Humans sought to defy the gods, so they built a tower. The gods grew furious and scattered the nations. Then, the gods wished to illuminate the world, so they built another tower—
The Tower. A legend recorded in ancient texts years ago. A symbol that stirred yearning yet demanded awe.
Named "Heaven-Reaching," it embodied divine grace. Labeled "Forbidden," it symbolized bloody slaughter. Both were its essence.
Its name—the Tower of Babel!
Eyes that had been tightly shut slowly opened. On a steep mountain path, the awakened challengers heard an ancient, solemn voice echo in their ears:
"Having crossed many wars, overcome countless trials, and accepted my revelation, you stand here. Unknown traveler, noble or humble, rich or poor—amuse me!"
"He who pleases me shall claim wealth, power, strength—anything he desires!"
"Tch. Standard cult-leader opener. No originality?" The Great Demon King scoffed, scratching his ear as he gazed up at the breathtaking azure sky.
"If it were me, I’d be friendlier... like, ‘This is a high-risk dungeon—oops, small world. Tasks start in three minutes. Fail? Erased instantly.’ Perfect~!"
The carefree, mischievous Great Demon King was back in his element.
Grumbling aside, eager to solo a hidden dungeon (on a low-level map) with his top-tier account, he adjusted his mindset. Then, he started climbing the spiral path carved into the mountainside.
While others rushed upward frantically, Ink Ash strolled leisurely, whistling and admiring the scenery.
"Huh? Birds here? Never seen this species... wonder if I can catch one and roast it?"
"Ah, boulders rolling at turns? Naive! Real men face them head-on. Only fools run..."
With a casual kick, Ink Ash shattered the boulder blocking the path into dust, striking a rogue’s pose as he mused.
Meanwhile, ignoring the panicked fools, Lily—the beautiful apprentice deeply influenced by her master—was brilliantly clever. So clever, I felt my years of training were wasted.
Facing a boulder? No need to run. I have ten thousand ways to handle it!
Instantly, Lily recalled her master’s casual (boastful) advice from a recent chat.
She calmly found a step at a corner, silently repented for three seconds, then placed her specially reinforced Wooden Sword on it.
"Rumble-rumble (I’ll be back!)"
A slight upward push flipped the boulder. It tumbled cleanly off the cliff.
Well, it was just comedy. If you overanalyze it... you’re still too young.
Gazing up at the near mountain peak, the Great Demon King—who’d caught birds, kicked boulders, and scaled rocks—halted. A towering figure blocked his path—the legendary gatekeeper boss!
