Chapter 13: A Duel’s Pact
update icon Updated at 2025/12/12 2:30:02

After roughhousing with Natasha for a bit, Olivia finally managed to get her to stop teasing her—only because Olivia bared her teeth at her bestie in a cutesy “I’ll kill you” kind of way. Natasha got tickled silly, giggling non-stop, and at last stopped making fun of her.

Even so, that laughter was still… ugh. Olivia just felt unbearably embarrassed. She seriously couldn’t understand.

To her, what Natasha had said felt just like this: that super-pretty fujoshi deskmate in your class leans over to you one day, all hyped up. You’re actually kind of happy at first. But then she insists on showing you the genderbent BL stories she wrote about you and the school heartthrob, and your whole soul just recoils.

Especially when… in that genderbend story, you’re the one who gets genderbent. She keeps reading aloud until your face burns, then covers her mouth and snickers, teasing you about your reactions. You get mad and lash out, but that only makes you look more guilty…

That was exactly how Olivia felt right now: weak, pitiful, and helpless.

Damn it, why am I always so bad at handling this kind of topic?

Probably… because I still haven’t really gotten used to dealing with girls, huh? Ha… haha… I’m pure like some clueless virgin boy, how ridiculous…

[Isn’t it just because turning into a girl made your heart start fluttering?]

[Correct. Got called out, now she’s mad from embarrassment.]

[Whatever, but streamer baring her teeth is way too cute~]

[Lies don’t cut you. The truth is the sharp blade!]

[Fastest fall-to-female-record in history.]

[She’s losing it—]

Hey… no!!!

Seeing the barrage suddenly explode across the stream, Olivia’s mouth twitched. What… what are you people even saying? Aren’t you hearing my inner thoughts? I’m a straight guy, okay!

Mm… although she’d turned into a girl now and, yeah, like chat said, she wasn’t really used to it yet. If not for the original body’s life experience and partial memories, this girl would’ve been squirming out of her skin and clawing at her own neck by now.

But still… actually getting used to it, that’d be the real fall to the female side, right? She wasn’t going to fall. Mm… absolutely not.

As for dating? Uh… no way she was dating a guy. Dating a girl… uh… that sounded kind of unrealistic too. So, conclusion: single!

Right, career first. She knew this game world like the back of her hand, and she had a system on top of that. Her future was limitless. How could she waste all that precious time on romance? Foolish!

That’s right. I, Olivia, am going to be the unbeatable overpowered female lead!

Just as she finished that ambitious declaration, a mechanical chime sounded at the perfect timing.

[System: Ding-dong. Congratulations, host, you have completed the newbie quest. Reward received: Newbie Gift Pack x1. It has been placed in the system inventory. Would the host like to open it now?]

Oh?

Olivia stared at the system prompt floating through the stream for a moment, thought it over, then nodded slightly. Might as well use what you’re given. She silently muttered, “Open!”

[System: Newbie Gift Pack opened. Rewards: 5000 Love Points, one Automated Farming System, one black-and-white maid outfit, one pair of white lace panties, one pair of hollow-pattern black stockings.]

The hell is this crap? Hey, hey, hey? Isn’t this newbie pack a little too scuffed? Where’s my dragon-slaying sword? Where’s my world-ending artifact?

What are these even for? What use is an Automated Farming System supposed to have! Where’s my combat power? And what’s with those last three items! So the skimpier I dress, the stronger I get, is that it?

[Hello?? Full-auto farming, obviously! Isn’t that better than combat power?]

[True. Even if you isekai, you gotta fully unleash that racial talent!]

[That burning passion for farming engraved in your genes, and senpai loli doesn’t have it? I’m checking your academic credentials.]

[Aren’t we checking your family registry? Verdict: undercover sakura-land agent.]

[Check mine instead~]

[Can we get senpai loli to come be my maid? I really wanna see her in that maid outfit, then give her some serious maid discipline~]

B-busted beyond belief…

The Bluehaired Loli stared at the barrage in silence for a long while. Help… what kind of brain-rotting comments were these?!

Crap…

Fine, she had to admit, as outrageous as chat was, they did give her a bit of inspiration. That Automated Farming System sounded pretty useful for, well, actual farming. It might be a decent starting point.

Olivia didn’t have to burn brain cells over it just yet. According to the prompt, all the system’s items were stored in a virtual inventory first. She could take them out whenever she needed. So the farming system and the maid outfit could just sit there for now.

As for how to make good use of them… mm… she still had to think about that.

Maybe she stayed quiet a bit too long. Without even noticing, the two of them had already reached the school gate. Snapped back to reality, the Bluehaired Loli stared blankly at the sunset in the distance, then at the groups of students streaming out of the gate. She blinked. “Eh? This is… the end of the day?”

“Hm? It was already over when I went to find An-chan just now~ What’s up? You seem kind of out of it today…” The blonde gyaru leaned in curiously, tilting her head. Olivia hurriedly waved her hands and coughed twice. “N-no, it’s nothing. So… see you?”

“Mm~ An-chan, see you tomorrow then~ Be careful on your way home, okay? Bye-bye~”

Inside the school auditorium, as the crowd slowly thinned out, Caius never would’ve thought that the tense, explosive atmosphere would turn into this awkward mess, all thanks to Olivia suddenly barging in.

Only Gawain, Caius, the three heroines, and the one teacher Caius had dragged in as backup were left. The middle‑aged teacher, smooth and experienced, could tell things might go bad if this kept going. He quickly stepped in to smooth things over, saying, “Today was just a misunderstanding. You kids should head out now, school’s over.”

Gawain let out a sigh. He was about to just leave, but when he turned his head and saw his childhood friend lying on the ground in such a miserable state, the boy hesitated, then walked over and held out his hand.

“Mermel… are you okay?”

“Tch. Trash. Don’t touch me!”

Mermel slapped his hand away, then pushed herself up. She glared at Gawain, teeth clenched, and yelled in bitter anger:

“Quit pretending to be some nice guy. Don’t think I don’t know—Olivia was totally acting under your orders to humiliate me, right?”

“That’s not it, Senpai, she—”

“Enough, stop pretending! Trying to drive a wedge between our loving relationship, is that it? Too bad for you, Mermel is my girlfriend!”

Before Gawain could finish, the blond guy rushed up, grabbed Mermel to support her, then suddenly widened his bloodshot eyes and leaned right into Gawain’s face, smiling coldly.

“Gawain, don’t get cocky. You got lucky this time. But… you haven’t forgotten, have you? Two months from now, we still have that duel. The loser’s the one who gets kicked out of school.”

“I remember…” Gawain’s expression sank back to sub-zero. He clenched his fists, his face going grim. “I won’t lose…”

“Heh. We’ll see about that.”
