11. The Blinding Exclamation Point

“Han Huming!”

Both of them turned their heads and saw a girl storming toward them.

Hu Ming recognized her at a glance. A flicker of impatience flashed in his eyes.

Li Yue, standing beside Hu Ming, recognized her too.

She quietly took a step behind him, looking like she didn’t want to face that person.

The girl stopped in front of Hu Ming and fired off a question before he could speak.

“Han Huming, did you delete Su Liu’s contact?”

At that familiar name, Li Yue’s face, half-hidden under dark hair, grew more insecure.

Everyone at school knew Hu Ming had chased Su Liu for over half a year. He kept spending money just to win a single smile.

As the school belle, she had plenty of suitors besides Hu Ming.

She never said she liked anyone, but she was nice to many.

No one could guess what she really thought.

The girl in front of Hu Ming was Su Liu’s bestie, Yin Xiaoxiao.

The original Hu Ming had simped after the school belle for months. She kept him dangling, her attitude vague, stringing him along.

Bewitched by her, he was willing to do things no one could understand.

If you had to point fingers, Su Liu played a big part in his final downfall.

After Hu Ming ended up here, he did chat with Su Liu.

From their talks, he saw it clearly. The girl was bright, with sky‑high EQ. She loved living in a halo of adoration, and her PUA tactics on suitors were razor sharp.

She was indeed outstanding, but she used those strengths on the original Hu Ming.

She made him devote himself to her. He found it nauseating.

Past Yin Xiaoxiao, around a corner, Hu Ming caught sight of the girl the original had chased so long.

Tall figure. Sleek hair falling straight. Curves in all the right places. Skin white as snow. Light makeup. Willow brows, eyes lively with charm. Features finely cut. And that cherry mouth, ridiculously glossy.

With a girl like that, no wonder the original threw himself at her.

Hu Ming quietly pulled his gaze back. He looked at Yin Xiaoxiao and spoke calmly.

“Deleted. So what?”

That single line made Yin Xiaoxiao explode.

Hu Ming used to be overly respectful to her, just to get news about Su Liu.

How did he suddenly flip like this? He deleted her contact, and Su Liu’s too.

Back then, to get that contact, Hu Ming gave her plenty of perks. He even bought her lots of cosmetics.

Li Yue, standing behind Hu Ming, froze for a moment and stared at him in shock.

Everyone knew how much he praised Su Liu in front of her. Everyone knew how much he liked Su Liu.

Yet now he said he’d deleted Su Liu.

“Deleted? Who told you to delete Su Liu’s contact? Don’t you know how sad Su Liu is over this?”

Yin Xiaoxiao had more to say, but she remembered what Su Liu had told her. Her expression turned suddenly haughty.

“Han Huming, Su Liu knows you’re not the Khan Family’s young master. She didn’t look down on you for that. Think about it—where do you find a girl this good? Are you just giving up?”

“She’s not my girlfriend. Why should I care?”

His blunt words left Yin Xiaoxiao at a loss.

She suddenly realized the old sucker had changed.

The fawning boy now stood calmly before her, with no hint of trying to please.

For a moment, anger boiled over.

She pointed at Hu Ming and cursed.

“Han Huming, you’ll regret this! Plenty of people chase our Su Liu. She doesn’t need you!”

“How come, from your mouth, Su Liu sounds like a prostitute waiting for a line?”

“You—!”

Yin Xiaoxiao nearly fainted from anger. She ground her teeth, but couldn’t find a retort.

“Han Huming, don’t you regret this!”

“Done? Then get lost.” A faint smile tugged at Hu Ming’s lips, heavy with mockery.

Yin Xiaoxiao could only storm off.

The pavilion held just Hu Ming and Li Yue again.

Li Yue reached out and tugged his sleeve, asking timidly.

“Hu Ming, did you really delete Su Liu?”

“Yeah. What’s the big deal? It’s just a contact.”

It seemed everyone thought he’d never do something like that. Otherwise Li Yue wouldn’t react this way.

“But didn’t you chase Su Liu for a long time? If you do this, she’ll be really mad.”

Worry showed on Li Yue’s face, but soon she felt a quiet relief inside.

After all, she didn’t want to see Hu Ming with Su Liu.

“Let her be mad. What’s it to me? Plenty of people don’t like me. One more won’t matter.”

So open‑handed. Li Yue stared at him, stunned, with no words to say.

……

Su Liu sat quietly at her desk. Many delicate little gifts lay on the surface, each looking thoughtful.

But she wasn’t in the mood.

She stared out the window, mind full of Hu Ming.

After hearing his reason from her bestie, she was stunned.

She knew the old Hu Ming too well.

No matter how you treated him, as long as you kept the distance just right and offered a bit of tenderness, he’d keep hoping and devote himself to you.

That’s a simp.

But after their last chat, she never received another message from him.

At first, she found it strange.

Then she heard he wasn’t the Khan Family’s young master. Her interest dropped fast.

Yet after a stretch without seeing him, she started craving his gentleness again.

No one else could do that.

So she secretly posted to her feed: “Your gentleness.”

The picture was a hand cupping the moon.

Soon, comments poured in with concern and greetings. But not from Hu Ming.

Was Hu Ming ashamed because of his new identity? Or had she withheld hope so long that he saw her as unreachable and gave up?

Either way, she didn’t want him to quit.

Some simps give up after a few days. Some only talk and sell fantasies. A simp like Hu Ming is the real premium kind.

For more than half a year, day after day. Never wavered. Stubbornly gave without asking for return.

Where do you find a sucker like that?

So she took the initiative to message Hu Ming.

But what shocked her most—

She got back a harsh, glaring exclamation mark.
