led him to the mezzanine. Outside the elevator, only an empty corridor stretched ahead. The sole door stood tightly shut.

"If I wander again, I’ll get lost." Yue Ge smiled wryly. He wasn’t directionally challenged, but this building seemed designed to confuse. Without a map, anyone would lose their way.

"By the way, will you join the Support Squad?" Crow asked suddenly.

"Haven’t decided." Yue Ge shook his head. He’d ask Doctor Bai Ya first. Compared to the erratic Lingkong, he trusted her more.

Lingkong’s grand goals might be genuine. But how much personal ambition hid within? Yue Ge wouldn’t take his words at face value. Saints only existed in ancient texts.

"We mostly stay in the Force for… personal reasons." Crow shrugged. "But the Support Squad holds real power. Consider it if you’re interested."

"Like what?" Yue Ge pressed.

"Most emergencies are handled by the Operations Division. The Support Squad’s true role is ‘oversight’ and ‘cleanup’." Crow leaned against the wall. "If that doesn’t appeal, you needn’t join the Organization. There’s no requirement."

Yue Ge paused, then replied, "I’ll think about it. When will the tablet and documents arrive?"

"Someone will deliver them to Doctor Bai Ya. You’ll have them by tonight." Crow waved, heading toward an elevator. "I won’t disturb you further. See you around—I’ll be at headquarters these days."

Yue Ge didn’t stop him. He watched Crow leave, mulling over his words.

Oversight… and cleanup?
