Chapter 17: The Nimble Lin Luo
update icon Updated at 2025/12/16 18:00:01

"Feier!" Lin Yuxun had just drawn her exquisite rapier when two Goblins trapped her front and back, leaving her unable to move an inch. Feier's scream made her heart ache with helplessness.

In that instant, Yuxun truly felt her powerlessness—the fragility of humanity. No, it was the helplessness of them, Earth’s so-called elite high schoolers, like lambs led to slaughter in this world. Lambs might have dignity, honor, even the will to fight back. But it was all useless.

Whoosh! A blurry figure flashed past Yuxun.

In a blink, it stood before the Goblin desperately tearing at Feier’s robe.

"Lin—"

Lin Luo skidded to a halt, pivoted on one foot, and unleashed a brutal roundhouse kick!

Thud!

The Goblin flew backward.

Riiip—

Its hand still clutched Han Lianfei’s robe. A flash of white appeared below as a large chunk tore away.

The Goblin tumbled nearly two meters, rolling on the ground.

"Lin Luo?" Han Lianfei stared in disbelief at the delicate, stunningly beautiful boy before her. He’d just kicked a Goblin flying?

He could kick a Leviathan hundreds of meters long. A mere Goblin meant nothing.

"Ugh... that sprint was too fast," Lin Luo reminded himself inwardly. "Remember—you’re just an ordinary boy now. Slightly quicker reflexes. Slightly sharper instincts. That’s all."

Tactics set, Lin Luo scanned the chaos. Almost simultaneously: Zhang Dajian was swarmed by three Goblins, already bleeding from knife wounds. But this tough guy had survived countless street fights—he wouldn’t die yet.

Li Ping lay unconscious, shoulder dislocated.

Zhang... name forgotten. That utterly forgettable boy was backed against a tree, facing two Goblins.

One Goblin distracted Lin Yuxun from the front. Another leaped behind her, aiming to tackle her down.

Ziwan trembled, loosing an arrow at a Goblin—but missed. The arrow dropped after two meters. Ten meters away, two more Goblins charged toward her, howling.

Decision made!

Whoosh!

Lin Luo snatched the staff from Feier’s hand and dashed toward Lin Yuxun, just meters away.

He leaped, stepping mid-air.

Thud! His foot slammed into the Goblin’s skull, knocking it down. Simultaneously, he thrust the staff past Yuxun’s shoulder.

Lin Luo moved at human speed, yet his actions were so fluid and decisive that Yuxun couldn’t react. She only felt the staff whoosh past her face.

Thud! The oak wand struck the second Goblin’s forehead, sending it sprawling.

Lin Luo landed, yanking Yuxun up. They spun close for a fleeting moment—Yuxun felt dizzy, sensing his breath on her skin—but it was just a repositioning. He eased his grip as he released her, letting her steady herself, then covered the distance to Ziwan in two strides.

"Step aside. I’ll handle this."

"Huh?"

Ziwan’s mind was blank, her resistance futile. At Lin Luo’s voice, she instinctively stepped back.

Lin Luo hurled the staff backward, crushing the untouched Goblin. He crouched, grabbed Li Ping’s sword, and faced the two charging Goblins—one wielding a small axe, the other a spear.

His movements were impossibly swift. Clang! Clang! He deflected both weapons, then slashed left and right.

Thud! Thud! Blood gushed as both monsters collapsed.

The spurting crimson made Ziwan sway dizzily.

"Aaargh!" Zhang Dajian was pinned under three Goblins. One swung an axe into his arm—he howled.

"Ziwan."

"Huh?"

Lin Luo spun the sword and threw it.

Thud! It pierced a Goblin.

He pulled Ziwan close, grabbing two arrows from her quiver. Her bow was clenched tight in fright. Afraid to hurt her, he gently turned her around. Pressing against her back, he guided her hands to draw the bow and nock the arrows.

Whoosh! Two arrows flew as one.

Thud! Thud!

The Goblins standing on Zhang Dajian, weapons raised to strike again, dropped simultaneously.

Zhang Dajian stared dumbfounded, blood soaking his clothes. Years of street fights screamed that he’d almost died. Slowly, he turned his head. Ten meters away, the breathtakingly beautiful boy stood behind Ziwan, longbow held high.

At that moment, Zhang Dajian’s mind shattered.
