Chapter 1: At Last, You Come

"Chief, aren't you freezing at all?"

"Not cold." Yixinxue replied instantly, without a hint of hesitation. Such a frosty response made Yanxi, walking beside her, force a bitter smile.

Seriously—it was October, barely ten degrees Celsius, yet Yixinxue still wore her summer uniform: a crisp white short-sleeve top and a red-and-white plaid mini-skirt. Tall for a girl, her skirt barely grazed her knees. The school's signature white stockings hugged her shapely curves perfectly. With each step, tantalizing glimpses flickered in and out of view—enough to make any pubescent boy's heart race.

Dressed like that and feeling no chill? Unbelievable. Yanxi, also in a mini-skirt, was already shivering uncontrollably.

Yixinxue casually glanced down the corridor. "You all head to Zone B," she said lightly. "I'll take Zone A alone."

"Yes, Chief."

No objections. No one dared. To the whole school, Yixinxue was the flawless, invincible Ice Queen.

The back door of Class 1, Zone A, stood open, revealing the entire classroom—including Lingyuan, fast asleep with his head on the desk.

*Sigh...* Yixinxue let out a soft sigh. Silent as a cat, she crept behind him. Words to wake him died on her lips.

*Damn it!* Lanfeng, the boy seated before Lingyuan, cursed inwardly. *I set up the perfect raid team, and my teammates bailed? Infuriating!* In seconds, he’d mentally cursed his four teammates’ ancestors to the nth generation.

From the corner of his eye, a fair hand swooped in. Before he could react, it snatched his phone.

"Phones are banned during school hours," a voice cut in. "Gaming during evening study? A serious rule violation. I’ll report this to the homeroom teacher."

That voice—only one person...

"Ahaha, Class Rep," Lanfeng whined, putting on a pitiful act. "Can’t you pretend you didn’t see...?"

"No." Yixinxue’s reply was icy. She stared at him like he was trash.

"Is study over yet!?" Lingyuan jerked upright. Pure white hair filled his vision.

*Damn.*

No guessing who stood there—the school’s only white-haired girl. His hopeful grin froze. His gaze trailed up the silken strands but locked onto the phone clutched in her pale hands.

*Wait... didn’t I lend this to Lanfeng?*

Before evening study, his buddy’s phone died. He’d lent his for gaming... How could a quick nap flip the world upside down?

The air turned Arctic in an instant. Her fiery crimson eyes glared down with utter contempt. Lingyuan sat rigid, a stiff smile glued to his face.

"This anime-style phone case," Yixinxue teased, waving it before him. "I’d say it’s yours, right?"

Groggy and dumbfounded, Lingyuan could only stare at the "evidence," his brain still booting up.

Yixinxue was class president, head of the Discipline Department, and one of Hengjiang High’s top beauties. Her milk-white hair and anime-esque crimson eyes made her unforgettable. Aloof and untouchable, she’d transferred from Slovia International School last semester. Since then, she’d dominated every subject—ranked number one school-wide. To most boys, she was a goddess beyond reach.

Right now, crossing her was suicide. Why? Blame the monthly exams days ago. For the first time, Yixinxue had been dethroned—by a staggering seventy points. Lately, any slight against her will made fierce flames crackle around her. Those crimson eyes radiated zero warmth—only a chilling intensity that prickled your scalp.

"I’ll hold this until after school," she said. "Want it back? Come to the Discipline Department."

"Oh."

She left. Minutes later, Lingyuan slumped back onto his desk.

"Bro Ling, your phone?" Lanfeng scratched his head, looking lost. He’d been Lingyuan’s buddy since middle school. Lingyuan was used to being thrown under the bus. Last time he felt this speechless? Well, last time.

"No worries. Fine."

*My sister will see that phone. With her personality, swapping it back’ll be easy.* If his sister had been on Zone A duty today, none of this would’ve happened.

*She’s called my sister, but we’re not blood-related. After Mom passed, she came from Stepmom’s side.*

*Hmm... Stepmom’s a mega-successful entrepreneur. So my sister’s drowning in pocket money—a legit little heiress.*

*Hmm... my sister...*

Lingyuan’s heart churned. Her personality was... weird. Seriously weird.

Rain drizzled from the sky, trickling down roof gutters. Streetlights made the wet pavement glisten. The Discipline Department shared an office classroom in the admin building with other student council teams. At 9:30 PM, dismissal time, only Yixinxue remained—sweeping the empty floor alone.

Lingyuan’s earlier nonchalance vanished. Real fear clawed at him.

*Damn! My sister’s not here!? Only the Class Rep!? She’s been terrifying lately!*

As the class dunce, he’d never feared her days ago. Not one bit. But yesterday—when he skipped homework as usual—she’d actually snapped. For the first time.

*"Want your phone back? Come to the Discipline Department after school."*

Her words echoed. The entire building held just them two.

*Is she... about to blow up again...?*

*Screw the phone.*

Mechanically, he turned to flee this nightmare.

"Oh, you’re here," Yixinxue called, her voice cutting through the silence. "Don’t run off—don’t you want your phone back?"
