Xueluo sat uneasily on the bench, fidgeting her feet.

After confirming Irina had become a vampire, Xueluo moved her to Zerich’s house. As if expecting their return, Zerich wasn’t asleep—the door was even left unlocked.

Though prepared for Xueluo’s arrival, Zerich was utterly shocked that Irina had turned vampire too. Still, he took Irina in and helped Xueluo check her sister’s condition.

But the wait had dragged on too long.

After tapping her foot again, Xueluo rested her chin in her hand. She prepared to contact Guya in her mind.

Sadly, after absorbing Irina’s blood, Guya had fallen silent for unknown reasons. No matter how Xueluo called, Guya gave no reply.

What’s going on?

A moment later, another door slowly creaked open.

“Irina!”

Xueluo shot up from her chair instinctively. But only Rosalie emerged from behind the door.

Seeing Xueluo’s obvious disappointment, Rosalie gave a bitter smile.

“What? Disappointed?”

“No, it’s just…” Xueluo murmured quietly, clasping her hands behind her back. She took a slight breath.

“How is she?”

“See for yourself.” Rosalie waved faintly. “Grandpa’s inside too.”

After a quiet reply, Xueluo finally stepped into the room.

There, Zerich stood beside a bed where Irina lay.

“Ah, Xueluo…” Zerich muttered, slowly rising and turning his gaze to her.

“How is she?”

“Well…” Zerich set down his medical tools and clasped his hands behind his back. “She’s definitely a vampire now. What did you do?”

Xueluo’s face flushed slightly. She told Zerich everything.

“Hmm. Seems you unconsciously turned your bloodlust into the Embrace—instead of draining your sister dry.”

“The Embrace?”

“Yes. Vampires use it to create progeny. Honestly, it’s exhausting and messy. You drain the victim first, then transfuse your blood. Afterward, the vampire needs long rest.” Zerich rubbed his chin. “But you did it subconsciously, with zero fatigue… That’s strange.”

No, not strange at all.

Hearing this, Xueluo understood. When she’d drowned in bloodlust, Guya must have reshaped it into the Embrace—saving Irina. As Zerich said, such an act drained immense energy from the vampire.

I’ll thank Guya properly once she wakes…

Just then, Zerich clapped his hands and grinned. “Well, your sister’s fine. Don’t worry about her vampire traits—they dilute over generations. Embraced by a Half Vampire, Irina might show none at all.”

Hard to say…

Guya performed it.

And Guya is a Third Generation Vampire.

Could this mean…

Irina became a Fourth Generation Vampire?

Fourth Generation Vampires were the first humans turned via the Embrace. Not born descendants, but inheritors of Third Generation blood. Legends say their power neared their ancestors’. When the Third Generation slept, these heirs took their place.

Most involved in mortal affairs among elder vampires, most died in the final Holy War. Survivors now rank among the absolute elites in the dwindling vampire society.

But Xueluo had no time to dwell.

“Since your sister’s safe, Xueluo,” Zerich said softly, placing a hand on her shoulder. “Shall we begin?”

“Huh? Begin what?”

Seeing her confusion, Zerich smiled faintly.

“Magic lessons, of course. I’ve got plenty to teach you.”
