Episode 50: Lin Luo’s Weapon (Part One)

They walked through the morning forest. The weather was cool; a gentle breeze flowed. Lin Luo was in a pretty good mood today.

A few days ago, he’d suggested to the Holy Maiden, the class monitor, that they push exploration farther out. You Xun accepted. He hadn’t expected so many “helpers.”

He’d wanted to go with just him, Feier, and Ziwan.

He only hoped Young Master Huang and the others wouldn’t add extra trouble.

Lin Luo flicked his dark-blue mid-length hair and felt the wind between the trees.

What? That motion looked a bit girly?

Heh.

As a God Emperor, he had a deeper grasp of life and the truths of the cosmos.

Earning recognition from girls—that was a man’s pride.

Appearance? If you change it on purpose to prove something, that only screams insecurity.

Today’s Lin Luo was full of confidence.

No wonder. These days he’d been running escort, gathering, and hunting with Feier and Ziwan. Their rapport kept improving. Good chemistry with girls bolstered a man’s confidence.

Ziwan had her period today and didn’t come.

That reminded everyone a single camp, a single class, couldn’t sustain life for long. Supplies were painfully scarce. Each person had only one set of clothes. Many girls had to air-dry their underwear and sleep with nothing underneath at night.

How big was this forest? Where were other human civilizations? What other resource points lay in the woods? Those were among today’s goals.

Lin Luo and Feier walked at the rear. They chatted now and then. Not “tell each other everything,” but not distant either. A bit of space, a wish to close it. That slightly ambiguous vibe.

Just then, Yi Kexin looped back from the front. She wore a white cropped tank and a brown leather skirt. Her single ponytail swished. Her tanned skin shone healthy under the sun.

Yi Kexin gave Lin Luo and Feier a strange look. “Feier, why are you always with Lin Luo lately?”

“Is that not allowed?” Feier and Yi Kexin had gotten along fine. But hearing that, she forced a smile and countered.

“Huh?” Yi Kexin seemed surprised by her tone. She adjusted and slipped her arm through Feier’s. “Party with us. From now on, Young Master Huang will lead us. He’s a British heartthrob!”

A British heartthrob? Lin Luo actually felt better about British gentlemen.

“Aren’t we teamed up right now?” Lin Luo couldn’t help asking.

Yi Kexin shot him a contemptuous look. He had no idea how he’d offended her. She’d never had a good eye for him.

“Well, if it isn’t little-sis Lin. Don’t always trail behind your big-sis Feier, okay? Sometimes, let Feier hang with a real hunk. Handsome isn’t the same as pretty!”

Lin Luo’s face darkened. He hated being called “Lin-sis” or “Sister Lin.” If guys said it, fine. He didn’t care what men thought. But coming from a girl, it was hard to swallow.

Besides, Li Wendong meant it from the heart. You couldn’t blame him.

Zhang Dajian was probably joking.

But Yi Kexin’s tone had barbs.

A good man doesn’t bicker with women. Lin Luo wouldn’t stoop to her level. Not bickering didn’t mean no lesson.

Teaching her a lesson would be for her own good.

“Huh?” Yi Kexin noticed something on his back—a black, thick, long thing.

Her previously dismissive gaze flushed red. The waves it gave off probably tugged at a woman’s soul. She was an Awakened, after all. She could now passively sense some of the world’s impossible things.

It was a weapon Lin Luo had pulled from his storage space. As a God Emperor, he’d mastered many arms. He figured he should have a go-to weapon. So he casually picked one he liked from the weapons he’d looted in the Starry Sky Temple.

It was a Great Sword, pitch-black, nearly as long as he was tall. It wasn’t exactly a Japanese blade in shape. It carried a more fantastical, exotic-civilization look, with sparse, low-key, simple adornments.

“What… what weapon is that?” Yi Kexin looked down on Lin Luo, but she didn’t dare underestimate that black, long, thick weapon. Her voice shook.

“Dark Encounter.”

Lin Luo didn’t actually know the name of this black Great Sword from the depths of the cosmos. He’d just made one up.

After the blade acknowledged him as master, he placed a seal on it himself. He sealed away all of Dark Encounter’s power. He’d use it like a very tough piece of iron.

That was enough for Lin Luo.

He saw Yi Kexin a little stunned by the sword, yet he had no intention of letting her off.

How should he teach her a lesson?
