45~ The Realm of the Divine Scion

"Phew, I thought Princess Felicia was about to suffer a humiliating defeat," John wiped his brow. "No wonder the Zosha family's Divine Maiden Realm is so legendary—its physical resistance is truly unmatched."

"...........Can't you see it?" Dilin asked after hearing John.

"Huh? See what? What are you talking about?"

"Nothing." Dilin shook his head, clutching the Golden Chalice Butterfly in his arms.

Perhaps only he and Felicia on the field knew this had nothing to do with physical resistance.

As a Divine Maiden, Brin surely knew the Zosha family's Divine Maiden Realm specialized in physical defense. Yet he still chose a physical attack, confident in his own realm. He believed his fivefold backstab could seal victory—or at least cause real trouble.

To his shock, Felicia emerged unscathed, not even stumbling. His sword strike was like a bamboo skewer hitting solid rock—utterly futile.

The other spectators didn't grasp this. They assumed Felicia's physical resistance blocked Brin's backstab. In truth, it was a realm-derived effect that saved her.

Honestly, Brin wasn't weak—he had strategy and strength. He just faced someone practically cheating.

So when Dilin heard whispers calling Brin an idiot for trying to break Baili armor with physical attacks, he merely smiled. Swap those armchair critics in, and Brin might backstab them before they blinked.

Dilin finally understood why an elite Divine Child mattered. Not all could discern Felicia's Divine Maiden Realm; most were clueless greenhorns. Only Dilin and Felicia knew the truth.

"As expected—a match with zero suspense."

"If it's so predictable, why drag me here?" Dilin shot John a glance.

"Tsk tsk, you think I brought you for the fights? Who actually watches matches seriously?" John sneered. "I bet eighty percent here didn't come for the bouts. What they came for... well, I won't spell it out. Everyone knows."

He glanced at the stunning figure on the field.

True, fighting in that outfit lacked competitive flair but offered plenty of eye candy. No doubt the crowd had feasted their eyes.

Just as John predicted, after the silver-armored knight princess bowed to her defeated foe and exited, the stands emptied fast.

Pretty girls always draw the most attention. Everyone came for idols. Once the idol leaves, the show's over—why stay?

"Time to go." John yawned, standing up, then froze. Dilin hadn't moved. "Weren't you just begging to leave? Why stay now the main event's done?"

"We're already here." Dilin tugged John's sleeve, sitting firm. "Might as well keep watching."

"Hooked already? Warning: no goddess Divine Maidens next. Just muscle-bound guys brawling."

"Fine." Dilin, thrilled by the legendary Divine Analysis's power, wanted to test it further.

"Ugh, watching men fight is boring. Women fights are fun!" John pouted. "Let's go—your Astrid's match is this afternoon... Ow!"

Pinched on the waist for his cheek, John slumped back, clutching his side with a grumble.

"Why pinch like a girl?"

"Shut up." Dilin didn't look at him.

Unlike the first match's one-sided crush, the next bouts were evenly matched. Felicia and Astrid were exceptions; most new Divine Maidens were peers.

Thanks to good matchmaking, only Brin got truly wrecked.

He had skill, yet lost so badly he'd struggle to find a team later.

Morning matches over, Dilin and John headed to the cafeteria.

"Afternoon's second match is Astrid's. Tsk, Felicia and Astrid on the same day—I guarantee Felicia will spectate."

"Why?" Dilin, lost in Divine Maiden Realm theories, barely registered it.

"Seriously? Felicia's chasing Astrid! Wrote her love letters—it's academy gossip!"

"Hmm." Dilin nodded, musing. "Divine Maiden Realms usually have extra effects beyond basic resistances."

"What realm? What are you babbling about? Are we even on the same topic?"

"Huh? ..........What did you say?" Dilin looked up.

"..........Do you really not care? Are you okay with this?" John sighed. "You almost won that Moon Elf princess's heart by fate. Elves pledge for life—no turning back."

"So? Should I wail in despair to seem normal?"

"Uh... guess not. It wouldn't help anyway."

"Thanks for caring more than I do." Dilin rolled his eyes. "Let's just pick lunch."

"You............ Sigh. Seeing you've moved on, I'm relieved." John exhaled.

"Idiot," Dilin muttered. "Always doing pointless things."

"Tsk, all unknown names except Astrid."

"You still watching afternoon matches?"

"Of course! It'll be packed—Felicia and Astrid, the academy stars, drawing crowds like sardines."

"Go ahead. I'm skipping."

"Huh? ........ Tch, boring." John flipped the schedule. "More guys........... Wait."

"Third match: Aerin vs. Tilisha? Oh! Women fighting!" John perked right up.

"Tilisha? Sounds unfamiliar. Must be a goddess Divine Maiden. Hope she's pretty.........." John grinned like he'd struck gold.

Dilin stayed silent beside him.
