7. The Departure

After he left that zone swamped in pink mist, Lyn’s Lust Dominion finally stopped ticking up.

He let out a breath. Those constant +1 pop-ups felt pretty great, sure. But he’d almost emptied out his entire stash of Dominions to sacrifice-summon Xing Luo. Push Lust too high now, and the fallout on his body could be anyone’s guess.

Back when he first ran into this system and let his Lust spike too fast, Lyn stayed hard for almost ten days—almost changed his name to Lyn Hard.

That raging, irritable itch wouldn’t let him even get any relief by, well, taking matters into his own hands.

All his brain could loop was “bang something.”

Worst part, he didn’t even dare grab a random girl to vent. The moment he did it with that mindset, Lust would only pile up the more he spent it. Lyn had zero interest in getting swallowed by Lust and turning into a soulless pile driver.

That ending wouldn’t be any better than those isekai “educator” routes.

Plus, if his control‑freak big sis found out, he wouldn’t even know how he died.

He only got out of that ordeal by forcing the Seven Deadly Sins back into balance.

Now, with Lust’s buildup cut off early, he could shelve the worry. The real task was letting Xing Luo lead him out of this mess of a place.

Kaspar, that bastard, died so hard there wasn’t even a hair left. Lyn grumbled at the loss; he’d had his eye on a few nice things on the guy.

As for what was left in this stronghold, most of it tied back to the Abyss or other wicked forces. Lyn didn’t dare carry that stuff around, and he didn’t have time to dig further.

Xing Luo’s strike just now was, for real, terrifying. But after Lyn woke up and felt around, he realized the array masking the base’s presence had been shredded too. The chaotic forces lurking here—and the dark power he’d vented during the sacrificial rite—could get noticed by others at any moment.

In this world, anyone who worships or serves the Abyss is hated like a rat in the street. Outside, the even scarier Church of Truth runs full-time inquisitions.

Even if the Belmond Family is a heavy hitter in the Divine Grace Empire, once the Church of Truth locks onto you, trouble follows.

Those lunatics running the Church of Truth have picked fights with major houses more than once. And Lyn isn’t exactly a key piece in Belmond. He’s got a big sister covering him, sure, but the family’s priorities aren’t him.

If the Church ramps up the pressure, he could get tossed as a disposable pawn at any time—assuming they confirm any tie to the Abyss. That’s the worst-case.

Since Lyn dared to partner with Kaspar—playing with fire—he’d already set up exits.

Even if he’d summoned a truly evil creature, he could’ve bound it with a forced contract and hidden it away.

And Xing Luo, as summoned, didn’t carry even a trace of Abyssal taint. As long as he left this stronghold, and no cleric from the Church of Truth called down the Eye of Truth on him in the short term, none of this would have anything to do with him.

This was better than the best outcome Lyn had expected.

So, after scrubbing anything that could trace back to him—especially the blood—Lyn bolted from the scene and, on the way out, set a fire.

He timed it. Only after he was a ways out from the stronghold would the blaze fully erupt and draw attention.

With that done, he slipped into a nearby secret passage. He didn’t forget to crush a rune scroll as he went—one of the backups he’d prepared.
