Chapter 35: Sybil's Breakfast Showdown (

Watching Evelyn’s “kind” smile that felt like a spring breeze, and the playful glint in her crimson eyes, I trembled slightly. I nodded obediently and replied wearily:

“Alright…”

As the old saying goes: *Man is iron, rice is steel—a missed meal leaves you weak as a noodle.* My little Overlord belly was utterly empty. The discomfort was no joke.

The real-time combat stats hovering in the lower-right corner of my vision faithfully reflected my state:

【Real-Time Combat Data】

【HP: 300/300】

【MP: 1000/1000】

【Buffs: Basic Soul Guard (Slight mental fortification, immunity to malice from specific individuals. Source: Carol. Duration: 4 days)】

【Debuffs: Mild Hunger (Slight reduction in mobility)】

【Reputation (EXP): Lv.1 0/100】

“Good.”

Evelyn seemed to notice my condition. Smiling, she pulled a round, purple orb from her Spatial Gem. Strange energy threads writhed across its surface as she spoke:

“Don’t worry, Great Demon King Sibyl. You’ll only need to make a brief appearance—no speeches required. Just stay silent and stern. This will help you feel better.”

“Hmm… What is this?”

“A mana replenishment orb. Keep it under your tongue. It’ll keep you alert and prevent… unbecoming behavior later.” Evelyn explained patiently.

Staring at the energy-slicked orb in her hand, a sense of foreboding washed over me. I blurted out:

“Are you sure this isn’t a computer accessory?”

“Hm? What’s a ‘computer accessory,’ Your Majesty? Some kind of tool to boost mental focus, like this orb?” Evelyn tilted her head, puzzled.

I couldn’t find a single flaw in the silver-haired lady’s logic. Rubbing my temples, I sighed:

“Well… honestly, Sister Evelyn, your guess isn’t *wrong* from any angle…”

“Then please enjoy our Demon Kin specialty—‘computer accessory.’ Open wide~”

Evelyn crouched down, lifting my chin with one hand while pinching the purple orb between two fingers of the other. She moved to pop it into my mouth.

*Wait—why does this feel so lewd?! Is this straight out of an adult doujin?!*

Before I could finish my internal rant, Evelyn shoved the legendary comput—*ahem*—mana orb into my mouth. A bizarre flavor flooded my senses.

How to describe it? Imagine cola mixed with honey and lemon juice—sickly sweet, sour, and cloying all at once. I nearly gagged.

Gritting my teeth, I forced myself to keep it under my tongue as instructed.

Surprisingly, despite the awful taste, the effect was even stronger than Evelyn promised. Warm energy surged from the orb into my tongue, flooding my entire body. My mind snapped crystal clear. The hunger vanished. I felt hyper-alert, buzzing with unnatural energy—though a restless heat prickled under my skin. (Easily suppressed, thankfully.)

When I glanced back at the combat stats panel, I almost spat the orb out:

【Real-Time Combat Data】

【HP: 300/300】

【MP: 1000/1000】

【Buffs: Basic Soul Guard (Slight mental fortification, immunity to malice from specific individuals. Source: Carol. Duration: 4 days) | "Computer Accessory" Mana Orb (Significant mobility boost)】

【Debuffs: Mild Hunger (Slight reduction in mobility) | "Computer Accessory" Mana Orb (Slight increase in physical sensitivity)】

【Reputation (EXP): Lv.1 0/100】

*Seriously?! The system’s calling it a computer accessory too?!*

My eye twitched. So many things to rant about—I didn’t even know where to start.

But since this thing actually helped… I’d just have to endure it. For now.

Minutes later.

I’d mostly adjusted to my body’s new energy and the awkwardness of walking in low heels. Following Evelyn downstairs, we stopped before a grand door on the castle’s first floor.

Strangely, we hadn’t passed a single Demon Kin soldier or guard. The entire castle felt eerily empty.

When I asked, Evelyn brushed it off with: *“This castle needs no guards.”* I swallowed my questions.

Evelyn pushed the door open and bowed elegantly.

“Your supreme majesty, Great Demon King Sibyl—please enter.”

I nodded, striving for icy composure despite my trembling nerves, and stepped inside.

The moment I crossed the threshold, hundreds of fervent gazes from Mid Tier Demons locked onto me. Yet the hall was deathly silent—only the faint sound of their breathing filled the air.

I scanned the crowd. These Mid Tier Demons looked far less monstrous than the lowly grunts. Aside from a robed skeleton with eyes blazing blue flames and a “miniature” dragon barely the size of an elephant, most were humanoid. Some were even strikingly beautiful—like a cat-eared girl who caught my eye the moment I spotted her.

She had a delicate face, fluffy russet ears twitching atop her head, and a matching tail swaying behind her. Her harmless charm rivaled my own, making her stand out starkly among the horned, scaled, and tentacled Mid Tier Demons nearby.

*Wait—since when do catgirls exist among Mid Tier Demons?! Is this some kind of mistake?! That’s not very demonic at all!*

Biting back the urge to scream my confusion, I tore my gaze away from the catgirl. Chin high, I strode toward the hall’s center. Evelyn followed silently, a shadow at my back.
