"Holy shit..."
Mu Yi’s lips twitched as he stared at the confetti-like scraps raining from the sky.
Damn it all—why was filling out a simple registration form so damn difficult? Was this never going to end? Were they deliberately picking on him alone?
That manuscript had been painstakingly crafted after hours of deep thought. It hadn’t even had time to settle in his hands before they shredded it again?
"Mr. Mu Yi... I-I’m so sorry... truly..."
Yuseni’s face paled as she watched the snowflake-shaped scraps flutter to the ground. Each one felt like a stab to her heart.
*It’s ruined again... If only I’d held the documents tighter...*
"The one who should apologize isn’t you," Mu Yi said, forcing down the fury bubbling in his chest with a deep breath. "It’s those two intruders and the man lying on the floor."
He reached out, gently ruffling Yuseni’s hair with a warm smile—but inside, his heart bled.
*Damn it. I just finished rewriting those documents. Now I’ll have to draft a third set... What did I do to deserve this?*
"You’re too kind... This is entirely my fault for not holding on tight enough..."
Warmth spread across Yuseni’s sun-kissed cheeks, blooming into two perfect crimson stains.
*Mr. Mu Yi is so gentle. Powerful yet courteous, kind yet handsome—a flawless man you’d never even dream of meeting. That I’d find him in this real world... it must be a blessing from the gods.*
"Master, those two are strong."
Aiva’s gaze locked onto the two hooded women in white robes standing at the entrance. Though they’d masked their presence, her True Sight—capable of dissecting all data—laid them bare as if stripped naked.
These women were the strongest humans she and her master had encountered since arriving in this world. Especially the girl standing behind—the energy coiled within her dwarfed even the swordswoman who’d unleashed that blade aura. Their power existed on a plane far beyond the ordinary adventurers here.
*Are they adventurers too? Or something else? Why did they suddenly appear? And who is that groaning man on the floor? Why did they attack him?*
"Hmm. Exceptionally strong. Especially the younger one in back," Mu Yi murmured, following Aiva’s line of sight. *Damn. Either one of them could level the City of Loran single-handedly.*
"Fascinating," he mused, stroking his chin. *Was that blade aura earlier from the swordswoman up front? To unleash such power with a rusty piece of scrap metal... her swordsmanship isn’t half bad.*
"Ow! I was wrong! Please, ladies, have mercy! Stop! Just stop!" The man on the floor clutched his stomach, snot and tears streaming down his face. "I didn’t even take your coin purses! You’ve beaten me bloody already—just let me go since I’ve apologized!"
*Thank heavens they held back,* he thought desperately. *Otherwise, I’d be minced meat by now. What kind of monsters did I stumble upon today?*
"If you’d only stolen coin purses, I might have let it slide," the hooded swordswoman snapped, her emerald eyes burning into his weaselly face. Her iron blade glinted coldly in the sunlight. "But trying to snatch that little girl? You’re nothing but society’s scum."
"Big sister! I swear I’ll never—!"
A gust of wind cut him off. Before he could turn, a brutal force slammed into the back of his skull. His head crashed into the floor with a sickening thud. He crumpled instantly, unconscious.
"You’re in the way."
Lolis didn’t spare the kneeling man a glance. She’d just finished registering as an adventurer. With a casual flick of her leg, she kicked him aside like a football into a corner. Unfazed by the two white-robed women, she strode toward the exit. Passing them, she paused for a fraction of a second—then let out a cold chuckle before vanishing into the street crowd.
Silence.
Thick, suffocating silence swallowed the adventurer’s hall. Everyone huddled in corners, breaths held, eyes darting between Lolis’s retreating figure and the two newcomers.
*First a youth who casually shattered a Tier-Two spell. Then that ice-queen goddess. Now these two ghostly-strong women... What kind of day is this? Why are all these monsters gathering here?*
"My deepest apologies for the disturbance," a voice like wind chimes rang out. The girl in back bowed slightly. "We only meant to punish that child-snatcher. But my companion... overdid it. She broke the guild’s door and startled everyone. Allow me to make amends."
Her slender fingers danced in the air. Emerald energy rippled outward from her fingertips.
『Restoration』
A glowing green sigil flared beneath her feet. The shattered door reassembled itself before their eyes—and simultaneously, Mu Yi’s shredded documents reformed on the floor, pristine.
"Huh?" Mu Yi blinked. *Magic can do that?*
*These two... Their strength must’ve reached the Heroic Realm.*
