Chapter 30: Yuhan Awakens

Lin Ming returned to his room and collapsed onto the bed. Whether it was the few cups of wine he’d drunk or sheer exhaustion, he slipped into deep sleep without a hint of insomnia.

Night draped Wind City in profound darkness. Under the moon’s glow, the city shimmered with an otherworldly beauty. Atop the central tower, a Black Cloaked Figure stood silhouetted against the sky. A gentle breeze pressed the loose robe against their form, revealing an elegant silhouette and generous curves that betrayed their gender. Even Lord Song Dugu couldn’t discern if they were man or woman—the cloak shielded them from all detection. Only in this unguarded moment could their true nature be glimpsed, yet no eyes witnessed it.

*“Wind City is lovely tonight… but will it still be so in a few days? Won’t it be far more beautiful when it becomes Asura Hell?”* A crisp, chilling voice cut through the stillness.

*“Lin Ming, murderer—you and your broken body can’t stop it. Watch helplessly as Hell Path rises. Savor that despair. Hahaha!”* The figure’s laughter echoed wildly from the tower.

…………

Morning sunlight streamed through the window, warming Yuhan He’s face. She murmured sleepily, rising slowly from bed. The light caught her silver hair, making it gleam like liquid starlight. She glanced at the alarm clock on her nightstand: 6:00 AM.

Yuhan stretched lazily, her silk camisole slipping slightly to reveal a breathtaking curve. No one was there to see the sight.

*Pat. Pat.* She gently slapped her cheeks to shake off drowsiness.

*“Alright! Time to get ready!”* she whispered to herself.

She padded toward the bathroom—a spacious chamber housing a pool-sized tub and shelves lined with shampoos and lotions. Her eyes sparkled with delight. She hadn’t explored it last night; she’d changed and slept immediately. *After all, staying up late ruins your skin.*

She began her morning routine… (The following details are best left to the imagination.)

Thirty minutes later, Yuhan emerged wrapped in a white towel. The fabric clung to her damp, flushed skin, her silver hair dripping softly. She truly looked like a vision fresh from the bath.

Drying her hair with a fresh towel, she turned to her wardrobe… (The next 2000 words of outfit selection have been mercifully omitted.)

Before the full-length mirror, Yuhan twirled in a floral sundress and strappy flat sandals. The outfit radiated youthful charm.

*“Perfect!”* She struck a pose, grinning at her reflection. *“Now, to wait for Senior at the dining hall.”*

**Lin Ming’s Room**

*“Ahhh~ So much money! All mine!”* Lin Ming drooled in his sleep, muttering dreamily while clutching at empty air above him. Pure Lin Ming.

…………

**Dining Hall**

City Lord Song Dugu and Rosen were already eating. Heiye and Bai Yan stood rigidly behind them—servants waited until their master finished.

*“Lord Song, I’ll rely on your support for the upcoming arrangements,”* Rosen said, cupping his fists respectfully.

*“Think nothing of it!”* Song Dugu chuckled warmly. *“Ah, I heard Miss He plans to go shopping today. Will that disrupt the schedule?”*

Rosen waved a hand. *“Not at all. Let her relax before the stage is ready. A carefree singer performs better.”*

*“Good, good.”*

Just then, a radiant figure entered the hall. Every head turned, utterly captivated.

*“Grandpa, good morning!”* Yuhan beamed at Rosen.

Rosen snapped out of his daze. *“Miss, good morning.”*

*“Lord Song! Uncle Heiye! Armor Uncle!”* Yuhan chirped, greeting each one.

*“Good…”* x3 (The trio was still recovering from the shock.)

*“Grandpa, where’s Senior?”* Yuhan scanned the room, frowning when she didn’t spot Lin Ming.

Rosen’s wrinkled smile vanished. *“That boy? Still asleep, no doubt.”*

*“Eh…”* Yuhan’s shoulders slumped—then lifted again. *“I’ll wake him!”*

*“Miss, you shouldn’t—”* Rosen’s protest died as she dashed off.

*“Damn it!”* Rosen clenched his chopsticks. *If not for her concert duties, I’d be the one accompanying her—not that brat Lin Ming.*

*“!! Where’d she go?”* Song Dugu finally blinked back to reality, turning to Rosen.

*“To fetch someone.”* Rosen shot him a disdainful glance. *A peer at my level, lost in a trance for so long? Pathetic.*

Song Dugu flushed with embarrassment. Noticing his still-stunned guards, he barked, *“You two! How much longer must you gawk? Disgraceful!”*

*“Ah! Our apologies!”* x2

…………

Yuhan hurried down the corridor. She remembered Lin Ming’s room faced hers, but to be sure, she asked a maid. With so few guests in the City Lord’s Mansion, the answer came quickly.

At her doorway, she hesitated—two rooms faced hers. No problem. As a Mage, she extended her Spirit Power. The left room was empty. *Right it is.*

*“Yuhan, you’re brilliant,”* she whispered, proud of her cleverness.

She knocked firmly. *“Senior! Senior! Wake up! We promised to go shopping today!”*

**Inside the Room**

Lin Ming lay sprawled on the bed, snoring softly. *“Mmm… piles of cash… hehehe…”*

……

*“Senior! SENIOR!”*

After a full minute of silence, Yuhan puffed out her cheeks. *“You’re such a pig, Senior!”*

*“If you don’t answer me now… I’m coming in!”* she warned.

*Snore… snore…*

*“Hmph! I’m entering!”* She pushed the door open and stepped inside.
