Slam!

Hearing a cart rattle through the doorway, Irina set down her book and hurried to the door.

“Little sister, you’re back…”

But all she saw was Xueluo standing there, utterly dejected, his face flushed as if steaming.

As Irina froze in place, Xueluo leaned against the doorframe and weakly murmured,

“I’m your older brother…”

“Sis, what’s wrong? Get inside quick! Did the sun roast you?”

“I said—I’m your older brother…”

*Well, I reckon this nickname’s permanently stuck on you,* Guya remarked in Xueluo’s mind, utterly detached.

Irina hoisted Xueluo onto her back and carried him inside. After a short rest, Xueluo took a deep, heavy breath.

Guess my time under the sun’s still limited. After noon, I’m completely useless.

*After all, you do carry Blood Kin blood,* Guya’s voice echoed.

Xueluo slumped onto the sofa. After a few heavy breaths, he finally lowered his hand.

Still, a little rest, and I’ll bounce back fast.

“Hehehe~ Sis, wanna drink blood?”

“Huh?”

Xueluo turned to see Irina panting heavily, face crimson, leaning in close.

“Come on, come on—drink big sister’s blood~”

“Whoa, whoa! Why do you look like you’re about to climax? And I’m your older brother, I am!” Xueluo shoved his hand onto Irina’s face and yelled.

But Irina wore that blissful daze, waving her arms wildly.

“But… but… imagine being sucked by a beautiful Blood Kin girl~” Her panting grew louder. Xueluo saw spirals swirling in her eyes, her flushed face lost to reason.

“I want it~ I really want it~ Sis, hungry? Come eat up big sister~” Irina rolled up her sleeve and thrust it toward him.

Watching this, Guya sighed heavily in Xueluo’s head.

*For some reason, I don’t crave maiden’s blood at all today.*

Truth was, for a Vampire, a young virgin’s blood was the ultimate delicacy. Yet Irina somehow failed to stir that hunger.

*Seriously, I’m sure now—your family’s perverted streak is genetic. Ugh, scary~*

“Stop it, Irina.” Stung by Guya’s words, Xueluo grabbed Irina’s shoulders and pushed her back slightly. “Alright, serious talk time.”

His quiet words finally softened Irina’s expression. She wiped drool from her lips and whispered, “What is it?”

“I wanted to ask—you’re studying basic magic at a private academy, right?”

The Hymn Guild’s academy was university-level, so students usually took city-school basics first. But broke families like Xueluo’s could only afford cheap private cram schools.

Irina blinked, stunned, then murmured, “Yeah… but why?”

“Well, embarrassing to admit…” Xueluo muttered, forcing a wry smile. “I’m thinking of taking the magic academy exam with you.”
