Chapter 22: Siphoning Vital Essence? The
update icon Updated at 2025/12/20 22:00:02

The Dragon Princess's First Metamorphosis!

Su Qingshan never expected her metamorphosis would strike like this!

She was utterly unprepared!

As a young Dragon Princess, Su Qingshan knew becoming one demanded massive nourishment.

She felt ravenous—like a starving beast!

This hunger was unlike anything she’d ever felt. It clawed at her, as if she could swallow the whole world!

In the pitch-black kitchen, chewing sounds echoed.

It felt eerie in the dead of night.

Azure Rainbow Martial Hall fed many kids. The food wasn’t fancy, but portions were huge.

Su Qingshan devoured everything. She nearly gnawed raw rice sacks. Yet the burning hunger refused to fade!

What was wrong?

Wasn’t nourishment supposed to fix this?

All that food did nothing. Was her stomach a black hole?

“Oh dear~ Host sister! With me—your System Maiden who knows everything from stars to snacks—why not ask me instead of guessing?”

“But since I’m your dearest System Maiden, I’ll give a friendly hint!

Dragons are picky~ Becoming a Dragon Princess needs pure nourishment: primordial energy from humans! Mortal food? Full of junk. Barely any essence. How could it work?”

Primordial energy?

From humans?

Su Qingshan’s gut twisted.

Was she really expected to eat people?

She was a decent 21st-century citizen. She couldn’t do something so twisted!

“I’m touched you’d consider eating people, host sister! But it’s too bloody! I’m just a kid—I’d never suggest gore!

Pure nourishment is essence energy. Or just ‘essence.’ You don’t even know what essence is?”

Su Qingshan’s lips twitched.

In stories, only fox spirits or ghosts sucked human essence.

She was a grown man…

Well, maybe not anymore.

“For the purest essence, target healthy cultivators!”

The System Maiden added this with a sly grin, waiting for Su Qingshan’s choice.

Su Qingshan rolled her eyes.

“What are you turning me into?”

Essence-suckers were lowlifes. Even as a Villainous Dragon Princess, she shouldn’t stoop that low.

The System Maiden sighed. “Can’t be helped. You are a Dark Dragon, after all.”

Though sighing, Su Qingshan heard the gloating tone.

“Who’s there?”

A poised voice cut through the door.

Gujiajia woke to an empty, warm spot beside her. The basin towel was untouched.

Not a dream—the girl had been real.

Hearing kitchen noises, she investigated.

Deep night. Kids slept soundly. It had to be the girl.

Eighty percent sure, Gujiajia pushed the door open.

Light flooded in. The girl sat curled on the floor, silver-white hair swallowing her body.

“Su Qingshan, what’s wrong?”

Gujiajia’s heart stuttered.

She rushed forward to help her up.

“Don’t come closer!”

Su Qingshan snarled.

She didn’t look up, but her body sensed “food” approaching.

That pure essence—untainted cultivator energy!

She needed it!

Craved it!

A roar filled her mind: Devour her now!

The hunger had never raged so fiercely!

Su Qingshan strained every muscle to suppress the instinct.

Gujiajia froze.

Worried. Hurt.

Why was the girl so harsh? She was clearly unwell!

Ignoring protests, Gujiajia gripped Su Qingshan’s pale arm to lift her.

Skin like ice—smooth, elastic, freezing.

The chill shot through Gujiajia!

That sweet, peach-like scent wrapped around Su Qingshan like silk threads.

Take her!

Eat her!

Su Qingshan’s control frayed!

This had to stop!

She shot up—fast, forceful—knocking Gujiajia off-balance.

“Ah!”

Gujiajia gasped, her dignified voice trembling with softness.

Su Qingshan didn’t glance back. She vanished like wind.

“Don’t show your face to me again!”

Only those harsh words hung in the air.

Gujiajia, in thin pajamas, ached from the fall. Her heart ached more.

She’d only cared. Why such cruelty?

That vile Dark Dragon—so fickle!

Her chest tightened, tears pricking her eyes.

Uncontrollable.

Still worried, Gujiajia chased after her.

BANG!

The door slammed shut.

Gujiajia reached it just as voices spilled out.

“I’m at Azure Rainbow Martial Hall. Send young girls here.”

Su Qingshan forced calm into her voice.

Abandoning humanity was one thing—but facing men? Disgusting.

If she had to feed, young girls were more comfortable.

Healthier. Purer. Better results.

“Why chase others? The heroine’s right here! She’s a cultivator too!”

The System Maiden chirped, nudging her.

Su Qingshan ignored it.

This heroine was too suspicious. For her shaky redemption path, distance was safer.

“Understood, President.”

The secretary’s reply was crisp, professional.

Gujiajia froze.

Su Qingshan… wanted young girls?

Ancient Dark Dragon texts flashed in her mind: eating humans, abducting maidens as… breeding beds.

This Dark Dragon was female—but her demand…

Was Su Qingshan truly that vile?

Yes. A Dark Dragon. Instinct demanded it.

Gujiajia pictured tragic scenes. She gritted her teeth.

If it must be done… why others?

She’d vowed to watch this dragon. How could she let others suffer?

No. She couldn’t let the dragon endanger innocents.

Gujiajia steeled herself, jealousy burning. She slammed the door open!
