The commotion lasted until dawn broke.

After checking Little White’s wound, Lenna prepared to leave.

“No medicine needed. Just eat and sleep on time—that’s better than any cure… Hmm. Same for you.”

“Idol schedules barely leave time to eat. A hot meal’s a luxury,” Angela grumbled, yet a sweet, shy smile bloomed on her face.

“Thanks. Once Little White fully recovers, I’ll make you its godfather. When it grows up, it can carry us flying everywhere.”

Lenna almost asked why not godmother, but Angela pushed her out of the dorm, a trace of reluctance in her eyes. “So much happened today…”

“Huh? What happened? I don’t remember a thing,” Lenna teased knowingly.

“No backing out this time,” Angela pouted like a flustered teen, shoving a handful of tickets into Lenna’s pocket. “My big concert next week—you must come. Bring Lingling. She’s my best friend; I promised her.” She turned away, avoiding Lenna’s gaze as if shy.

“Why so sentimental? We see each other daily.”

Lenna joked but pocketed the tickets, noting the show date. She’d go if free—just to keep the kid company. Besides, she hated seeing Angela’s defeated face; bullying her felt pointless now… Lenna craved Angela’s genuine smile. That radiant, youthful glow from the Empire’s top idol could melt anyone’s heart.

“Eat even when busy. Skinny arms are no fun to hug.”

“Who wants your hugs? I’d hug you first!” Angela puffed her flat chest, but her magically swollen belly—round and warm like a watermelon—jutted out, both lewd and adorable.

Lenna reached over, patting it. Heat radiated from the taut skin, a faint gurgle echoing inside.

“Say that again while touching your ‘baby’?”

“This is your fault! What if I stay like this forever?” Angela swatted at her. She aimed to be the world’s greatest idol—performing pregnant? Ridiculous! Idols thrived on youth. Even if she clarified it wasn’t real pregnancy, public backlash alone would drown her. Not to mention deranged fans storming the gates…

Lenna stayed calm, soothing her: “The magic will digest in a day. My purest essence won’t harm you—it’ll boost your strength and beauty…”

“And third?” Angela asked absently.

“Third…” Lenna whispered in her ear, “you’ll get used to my warmth. Saves pain before we make love. Remember my shape~?”

“Pervert!”

“Soften your voice. Tilt your chin down at forty-five degrees. Scowl like you’re staring at sewer rats. Then I’ll pin you down… Mmm…”

“Disgusting! Pervert! Wolf!” Angela recoiled, shivering dramatically with arms crossed.

Lenna dropped the act, smiling warmly.

“I’m leaving. No need to see me off.”

“W-who’d see you off?” Angela flushed. “But if you insist on walking to the gate… I guess I could.”

“…”

Lenna watched her silently.

This kind-hearted nun poured all her goodwill into helping a stranger. Her courage never wavered—even reborn Lenna couldn’t deny it, or the pull she felt. Maybe Angela reminded her of Lingling from her past life. Or perhaps she could change: shift her values, dull her thirst for revenge.

As Angela said, she didn’t hate her. She hated her past self—weak, powerless to save her family. She’d raged at the Empire’s corruption, then lashed out at Angela, seeking comfort by hurting her old enemy.

Yet torturing Angela brought no vengeance. Instead, Angela’s pure heart saved her…

Lenna might give Angela this chance.

Forget past grudges. Forget Angela of the Hero Squad, who once hunted her to the ends of the earth. Enemies then, now meeting in this messy, almost mutual ruin—wasn’t that fate?

“No reply, and I’m heading back. Seize the moment, Miss Devil.”

Angela issued her ultimatum but glanced back repeatedly, brows furrowed, practically screaming “Ask me out—I’m easy!”

Lenna smirked. “A celebrity and a criminal side by side… won’t that look odd?”

“Only idiots think that! Only the dumbest, sneakiest goblins or two-headed ogres arguing with themselves!” Angela lifted her chin proudly. Her slender fingers twirled pink hair. A plain nightgown glowed on her stunning frame, revealing milky shoulders and slender calves. Inside cartoon slippers, her ten toes gripped the fabric nervously.

Outwardly calm, inwardly panicking.

Lenna’s answer meant everything.

Like exhausted lovers confessing under a sunset’s blessing, Angela’s heart pounded like a startled deer, awaiting judgment…

Lenna spoke bluntly: “Stunning. No wonder you’re a top-ranked idol on the Empire’s Beauty List.”

“Tch~ You haven’t seen my best yet~” Angela muttered, cheeks flushed. “But… barely passed. I don’t expect pretty words from you… Just… come. Promise you’ll come!” She repeated it endlessly. No excuses. No lies. No more tricks.

Lenna crooked her arm. Angela slipped her hand through, linking arms. “I’ll be there. I look forward to the dazzling you on stage…”

The you who sings and dances, basking in your fans’ cheers… It’ll be fascinating.

Lenna hid that dark thought.

“Ugh, why not say that sooner?”

Angela glanced at the sunrise—punctual, always ahead, lighting her path.

Beneath that profound glow, darkness had nowhere to hide.

Even with a great villain entwined in death’s fate walking beside her, that fierce, holy light could pierce her icy walls, thawing her frozen heart.

Then pulse!

Burn!

Boil!

Angela believed she could do it.
