Chapter 6: Isn't Feeding Cake Between Gi

Su Qingshan certainly hadn’t forgotten.

Truth was, she owed her presence at the amusement park to the System Maiden.

*"If you’re grateful, complete more missions!"*

The System Maiden chirped cutely.

Su Qingshan snorted, then tugged Gujiajia toward the dessert shop.

Inside, sweet aromas swirled—creamy frosting tangled with fruity freshness, making mouths water.

She seated Gujiajia and ordered mini cakes, doughnuts, and two glasses of fresh peach juice.

When she returned with the tray, two boys stood beside Gujiajia’s table.

Their eyes lit up at Su Qingshan’s approach—

—but the Dark Dragon’s aura crushed them instantly. Shivering under the icy pressure, they scurried away.

"Elder sister," Su Qingshan set the plates down, "just say no next time if you dislike attention."

Gujiajia’s budding warmth vanished.

*She’d explicitly refused to accompany the Dark Dragon here!*

*It hadn’t mattered at all!*

*And she’d actually thought the monster cared?*

*Hypocrite. Strict with others, lenient with herself.*

Unaware of Gujiajia’s thoughts, Su Qingshan sipped her peach juice—decent—and dug into the desserts.

Seeing Gujiajia hesitate, she frowned slightly.

Gujiajia stared at the pastries.

*Just a quick look*, she’d decided earlier.

But they looked so delicate... and expensive.

Outside shops charged twenty yuan per piece.

This park location? Definitely pricier.

*Eating these would deepen her debt to the Dark Dragon.*

*The entrance ticket alone had already shattered her daily budget.*

*"Annoying. The heroine’s troubled—ruining the date’s sweetness."*

*"Host Sister must step in!"*

The System Maiden’s voice chimed as Su Qingshan paused.

Su Qingshan arched a brow.

A spoon suddenly appeared before Gujiajia’s eyes.

"Daydreaming, elder sister? Can’t choose?" Su Qingshan offered a bite. "Try this."

Gujiajia instinctively took the spoon.

Velvety sweetness flooded her senses.

As the spoon withdrew, a new one appeared with another pastry.

"Try this next."

Gujiajia froze.

*She’d just accepted cake from the Dark Dragon’s hand!*

Her cheeks flushed hot.

"Air conditioning’s strong here," Su Qingshan noted. "Feeling warm?"

Gujiajia snatched the spoon. "I can feed myself."

She nearly buried her face in the plate.

"Forgot to mention—that was my spoon."

"But no worries. Fresh ones here."

Gujiajia stiffened, radiating awkwardness.

Meanwhile, the System Maiden’s voice gushed in Su Qingshan’s mind:

*"Perfect sweetness for a date! Host Sister’s execution is flawless!"*

Su Qingshan scoffed. *Just a casual outing.*

Watching Gujiajia’s flustered face, she thought: *Two girls sharing cake is normal. Why overthink it?*

Dusk fell as they stepped off the Ferris wheel.

Pressured by the System Maiden, Su Qingshan reluctantly asked:

"Is the sunset different up there?"

Her stiff delivery sounded like grumbling to Gujiajia.

But the view *was* breathtaking—

—the entire city bathed in warm amber light, cozy and serene.

Even the Dark Dragon’s sharp profile seemed softened.

*I actually enjoyed today.*

Gujiajia jolted.

*What was she thinking?!*

*The Dark Dragon couldn’t be gentle!*

*This was another trap!*

*She’d nearly sunk into complacency!*

*"Date mission complete!"*

*"Host Sister shines! My chosen one never disappoints!"*

Su Qingshan instantly released Gujiajia’s hand.

"Date’s over. You can go home."

Gujiajia blinked. *Go home?*

*The Dark Dragon was letting her leave?*

*But this felt too abrupt—*

"Can I really go home?" she pressed.

Su Qingshan stopped walking. "Why not?"

*Mission complete. No reason to keep her.*

Gujiajia hesitated, feet rooted.

Su Qingshan realized: "Worried about the clothes? Consider them my date gift."

She’d even prepared presents—proper dates escorted girls home.

But the System Maiden had declared the mission done, so—

*"Gifts must still be given!"*

*"The date isn’t truly over! This affects the heroine’s perception of you, Host Sister! Fail this, and your redemption slips further away!"*

Near the exit, Su Qingshan halted and thrust two gift bags at Gujiajia.

"These are..."

"Date gifts."

"I—"

"They’re yours. Take them."

Su Qingshan shoved the bags into her arms.

Gujiajia peeked inside: plush toys, praised desserts, untried treats from today.

Warmth flickered in her chest—then died.

*Gifts from the Dark Dragon?*

*What poison hid inside?*

Su Qingshan caught her shifting expressions. "Don’t want them? Give them back."

*But the kids at home have never tasted these...*

Gujiajia clutched the bags tighter.
