Chapter 4: My Grand Debut as the Demon K
update icon Updated at 2025/12/10 17:30:53

After shouting the slogan, not a single Demon Kin present showed any sign of rising. All remained kneeling before me, their heads bowed in reverence.

The summoning site appeared to be a valley nestled among endless undulating mountains. Beyond the ritual altar and magic circle, the only things visible were the seemingly infinite sea of kneeling Demon Kin stretching before me.

I-it’s not like I couldn’t see further because of my height or anything!

I warily scanned the surrounding demon creatures. Aside from a rare few High Rank Demons, the rest were unsightly grunts whose appearances defied polite description. Some unidentifiable species were not only hideous but oozed yellow-green slime. Worst of all, their murky eyes burned with fanatical loyalty as they stared at me—leaving me torn between gratitude and nausea.

At that moment, the system interface abruptly materialized. Under my basic profile, the [Vassals] entry changed from [No Vassals] to [Vassals Acquired: Low-Rank Demon Grunts xN].

Are you kidding me? Who’d want the allegiance of these cannon fodder monsters—the kind Valiant Heroines grind for XP in any standard game?!

If anyone deserved to pledge loyalty, it should’ve been those three High Rank Demons whose looks actually met public standards.

They were: the purple-haired young man who’d caught my attention earlier; a tall, silver-haired beauty with blood-red eyes, dressed provocatively under a black parasol; and a black-haired, bespectacled maiden with sharp ears and a horn nearly identical to mine, radiating scholarly grace.

Wait—if those three High Rank Demons performed the same ritual and shouted the same oath, why weren’t they listed as my vassals?

Could it be… their pledge was just for show?

*Hmph!* My inner detective spotted the plot twist!

I instantly grew wary—but honestly, not surprised.

After all, as a pink-haired loli Overlord who looked harmless but could barely cast a Minor Fireball, I wasn’t exactly inspiring instant loyalty.

Cuteness alone wouldn’t conquer these demons.

Time to unleash my Overlord aura! I’d make them submit through sheer intimidation!

Strangely, ever since becoming this unreliable pink-haired loli Overlord, my thought patterns had shifted slightly—though I hadn’t noticed it myself.

"*Ahem!*"

Clearing my throat, I suppressed my nervousness, planted my hands on my hips, and declared in my squeaky voice:

"R-rise! All of you!"

Only then did I realize I wasn’t speaking my native tongue. The Demon Kin’s chants, my own words—they flowed in a strange language resembling Greek. Yet somehow, I understood and spoke it fluently.

*Sure. Why not?* Just as surreal as that tentacle monster nearby, spraying suspicious white fluid in excitement over my arrival.

Thankfully, it was far enough away. If that goo touched me, bystanders would assume a lewd manga scene—and no amount of explanation would clear my name.

At my command, the Demon Kin rose in perfect unison. They remained utterly silent, their gazes fixed on me. The stillness was deafening.

I’d never faced such a crowd. Frozen in place, I scrambled for words until remembering my unfinished introduction. Taking a breath, I forced a regal tone—reciting the title from my [Basic Info] panel in my embarrassingly sweet voice:

"I am Sibyl Daliana, the Overlord summoned by your rites. I am nine years old this year. Though I am but LV1 now, I shall surely become… become…"

*What am I even saying?!*

My cheeks burned with shame. My soft, melodic voice echoed around the valley, but the lowly grunts didn’t care. Their fanatical stares remained locked on me—as if my mere presence was the ultimate morale buff.

The three High Rank Demons reacted differently. After my introduction, their expressions shifted dramatically.

Especially the purple-haired one. Unlike the two beauties’ shock, his face lit up with undisguised delight.

*Why?*

I had no time to ponder—I’d only halfway through my speech.

"As your Overlord, I shall lead you… my loyal warriors… to crush the invading human armies and spread the darkness of order across this continent—"

"*LONG LIVE THE GREAT DEMON KING! HURRAH!!!*"

I struggled to continue my lines, but the crowd’s frenzied cheers drowned me out.

The previously silent demons had flipped a switch. Now they danced wildly—a chaotic, pulsing mass.

*Damn it!* What even *were* these creatures?! Could I really lead this unreliable army against human forces?

My eye twitched in exasperation.

"Great Demon King, please follow me."

A gentle female voice cut through my despair.

I turned to see the horned, bespectacled black-haired maiden—now standing beside me. Her smile was warm as a spring breeze.

"You are…?" I asked softly, my voice laced with confusion.

"Your Eminence, Great Demon King Sibyl. I am Carol Fonna, High Priestess of the Demon Kin. With your permission, allow me to escort you to our council hall."

Carol’s slow, soothing voice contrasted sharply with the grunts’ shrieking frenzy. My anxiety eased instantly.

I desperately wanted to escape these dancing fools—but to preserve my dignity as Overlord, I feigned thoughtful deliberation before replying:

"W-well then. An excellent suggestion. Lead the way, High Priestess."

Carol nodded, smiling. Then, unexpectedly, she added:

"Please forgive my boldness, Great Demon King."

Before I could react, she stepped forward and swept me into her arms—princess-style.

By the time I processed it, my small loli body was lifted off the ground, pressed against Carol’s chest.

Her scent was delicate—utterly unlike the stench-choked air I’d breathed moments ago.

Her bosom was perfectly sized. My head nestled against it like a soft cotton pillow. For a fleeting second, I wanted to forget everything and melt into this demon priestess’s embrace.

But I remembered my duty. Flustered, I protested:

"W-wah! Carol! What are you doing?!"

"Reporting to the Great Demon King: I shall carry you to the council hall," she replied calmly, her voice still gentle.

"I can walk just fine! Put me down, Carol!"

She didn’t loosen her hold. Instead, she murmured warmly:

"Great Demon King, the council hall lies over ten kilometers away. Are you certain you wish to walk?"

"*Ten—what?!*"

"And furthermore," Carol continued in a whisper only I could hear, cutting off my shock, "as the Overlord… as LV1 Sibyl… you’re quite weak, aren’t you? Ah la la… no need to look so frightened. Rest assured—I’ll protect you. The other two High Rank Demons won’t lay a finger on you. Just follow my lead."
